I've noticed that
Death take your fiddle = Waiting around to die by Townes Van Zandt. They're both great though...
Good review
It's a beautiful, beautiful record.
"But why,
who is supporting them on the Cardiff gig?" you're probably not asking... well, I'll tell you anyway. Fresh from last week's Dead Meadow and Youthmovies gig:

Relevant jags are the best kind.
My favourite cover:
Hurra Torpedo - Total Eclipse of the Heart.
I thought the record...
...was very nice, but live I thought they were outstanding. Tis a shame they're not playing in Cardiff this time round.
Hmmm,
Maybe this interperator could tell me what nepitism means.
This No Sleep Police band sound interesting, maybe they should do some gigs so, y'know, people can actually hear them and stuff. And if anyone's bored of the "incestuous" music scene... try putting on some gigs yourself, with music you like and would want to see. And stop moaning about it.
Excellent
I just hope it's industrial strength.
Erm
You do realise the Barfly stinks of shit and is the worst venue in the world? Apart from that, good news - I await further news with interest...
monpot,
thank you for making me laugh so much as an early act of a working day. And yes, the album is stunningly good, it kicks several shades of shit out of most albums released this year.
I was there
And they were fucking mint. I'd waited years to see them, they did not disappoint.
and
it was TOTAL Network Solutions. The company then fucked off from Llansantffraid and took the name with them.
They're
done by Akron/Family.
Good review
I love the now Explosions album, but this tops it for me - totally lovely, and track 3 makes me dance around like a loon - something most "post-rock" lacks.
By the way, isn't "post-rock" an utterly ghastly term? Love the music, hate the tag...
Manyfingers
is one of the best live acts I've ever seen. I'm going to go to this...
oh, and if anyone's interested
Broken Leaf stuff (ie me) at www.myspace.com/brokenleafmusic
Well
What a nice man...
I got my greasy paws on a copy
and lord, how I love it so. Very funny and very dark at the same time.
And...
5th Feb: The Secret Show - Impressionist Road Map of the West.
Grrrr
Keep it up, I like you.
Meh,
He's Lee Hazlewood, he can do what he wants! I'll pick this up today anyway, so hopefully it's not as disturbing as you make out... xXx
Nice one Jane,
I love Lee Hazlewood. A new version of Some Velvet Morning makes me very happy indeed...
Thanks!
.
Thanks!
.
Go for it
The more pity I get the better.
By the way, I maintain Matt Lucas is the singer in the Gossip too.
agreed
From that performance and the picture above, I can only conclude it's Chris Morris' new project.
Any idea
why Lisa Germano cancelled? I was gonna make the trip down to London for that, I'm glad I didn't now...
Lest we forget...

Best ever review on DiS.
Yeah
but he'd more likely to set up hidden cameras.
True...
Fucked up the ass by Jeremy Beadle or fucked up the ass by Noel Edmunds?
NOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Make them stop. Now. This song was bad enough the first time round.
Secrete show?
Damn right it'll surprise people! It's gonna be good....
Wow...
Rachel Cawley is my new favourite person. Good on yer.
And no, they didn't rip off Jarcrew. Jarcrew were good.
Hooray!
The album is great too, especially the Low cover.
boring?
They sure are!
A (mis)quote from Julian Cope at a recent gig: "Coldplay are timeless: because their songs are about nothing, they'll be about nothing forever."
Thwack!
Was that "thwack" the sound of Mike hitting Adam or Adam hitting Mike? It's a good word anyhow.
Hi Jane!
True, but at least clwb doesn't have any pillars that obscure the view for about a third of room!
Cardiff barfly
Hmm, going to Cardiff barfly and complaining about the sound is a bit like going to the antartic and complaining about the chill.
Oops, pressed wrong button before I'd finished...
But yeah, great choices in the list, fair play to you all. And thank you for not mentioning Antony and his Johnson.
Right,
I know it's utterly predictable to debate the choices, but for my money Superwolf by Bonnie Prince Billy and Matt Sweeney was fucking great.
DiS Disappearing For A Few Days
Here's to the new site, I look forward to seeing it. Don't know about the rest of you, but I might read a book this weekend. Yeah, drastic...

Buddhism isn't exactly known for having wealthy, grumpy followers though. Laughing Len might be better off with Kabbalah or something.

Thirded
This is certainly in the 90 percent of DiS that's crap, and is also plain wrong to boot.
