Nice review Phil!
Looking forward to this arriving in the post soon... wish I had gone to the launch at Plastic People now!
An old favourite :)

:D
Great list - lots of stuff I missed too that i'm really excited about looking into now!
Love The Antlers write up too. Like you, it didn't really click for me, and I think I only gave it about 3 listens before deciding it wasn't all that. Going to take you up on your recommendation and give it some quality headphones time and see if I change my mind :)
I'm glad everyone is disagreeing (a bit) with this review
I've been listening to it non-stop since I got it on Monday, and although it might not be as good as Contact! Contact! (which i think is seriously under-rated) its still a solid 8 at least. Sure they might not be pushing any boundaries especially, but its just so fun and catchy and generally great :D Plus they are always so good live, and lovely guys to boot!
Sorry, but this is a really bad review
It reads like it was translated from another language, and the formatting is all over the shop.
Havent heard the album, so I can't comment on that, but sort it out guys :)
Nice interview - looking forward to Fleur!
Was at both of those london hotflush nights last month - lovely stuff :D
You at James Blake on friday?
B - Arrested Development
cheers
very nice review, capturing the feel of the show really well
good to see Diver back reviewing on DiS too! :D
ticketweb has the london date as Oct 5th
who is right?
good read
sounds like i'm going to need to check out some Sepalcure!
can you also recommend some FaltyDL?
great article
and great artwork too!
Great review
and sounds like a great album. Will probably buy it on the strength of this alone :)
nice
VERY nice
YES
can't wait for the barbican show. still very curious to see if they dress up the Britten orchestra in pointy hats :D
lovely review
chilling lyrics too
can't freakin wait for that barbican show
do you reckon they'll get the Britten orchestra to dress up in pointy hats and all too?
nice review phil
made me want to check out Sleep, and older Om, so i guess thats a success?
Album is 'The Resistance'
And I grew up in a village over the hill from Teignmouth (Stokeingteignhead). Havent seen Muse in a while but they have been one of my favourite bands since I have had favourite bands. Also my oldest and best friend still lives there and is also a big Muse fan, and it would be amazing to go back home and see them with him - especially on the seafront in Teignmouth!
nice review Mike
but Glass Handed Kites was 2005, not 2007. just in case the beeb actually check these things :P
damnit there are way too many good gigs on the 28th
and i already have tickets for one (Efterklang). also Los Camp are playing that night, and something else too i'm sure.
if i was stoned right now this would be the best thing ever
still pretty fun mind
someone was claiming it yesterday in your thread.
i think he was 2000th then.
did you ever decide on a present for the 2000th 'follower'?
and how are you planning on telling who the 2000th was? it changes all the time as people between 1-1999 stop following etc
i dont get that justice thing
do they have a copyright on the crucifix shape???
so i can get one in large OR extra-large?
metal fans eh?
Can i wear a band t-shirt while i am unemployed at home?
like i do EVERY DAY
the 65 remix is BOSS
21 minutes of joy
quids in
well deserved too. definitely one of my favourites of this year
oh?
intriguing
i thought they had several paid staff before the BSkyB thing
so no, it didn't occur to me
yeah i had no idea this meant any redundancies
i would happily have ads thrown at me left right and centre if the people that make this site what it is could continue doing what they do so well
hmmm - good?
does this mean the adverts will be less annoying, or are they staying?
and King Adora to paedophiles?
I love JoFo :D
:( i'm not going to be around for this
but then i never really got all the pant-creaming over No Age and TNV anyway.
Obligatory Outrage Post
What? No Los Camp!? Thats probably my favourite british album released this year. Also Youthmovies, but then maybe you can't include them?
yeah i agree
hence why i thought you could promote redjetson to 'headline' status. not that it makes much difference i suppose at rota what time you are on.
you should let redjetson 'headline' the DiScover show
seeing as how it is their last and all
saw them live recently
and i was gobsmacked how much of a rip-off some of their songs were. they were still pretty decent, but a few were just daylight robbery pure and simple.
^ this
i didn't mind paying £9 or whatever, but to then do this? its fucking over the real fans who bought tickets in advance and rewarding those who sat on the fence and didn't really want to go in the first place.
:( whats all this about cheap london tickets?
i just bought about 10 at £9 each from ticketweb for me and my coursemates who are all coming down. fuck.
Dear Drowned in Sound,
I have tried cutting this out and 'keeping it' several times now on various computers at work, but every time the glass on the monitor just shatters and my colleages are getting increasingly frustrated at me. Please can you offer more precise directions on how we may 'cut this out' and therefore 'keep it'.
Thanks,
Frustrated, London.
where are the smash hits?
its no 'Slam Dunk Tha Funk' - thats for sure.
I don't get why these guys called themselves 5ive - it was a shitty name to begin with and has horrible connotations...
well yeah obviously
i meant its amazing how few people actually went out and bought it.
i didn't realise the download/physical ratio was that skewed!

Like you said it wasn't perfect in some ways (energy, motivation, setlist perhaps), but that didn't matter because it fucking rocked anyway.
