Brilliant
They're like a 21st century talking heads or something.
FAO Bloc Party: this is how you do 'progression'.
Another reason to hate the music industry
Muxtape was a good thing for the music business, surely?

Norwich UAE?
United Arab Emirates?
or University Of East Anglia?
YOU DECIDE.
I think Bloc Party would have always been single of the week
The thing is, Radiohead made genuinely brilliant musical progressions with Kid A. I really doubt anyone will be holding this in the same regard in a few months time, let alone a few years. Mercury is laughably bad IMO.
I went in today
there's some awesome stuff in there, and the prices aren't too bad. The staff have never seemed that friendly though.
Tindersticks > Interpol
any day.
4AD is still good
but it's lost its identity. Of course it has to expand and renew itself, but you don't buy a 4AD CD knowing what it's going to sound like now, which you might have done 20 years ago. So for that, I don't think your statement rings true.
This reminds me of Kerrang! circa 2001
where the singer of nickleback had a long running feud with one of the writers. he later sent him some flowers.
I've read
that the organisers were arrested. And that Mark Ronson was paid in pound coins.
^^
Awesome label.
That Deerhunter record
must be the earliest leak in history. Shame, really.
Looking forward to the new Hope Sandoval and Massive Attack records if either of them ever come out.
This is more like it
brilliant Northern Soul era Verve.
haha
that video is brilliant.
This is OLD.
really old.
It's a 9/10 record
it says so in Rock Sound!
yep
:(
I believe so
yep!
not simon amstell
luke pritchard from the kooks.
hahaha
as opposed to what, music for 'grown ups'? Come on...
^
!!!!
I think it sounds pretty awesome actually
Much much better than anything off 'Urban Hymns'. It sounds less Ashcroft and more of a whole band thing, which is good news.
I like this
better than that sonic turd Strawberry Jam anyway.
I trust your judgement
I'm gonna order this NOW.
They could have handled this so much better
they're big enough to 'do a radiohead' and surprise people with the album, rather than sending out promos for anyone to rip months in advance.
^^^
the new album's ace as well.
YEAH
compared to jo fo, anyway.
Yep
Mystery Jets are DULL.
I mean Minotuar Explode
whatever.
Orphans
They're ace.
Clashes with Latitude
Sorry Truck - you lose.
I agree
shoegaze-lite which isn't very interesting after the third listen.
NOISE
I believe. They're on Release The Bats.
Nice
but there's nothing on this record that their debut didn't do much better.
Hope Sandoval
should record more.
The suffolk one is within half a mile of my house
I should go just for the sake of it.
This single is rubbish
but the album is goooooood.
A Sunny Day in Glasgow
will be there I believe.
Watch them.
Rubbish artwork
good album.
I'm getting a little bored with Xiu Xiu
They haven't come close to matching the quality of 'Knife Play', and they seem to be repeating the same idea with a different instrumental backing on every album.
Was that picture taken in Cambridge?
Good shot anyway!
<3 Johnny Foreigner.
That Telepathe song is annoying
and I've only played it once.
Gui Boratto however is my new favourite person.
I like them
but their singer sounds too much like Eddie Argos for me to take them seriously.
I like HEALTH
a lot.
one good TV show - yes
but the podcasts were brilliant. Can't argue against that.
I never quite 'got' NMH
They're dull.

Yeah
their influences are great. Problem is, they're a pretty sub-par garage rock/punk band. I can name quite a few other bands doing exactly the same thing as them at the moment, so I can only put their success down to their clothing style.
Apparently the new album is different though. We'll see.
