there's another interview with him (on pitchfork I think) where he is asked about the homophobia with which they were previously associated and his response basically 'fesses up and acknowledges that H.R. said some ignorant stuff and that they were nineteen or something when the incident happened and that they have all got a lot wiser since and that those kind of adolescant confused aggressive outbursts are absolutely contrary to the bands guiding philosophy. For what its worth it seems like a pretty honest response, sorry i can't do a link but its out there somewhere.

but is more of a tinkering about on the cymbals and rimshots kind of guy, I suspect for a led zeppelin reunion they might favour more of a 'demolish the kick and toms with a bit of gong' type player.

The real scary aspect of this story is that Clear Channel rmoved Stern because his (typically) vocal criticism of president bush was an embarassment to the corporation that owns clear channel and it's Washington based interests (I'm sure if you follow the trail of ownership far enough it leads either to the christian right-wing, a weapons manufacturer or both).
for a country that enshrined the right to freedom of speech/belief and all that in it's constitution, this kind of cynical self interest from the most powerful people in the country is overwhelmingly sad and angering. It appears Bin Laden was correct when he said America will destroy itself.

pixies vs SY? looks like a pretty even match, three boys and one lady apiece until you get face to face, for example; kim deal (ex-junkie, lives in tough hispanic neighbourhood, wrote most of "pod") squares up to kim gordon (art schooler, lives on manhatten, designs clothes) or, frank black ("the real wave of mutilation" as he is known in wrestling circles) mano a mano with thurston moore... Not pretty.
