What amazed me about VOB

was the fact that the singles like Q and A were so catchy yet therest of the album was quite odd yet had so much longevity - not the kind of thing you get bored of after 10 listens.

I didn't get this with puzzle, but I'm not prepared to have a squabblr over this as clearly Biffy are alot of things to alot of people as they have gained more fans and climbed the ranks with each album.

I think those that argue that people don't like them simply for getting big with Puzzle are looking over the fact they sold out the London Astoria off the back of Infinity Land and I can't remember the fans bitching then.

Although to be fair

KOL had tons of hype on album one, what with Molly's Chambers and all this garage rock movement.

Agreed on Arctic Monkeys, Dancefloor just holds no appeal at to me, and I can see the appeal of alot of mainstream songs even if it's not my cuppa.

Anyone who says the backlash is owing to the fact they are now popular is missing the point

Sorry, this has been said but I do want to re-iterate.

Vertigo of Bliss is unique, inventive and just seemed to come completely out of the blue. Oh, and I think the lyrics on this album are really innovative too.

Puzzle had a few good songs and in fairness some of them do come accross better live than on record but didn't make me want to listen to it over and over again like VOB.

Anyone got Mosh and Go?

some tres bien songs on that

Did this band play koko in 2007 for club NME on a fri

On the same night as Kill Kenada perhaps?

Or am i way off the mark?

MY VITRIOL SECOND ALBUM

Would be nice

OOOOOH what did you expect?

when none of your songs had anything interesting about them.

i was never really a libs fan but i actually liked some Babyshambles songs. DPT, however, were just so dull!

time for heroes?

anyone?

The London dates are odd

in as much as they are 11 days apart and at different venues. To be fair though, it does give a date to North London and a date to South London - it's a big city after all!

Bloody big venues on this tour too!

You couldn't escape them back in '02

Now they seemt to have vanished off the face of the earth. It was only by chance i saw this review.

Highly Evolved wasn't bad, it just didn't deserve all the praise that was thrown at it.

Biffy aren't a stadium band are they?

Ok, they're a very successful rock band now.

God I'd love to see YCNI:M back in action

Nothing against the automatic though. It'll be interesting to see what Paul Mullen can bring.

The major downside of the singles album

is that the people who got into them via Puzzle won't get to hear the amazing album tracks like bodies in flight, convex concave and some kind of wizard to name but a few.

Reminds me a bit of josh Hommes' outburst the other week

Yes, he was justified in being annoyed but IMO he did go a bit bonkers when he could have let it pass or just said one witty comment rather than a whole load of verbal abuse.

If the chap did try and pull her dress down then that is completely unaceptable, obviously, and i can understand her frustration.

This band

not this and

I'm not saying life is a bed of roses

but as far as i can see this and have an enormously negative outlook on life. Especially with all this people=shit nonsense. Like i say, life isn't all sunshine, i just think don't think it's as grim as the paint it out to be.

Doubtless i'll get torn apart for making this comment.

This is a shame

I'm suprised they never recieved the commercial success they deserve, especially given all their hard work.

I'm not against Puzzle

but would love to see the next album be even wierder than anything they've ever done. I mean they're pretty big now. be interesting to see how the people who got into them through puzzle would react.

Like i say, Puzzle is a good album, but i think the songs sound better live than on record.

Not a fan of MCR

But the Daily Mail are fuckers so anything that causes them grief is good. I never read the article in which they slated emo but from what ihear it was enormously ill founded so fuck 'em.

^ Agreed

They could do a Myvitriol - as they released between the lines with all the rarities and b-sides.

Imagine if she did a tour of tiny venues like the Barfly

That would be a bit different.

Buy all the singles

I mean

A colllection of B-sides on one disk woud be fab.

Kind of like MV's between the lines. People scream of cash in when this happens but it's great to have it all on one disk rather than but all the singles.

I don't have a huge opinion either way on this band

But it will be interesting to see how they fair on album 2 after having the whole NME hype machine thing. time will tell.

James Blunt

As mentioned above came across as a nice bloke when he was on Top Gear at the end of last year.

Plain Fucking Greedy

IMO.

Cant wait for albums 2 & 3!

then we'll see how bands with this launch pad of hype really do.

Oh for fuck's sake give them a break

And he said that 'we can do anything we wanted' meaning that they don't feel compelled to write silent alarm songs for the rest of their musical career. Musicians are allowed to try different things aren't they? plus they're better than any ten a penny tight jeans (loved by NME) indie band.

Wonder

who will Support?

Californication

is merely a word and is open to interpretation- (be it positive or negative). RHCP have used, but do not own this word and therefore should fuck right off and stop being so egotistic and greedy.

The song they did together

for Print is dead was pretty good, it could work.

Never heard of 'em

Sadly this kind of thing is good exposure for shit bands who dont have the songs to make them stand out.

I wonder if they will hit the mainstream...

They've been gigging for ages, supporting bands both good and bad.

Only 8 tracks?

Wicked band nonetheless.

they supported ycni:milo back in '04

At the ICA. anyone remember? good gig

I'm gutted

but remain positive as they have left a good looking corpse in They Came From the Sun. Look at all the other british bands who released good albums then turned sour (naming no names). It has to be said that milo were one of the most innovative and interesting (not to mention amazing live) bands of the past few years. Ignoto was criminally underrated, and it was a shame that the more accessible They Came From the Sun didn't take them as far as they deserved.

I didn't know ycni:milo were supporting

there was nothing on their website announcing they were to support sparta i'm sure. they did however cancel their own headline show this week.

Quite a few people still care

which is probably why they played a sold out gig at the koko back in november, and a blinding gig it was. Its so good to see them back as they are so infinetly more interesting than al the crap trendy indie or emo that seems to be so prevalent of late.

good review

one of the best things about all of milo's output is how well the songs work live. the new stuff sounded massive when i saw them supporting shikari recently. Ignoto was so overlooked in my opinion. be interesting to see if this album leads to more commercial success.

'all you do is talk'

didn't the boxer rebellion have a song with this title? just reminds me of when i saw them supporting biffy back in '04.

aren't most of them

from wolverhampton?

Trashing hotel rooms

really is the most sad of rock n roll cliches.

good to see tham back

they have got two good strong albums behind 'em and are real good live. best of luck to them with the album.

Hammersmith Palais

is a big venue for an unsigned band to play isn't it. good on 'em tho.

3 support bands seems alot

is it just me or are bands taking more supports out nowadays. i can remember when it used to be just one support then a nice long headline set.

is it just me...

or does all angels sound a bit 2 much like all saints? remember them?

This is awful..

Hope he makes a speedy recovery.

team sleep album...

what was it called, and how good is it? i heard one TS song and i quite liked it so i would like to hear the album in full.
