I think he's right.

I think he has a point, not everyone who makes music is Bono like rich...ok he has a decent house and studio but he's a musician,he is allowed these things.

I love how some people, not all I'm not gonna brand everyone in the same way here, think music should be a free commodity .If you took 2 years of your life to do something would you just give it away for free. You don't go work and expect not get paid do ya.

Speaking as a musician, yeah it should always be about the music but if its your only source of income at least give us a chance to earn a living just like anyone else.

Never in a Million Years....

err Snow Patrol and Biffy Clyro.....in the same sentence.Dont get me wrong i have nothing against Snow Patrol,my musical taste is broad enough to like Eyes Open but Biffy are and always will be a more daring outfit than SP.The single is great, the album is mint and Ive just got back from watching them in Wolverhampton. The bollocks!!! A1 top notch outfit.
Mon the Biffy!!!!

Eww looks like T

Is'nt that the T in The Park ine up as well...?

I'm over 25 and live outside London...

........ I really really did'nt understand the fuss for Bloc Party at all back in 2005.Its a funny thing really because I tend to do exactly the opposite to what NME,DiS,Q etc etc say about alot of the so called 'Hyped bands'. Then by chance I heard Pioneers on the radio and decided to check out Silent Alarm.Converted ever since and I do think AWITC is a fine attempt at the usually awkward 2nd Album. The production is a tad more slick and I do think its not quite reached the heights of their first effort but I do think Bloc Party offer alot more in regard to intersting indie music than some of the other so called "hyped " up bands around at the moment.
Song for Clay does have Muse overtones about it but is a cracking tune and The Prayer,Uniform,Kreuzberg

I dont live in London but some of the songs on this album do ring home to me and the feelings I have when I visit the capitol. You dont have to be a Londoner to understand whats being sung about on this album and you dont have to be under 25 either.....

Its an 8 out of ten for me and I understand why Bloc Party recieved the "hype" they did.

"Ive got a taste for Blood".....

Biffy and Bloc on the same bill......nice.
Wolverhampton may get my attention.

So famous people have no opinion...

Bit lame to say he should'nt be entitled to say what he thinks and lets be honest about it,theres some pretty daming evidence against the Bush administration towards 9/11. There are far more unanswered questions which they need to address.

I suggest some of you watch 911 Loose Change 2nd edition....

Top man

Well it should be a good days listening.I for one will be getting the new album, his performances at V were amazing, even if you're not into his music you cant fault the guys ability to entertain the crowd, even so the Music was superb.' Nausea' is a great tune.

Not there but know where you are coming from

Yeah well i could'nt make this gig but I caught his set at V in Weston Park and he was amazing. Not to take anything away from Radiohead but for me Beck was the act of the day.His band, the puppets, the flow of the stage show and the sound they produced was superb.Pure entertainment from someone who knows how to get your attention and hold it.

Its a shame he did'nt do more dates over here on this tour, one of the best live performances Ive seen for a long time.Great stuff, cant wait for the new album in October.

I sometimes wonder...

Am I in the minority when it comes to the Artic Monkeys...Ive never ever thought there music warranted the hype.I find it all perplexing really.I think the DIS article is spot on,if the award is for music alone other artists deserved it in my opinion.Yep,I'll agree they've had an impact but I always thought the Mercury looked beyond all the media blitz.

Perhaps i'm just not with it anymore.who knows?

Towers... Cambridge gig chaos

I've not seen many comments about there music, its all about everything else.Sounds about right, bands need to use other methods other than there songs to get attention. Its a shame that.

Take your hamper out: Scissor Sisters to headline V2005

They are a good live act and they may have had the biggest seeling album of last year but they are not headliners in my eyes.
Needs to be a bigger name really.

The Libertines: not over

Hyped up i'm afaid and always have been.there a thousand and one unsigned bands up and down the country who deserve more success. Its a shame we live in a music industry thats dictated by the likes of NME darlings.

They should move on......they had there crack at the whip and fucked it up,bye bye Libertines.

B&S the best band in Scotland. Ever. Ever... Ever!

Well I think the list is only relevant to the time its done.If it was 1974 it would be the Bay City Rollers,if it was 1985 it would be Simple Minds and if it was 1999 Travis would have won.

B&S the best Scottish band ever,i dont think so but I will say Scotland has produced some fine bands as the list shows.

Rap with a capital C: 50 Cent gets bottled off

I posted earlier on here and I stick by what I said walking away from an artist or even the entire crowd turning there backs on him and being quiet would have had more of an impact on them.

For those who think bottling is justified, your'e all just sheep.Wake up,smell what you're shoveling.
There are leaders and there are followers,I dont think I will post another comment about this subject. You know which catergory you fall into if you were there.

Peace.

Rap with a capital C: 50 Cent gets bottled off

Well I was'nt there and I aint a fan of 50 cent but I dont think he should have been treated this way.All I can give you is the perspective from playing on stage.Bottling an artist is expected but that doesnt mean its right. If you were in the crowd doing this think about this the next time you dont like someone at a festival. The one thing an artist needs is an audience,it would have been a much more impressive display from the reading crowd if everyone just walked away from the stage and left him playing to himself. That hurts an artist more than bottles, knowing no one wants to listen to you.

Pyschological damage is far more potent than physical.

Peace .

You good, good people: Embrace save V

Embrace are quite a a decent band, they have some cracking tracks to fall back on and I do think they warrant a second billing above Jet anyway. As for them saving V,i dont know about that but I thought the festival was one of the weakest line ups until I got there.I had an ace time,it's what u make it at the end of the day.
Here's to next year.
