I don't even need to hear the album

to know that this review is completely correct

You, sir,

are my absolute fucking hero

Obama wins

Because he has Springsteen.

And no Abba.

Which one is the drummer?

Because he is the biggest fucking cunt I have ever seen in my entire life.

You Me At Six

Best review ever.

amazing quote

god I love this album

Literally

100% absolutely fucking correct.

Underappreciated

Josh Homme > Leighfield

In the 'dealing with audience members' stakes.

Good music isn't defined by what it sounds like?

Yeah, well done on saying the stupidest thing anyone has ever said.

Sorry

I could have sworn you just claimed The National to be influenced by Coldplay... I must have been mistaken.

What an utter snore fest

Musicians are so fucking dull

In the maxim article

he justifies not listening to the black crowes album and then reviewing it, by comparing it to going on a blind date or to a meal and says "why would you wait for the main course if the starter consisted of rat hair and dog shit" (or something)

Well... BECAUSE REVIEWING THAT CD IS YOUR FUCKING JOB!

I don't go into work and say, "hmmm... I'm not a big fan of this new ordering system, I'm off home"

Yeah

Something to Write Home About really is the best record... pretty much ever.

I'd be interested to find that out

but I would be surprised if that was the case to be honest.

Interesting article

Regarding the 'do reviews matter' question:
I think that when you're younger and new to the whole music thing you take reviews and features on artists a lot more on face value. ie. when I was 12/13, if Kerrang said something was good then I'd buy it.

After a few years of buying hit and miss records you start to realise to take things with a pinch of salt.

Until you reach my age and just assume that all music is shit and everyone is lying.

In all seriousness, as much as I respect DiS' view on music, I'm also well aware that a review is based on one person's opinion that can easily differ from mine from record to record.

Why would you pose as FAKE policemen?

Ah, pedantic.

"Vince Power, the founder of Mean Fiddler"

That's all I needed to know about that guy before dismissing his opinions completely.

In a more serious answer

I absolute abhor violence of any kind against any one for any reason. Even worse when it's a group of people on one person. EVEN WORSE when it's completely unprovoked.

Society needs to man the fuck up and get over it.

Do you only have one picture of Rivers?

Great picture though it is..

I'm all over this

like a bear on a rat

Much better

i know a lot of people

who feel exactly the same.

Some of them have massively eclectic music tastes but still rate post-rock a little differently because of that 'feel' factor.

a cookie and a compliment

it's like the BEST day :-D

The he said it wasn't a genre

then said it was?

*like every other genre

I mean

being in a "post rock" band

I can only really say that it's music I love to play, simply because it can move me more than I have ever experianced with previous bands of other ilks.

A chord change, or a change of dynamics can get my stomach knotted up - and that's why I love it.

I don't know if we're good post rock, or bad post rock (i'm not entirely sure of the difference), but I just don't care.

I think, live every other genre in music, you like some of it, and you don't like some of it. I don't see how it can be viewed as any more or less stagnant than punk/indie/r&b/rap/dance etc etc etc.

"gaylords"

MEGALOLZ

I love Rivers

So so much

Seconded

Over and over and over again

Dizze Rascall

in horribly horribly wrong shocker

I've not read the article yet

But great headline
