"I have to hit very high notes"
I will willingly kick him in the groin every time he needs help with the high notes.
SFA
are an albums band!
Hmmmm
I've only really listened to the efforts by Scritti Politti and Hot Chip so I can't really pass judgement, both of them are pretty good, although I wouldn't say that they truely break any new ground or anything.
I saw this band twice...
and they were excellent both times, another good band bites the dust, ho hum...
Them and Bullet Union splitting...
that sucks big time.
A few issues here...
I've read Plan B pretty much since it strated although I've missed a few issues here and there.
I quite like it, I agree that some of the articles and reviews can be hard going sometimes and the reviewers can appear snobbish, however their passion and love for music also shines through which I believe is one of the differences between magazines like Plan B and the NME, OMM etc.
I salute the brave decision they have taken to move to a monthly release, however I echo some of the concerns that Mike Diver raises.
My main gripe with Plan B is its near total lack of coverage of the UK music scene, and the Research seem to be on the cover twice in a year! are they the only band representative of the UK music scene? I personally feel there are great, vibrent scenes happening around this country, but Plan B at times seems a bit oblivious to it, instead covering what's fresh out of the US.
Transmission.
It's a big pile of shit.
Does anyone think...
that if they made bands play live that it would have made a difference at all?
That number 1 song...
I heard some of the lines in it.
She must be trying to be ironic, right?
Shame you missed Truax
Fantastic live and a very nice bloke to boot, he's playing TRUCK though, WHOOP!
I would call this...
a bit of a petty matter really...
HALF an album.
[/sad, lonely geek]
No one else is sad enough.
Anyway, I like Room to Live.
That's a point actually...
after the big 1998 fall out the Fall albums produced after it were some of the very best, so here's to hoping for some new, great sounding stuff!
WHAT?!?
Click is a better album, it's more varied for one, I can't tell some of the songs apart on Heads Roll.
Then again I say Levitate and the Unutterable are in the Top 5 Fall albums ever so my opinion can be disregarded.
I think...
taking a girl on a date to a Fall gig is a big enough tragedy in itself!
Personally I though that Fall Heads Roll was alright, but it all sounded a bit samey.
New
band members?
Or that...
girl on the keyboard, she only ever plays one note for christ sakes!
Like a snake shedding it's skin...
the Fall will now move on to something new and exciting, they will never stay in the same place for too long.
Frankly I'm a little excited with this.
David Ginola and Haircut 100
I'd pay to see that.
I want my own Castle of Doom studio.
Hmmm
Sounds intresting.
Trip to Marineville should actually be part of every person's music collection, it's that good.
Well..
the book details bands such as Joy Division, Wire and PiL so obviously there must have been issues with their record companies.
Pere Ubu would be nice, Maximum Logic, Delta 5, ESG, Bush Tetra's, Liquid Liquid etc.
But then you could fill about 4 discs with great bands from that era.
It doesn't look too bad.
And the book is very good.
The comp looks a bit samey though, I'm sure I've seen other 'post-punk' comps with similar line-ups.
Hooray!
Every time I see that Guy Piccioto is producing it makes me smile and rub my hands in excitement.
How many times..
do they need to play London?
Chicks on Speed...
and Thomas Truax should be ace
AWESOMENESS!!!
HOORAY!!!
She's the same lady...
who was the replacement bassist in the Ikara Colt.
There were some pictures around on the internet with her wearing just a pout.
Damn.
Still, I'm looking forward to wahtever comes next.
Who carries around
$6000 in their purse anyway?
It's a great shame though.
Great Stuff.
Now will this website work?
Minehead!
that's awesome, if I'm still in Plymouth then it's not too far to go, except that I won't have enough money this Friday. :-(
Damn.
I've seen some places...
which say they are playing Leicester on the 17th of May.
hmmmm
Hooray!
A Leicester Date!
I need the money...
"Look out for a forthcoming DiS interview with the band, as well as a competition to win sought-after promo copies of the band's early singles"
I have one of these.
Time to hit ebay I think...
Ginger eh?
controversial that one.
I'm a Tweedy man, I like my girls to be dangerous.
Well
Q and not U did release a trio of albums on CD...
Read it through again Diver!
An Emergency are a good band, go see them live people.
That...
looks awesome, shame I'm not a Londoner.
Wings...
is one of the best Fall tunes ever.
True.
It's another good reason to celebrate today by going out and getting drunk.
How...
do you go about getting a national holiday for today?
Did...
the police stop Dirty Pretty Things set due to crimes against music?
Very good article Diver.
Very well written, Keveddy is right, the Head Wound City stuff is good.
I also like the lates Neon Blonde album, I get the feeling that the band might move more towards this direction for their next album. With some bits of screaming of course!
Blood Red Shoes are ace...
so perhaps they could sing happy birthday to me. Although I'm not going to be there...
I used...
to love ring-sir, much more then I like the pipettes.
2 mins...
I'm sure they could fit about 5 tracks into that.
I got this a while ago...
and It's been like a permenant fixture on the old CD player.
He obviously...
hates the east midlands as well, I'm not going to birmingham! it's scary there...

Some great stuff there.
Me personally, I can't wait for the Emperor Machine's 'Vertical tones and Horizontal Noise' which is out like next week!
Yes I know it's a compilation but as I don't have any of their 12"'s this will do nicely.
