everyone will blame you for an album low sales even if when you signed the band there was enough buzz: nme radar, DiS discover piece a good national tour etc and everyone at the label agreed that was a good signing. While an A&R could argue that he or she signed a potential 'next big thing' but the marketing people weren't able to market it. The worse thing is that everyone then will say that the band wasn't very good.

good to see that some of the writers on DiS can call themselves music journalists as many of them can barely write a review, i don't mean the editors but some of the contributors have a very poor music knowledge.
I agree with everything the guy wrote on this article and it is really really annoying but we created all this with our blogging and our downloading and discovering band and album before they see a release date. I can blame only myself for the status of this industry and the UK and USA music journalists are only giving us what we want. this is something that is not really happening in some other countries, they still think with their own brains and not with one giant BRAIN that says black kids are the next big thing with adele and lykke li. My next big thing last year was yeasyear and i'm glad they had some recognition. this year my next big thing are broken records. I like Adele, but she should have been signed by universal and not by XL... this is all very depressing.

Yeah, it is a comfortable post-rock album but you didn't mention the vocals and these are a point of difference between Aerial and their very evident influences. Post-rock purists won't like the the Sparklehorse falsetto vocals.

needs to market the album in some way and to build a profile for the sophomore album Citrus.
And the reviews are really good, the band didn't have any press out in the uk before i reckon the label, on little indian is only building up the band's profile.

saw them also at the barfly few months ago and they're good live but the album is not great and it also been slammed by few usa key magazines, good party band live but boring album.

i saw them twice and i would never point them as one of the best band at the festival!!!

Laurence bell has to spend all the money he made with the monkeys or is gonna be overtaxed! And we can also say that he didn't have a brazilian buzz band yet.
