this is super childish but

my boner skipped a pulse when I thought that Little Boots was fingering Natalie Imbruglia AND All Saints.... super-apollies.

the couldn't

sue you I don't think.
You can only sue someone for a breach of a duty of care or breach of contract (generally speaking) and for damages/losses sustained as a result of that breach. You don't have a contract with them and don't owe them a duty of care and they won't have suffered any damages or losses as a result of you publishing the photos on a website, so they would fail. They might threaten to do it but they wouldn't actually go through with it cos it has no chance of success.

Fiendish pedant alert

"Encouragable" should probably read "incorrigible"...

Sorry.

^ exactly

I think they probably don't get any exposure to some of the better quality "indie" stuff that is out there - their world probably revolves around major label signings which won't be as interesting, by definition, as some of the non-major stuff. They could do with thinking about stuff before they open their mouths unless its all just to get in the papers cos they have a new record coming out - which is probably what it is all about, which is sad.

I feel sorry for them.

^ agreed

I think Fionn Regan is great so if this is supposedly better than him it'll have to be pretty great. Fionn is an excellent plucker of guitar strings too and he has a great way with a melody.

your ears

are painted on. the harmonies are a large part of what makes them great.

Yes he did...

that was a great album - I think it was around 2002.

Yeah

I wasn't being pedantic for the sake of it, more pointing it out for comedic effect. I just thought it was funny!

Please remember

that it was Standing on the Shoulder of Giants - no "s" at the end of Shoulder. This was because, as Liam explained it, the geezer's obviously only got one shoulder.

total

speedos.

As much as I dislike

Borrell and some/most of his music, I think headlines like this (whilst grounded in some sort of fact) are a little bit sick.

Borrell is I think more odious than his music. His music could be worse but he's just such a dickhead that it makes me hate his music more.

because it

broke new ground I think. Samples and shizzle innit.

the other list

i.e. disc 1 is better for me. It has most of my favourites on it.

I agree with you

but I would say that its probably more likely that a typical tracksuited Chav/Ned will come from a working class family, would you agree? I suppose any idiot teen can be a violent teenager but again, its less likely for middle/upper teens to exhibit such behaviour probably.

This isn't really a topic suitable for discussion on these boards mind you. There are much wider social implications like teenage drinking, the reasons for that, the failure of the state to provide youths with stuff to do, the breakdown of the family unit, poor education etc. I'm assuming that a Chav or a Ned is less likely to have tried at school and doesn't have a good education leading to low income and disenchantment with their lot - especially in today's society where people see "celebs" doing nothing and getting paid to be a dick on TV. Jail beckons, criminal records and things just get tougher.

Having said all that, I'm digressing, I think this discussion is more about teenage violence which is less easy to deconstruct. Some people are just violent I suppose, thankfully a vast minority. Apologies for this rambling post.

I like

the second last sentence of this review. Thank you for making the review mercifully short.

the best bit is

"But surely there must be some good in the world somewhere, right?
My wife has an interesting physique and I find it pleasing."

That is frickin hilarious. Laugh? I almost shat.

I think its

interesting that the reviewer chose to mention the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and the Sex Pistols in this review. Is Duffy worthy of that allusion?

I think

he should have been briefed - I think any interviewee will respond better to pointed questions if briefed. If he knows what the point of the article is then he can give a proper account of himself. He was probably just trying not to come across as a d*ck given the barbed question or two.

you can't compare onions

and oranges.

pop is

a tune that melts the hearts of metallers and grandmas alike. No one can deny good pop; it is better than all of us.

I don't agree with...

Knightboat. I think they're great live. I've seen them 3 or 4 times now and I'm going again on Thursday night. They're very exciting, they've got a huge sound and they're fun to watch. I do agree about there being an issue with the vox on the EP though; I think sometimes its a little low in the mix, I don't think its "off" though. Anyway that's my tuppence - I hope they "go places". PS so what if they were waist coats.

Slow Parade

is a great tune. I liked Russian Song too, its not on the EP though, they need to release that.

broken records...

are very good and nice lads as well. I agree that they coudl make waves in 2008.
