No offence, Kev, but you need to remove your head from your arse.

This is a strong and perfectly digestable record, absolutely better than almost all material of the same ilk, it's very very good. Reviews like this are why a lot of people don't take DiS seriously, at times it seems to be more keen on making a statement than accurately reviewing. For me this is as good a record as i've heard this year, probably an 8/10, maybe higher. Anyone who awards it less than a 7 really shouldn't be taken seriously.

Well, i've heard this record.

and it's not deserving of a score like that, and i've heard several records this year that's are obviously stronger than that that've been scored lower. I realise it's just one persons opinion and it's all objective, but no, just no.

DiS is silly sometimes.

sick fucks.

as much as i love Morrissey

i've found myself really not caring what he does over the last couple of years. I think this track's okay, good actually, certainly better than most of the stuff off the last record, but he could do so much better. I find it pretty hard to watch.

stock band alert.

I completely guess them all and got 93.

Good quiz, though.

I've seen them twice...

both times i've left the room. SO embarassing. The only time they were watchable is when the idiot on lead plays piano and lets the other dude sing. Worst band i've ever seen live. Awful.

Moo to you, Daniel Kelly.

It's a fantastic record, you've not given it enough time. P's & Q's is the best thing they've done.

I'm not sure i buy into all this.

It can't be that unlikely that when making completely fabricated tat like this that two people have the same stupid idea.

^ that's what i meant.

just for the record.

It's at least a 9/10, for me.

And not even in the same league as the Foals or Los Campesinos records. Had it had Champagne Girls on it it'd have been a full 10. I don't remember being more impressed by a British bands debut ever.

wouldn't be surprised if they cancelled AGAIN.

thieving scumcunts.

When you said Science...

i thought you meant the guy off Big Brother 4. The one from t'hood/Keighley.

Agreed. More CYHSY than Animal Collective.

The albumn's pretty strong.

I like this record.

It's not great, but 6/10's perhaps a little harsh.

GREAT GREAT band.

I must go on about it a lot but they're very special. Their last record's up there with anything i've ever heard.

I'm a bit dissapointed with this score.

I think Denis is a real talent, probably one of my favourite local artists. 7/10, for me, but each to their own.

Damn.

I was looking forward to running into HMV with my tango hands on and demanding a copy of this Brian Blessed-style.

It's R&B though, really, isn't it, come on.

I'm against tags and pigeon-holing, but it's no different to Rihanna, or Nelly Furtado, or Gwen Stefani, or any other R&B/Pop tat. It's no more racist than people describing white boys in bands as Indie.

Why does Guy Gurvey never fecking smile?

Grumby sod.

I can imagine the monthly DiS meetings now.

Amazing.

I don't really see anything wrong with the title...

but he'd have to admit that he'd be equally unoffended if, say, Scooter decided to release a record of the same name.

Did no-one hear their last EP?

Cod-raggae pap. Sub-Dennis Brown shite. Awful.

Having heard this girl talk...

i can't believe she'd know who Animal Collective are. I expect the dick out of FOCH has told her exactly who to mention.

no doubt.

but it's always DiS-faves, or some other sort of public rimming tag. Pretty cheesy and shit.

Isn't it about time DiS stopped rimming these now?

Yes, we KNOW they posted on here years ago. We KNOW they're not bad. We KNOW DiS is solely responsible for every single thing they've done. Let it go.

if you had three bullets and four Kooks, which would you save?

I'd probably make them stand behind eachother in a row and go for three massive shots to the head, heart and head.

Tom King, blatantly a dickhead.

I'm not a massive fan of The Whip, but come on, no-one could say this album was less than a 6/10, even if you really disliked the band. At least four of the tracks are decent, and whilst it's absolutely unoriginal no-one could say it's complete tat. It's reviews like this that let DiS down.

A) Four and Twenty.

Awooga.

I watched Escape To Victory this morning, too.

It was beautiful. Russell Osman, especially.

most irrelevant article ever?

if he was that much of a Moss Side legend he'd be on my Christmas card list.

I can't believe that two years ago i thought they were the best thing since sliced bread.

I remember writing a review desribing WTA as 'a modern punk classic'. What a cock!

(Chinese Dogs is pretty ace, though)

lol at Ghostface Killa

this festival looks a bit shit.
