Rock Werchter In Belgium this year was completly free of uk yobs and was better organised better priced and had a a better line up than all of the major uk festials put together this year !!

Glastonbury has been no good since its been on tv , V festival was good for the 1st few years but in recent times line ups and hve become incredibly bland since its been smothered with commercial advertising and virgin radio meadia friendly blands !!!

Reading festival has the best lines ups but is the most crowded of all the sites and full of drunken teenage yobs

For a one off festival you cant beat Lovebox but that was full of kids out on the piss this year too!! As was Field day last year !!

This country has been ruined for a long while now . Great if you like yobs and pissheads .HoweverIf you are civilised and are really into your music and don't think alcohol is that important part of a festival experience then i suggest you go abroad !!The line ups are far more eclectic out of the uk too!

Tons of great music out there at the moment eg recent lp releases by Cage the elephant ,infadels ,wave picture white denim, midnight juggernauts all in the last few months !! If you watched glasto and t in the park like me however you'd be bored shitless watching tedious topman rock and bands who are half good but massively overexposed now such as the feeling,scouting for girls,kooks !!!Kaiser Chiefs fall into this category !!If they have made an original lp like zooropa or kid a i'll take their hats off but i very much doubt it !! If they had released an lp called Britain is now a shithole and written tracks called Don't speak to the press,Shoot the Politicans ,If you don't like it here fuck off etc etc id have loads of time for them !! All mainstream bands are not interesting anymore becuause they are not usually radical enough in either musical ideas lyrics or attitude to encourage free thinking !! U need to listen to the punk scene which still keeps music and ideas fresh and the bands refuse to sell out or compromise just to get radio play !! Yesterday i listened on myspace to the german punk bands the Bovver Boys and the Ruckers and they blew me away yet no-one in the pathetic uk media will touch them !!!

Hip hop or rap warrants articles or reviews on a rock site . I am absolutely sick of reading and heraring it everwhere and believe it's one of the primary reasons why the country is terriblly fucked at present !!!

Rock Werchter being my first ever european festival despite going to at least 50 in the uk in the last 25 years !!I won't ever go to a large uk festival again !! I saw no drugs ,no fights ,no crime and only several pissed up people who were all very good natured !! The stages more or less ran like clockwork the only cancellation i heard about was babyshambles (to be expected -(why they book these junkies is beyond me !!)There was no long walk between stages and an incredible atmosphere that pisses on large corporate uk festivals ! A far better choice of headliners rem neil young and radiohead than glastonbury - a much later finish ,shuttle buses that ran virtually every 5 minutes , - free travel to the nearest town from any station in belgium !! Only downside was stinking bogs and poor choice of food but that happens at virtually every festival !

Going back to zoo festival i will give my money and respect to the bands who played and not not those who didnt !!Most bands play free festivals when they are on the way up or when it suits their marketing needs ! Its obviously bands like the Hives,Cribs Gallows just love playing live whereas the bands that cancelled where selfish bastards who only thought of themselves when confronted with a diffciult situation !!Im sure the organisers budgetted for a bigger crowd hence the financial problems they ran into . The finances proabbly also resulted in the problesm with the toilets,showers etc not being fixed!!However from what ive read all the bands that played were on the whole excellent !! Why the hell have a VIP area at a festival ? Its not needed and asks for trouble . A zero tolerance level towards drugs and underage drinking would solve lots of the other problems !!And im afraid lots of people on here are slagging off the festival like they did Field day last year without giving it proper thought !! That was a wicked festival and the queues at the bar actually made it better as there were less pissheads around than normal !!A festival is an open air event where you go to see live music -if you dont like queues ,lots of pissed people ,camping in bad conditions and all the crime that goes with it in the uk then just get a day ticket or go abroad as i did !!!The uk is completley full of yobs these days without the respect and good manners that the other europeans still have . Get real please !!

Stop giving all this publicity to hip hop !!Its a horrible genre and i for one would ban it from this site !! Skinhead or anrcho punks don't get a look in but hip hop is everywhere o here !! Cant u tell its not great music !!!!

right - i no nowt about underground hip-hop yet can you loads about rock n roll 60's soul,blues,jazz reaggae heavy rock ,motown ,most indi bands , folk,punk n oi music etc ete but very little about rap !! This because i'm not a particular fan of the genre unless its incerdibly well done and i think there are generally speaking lots of better genres of music out there .But mostly its the aspiration of gangsta lifestle that puts me and millions of others off this type of music !!

I tell it like it is which is why most of the current youth havn't got a f**ing clue about music as they been brainwashed by the liberal do gooders at the bbc !!

Music with a few classic exceptionss eg old school classics like sugarghill gang ,grandmaster flash etc and some Of Eminem which has incredibly clever lyricd and msuic to match has nothing intersting to say and no music of note to go with it !!Its all about bitches bling guns drugs and crime . Unfortunately its influence has spread to the mainly black undereducated classes in the uk cities today hence the current spate of stabbings/shootings are certainly influenced by rap music in some way !!Im not in favour of censorship but like amy winebag and pete dickhead it certianly doesnt deserve the press and publicity it gets !! Gilmour is a classic quality rock musician that Jaz Z coul;d never be !!I think we're witnessing the end of of glastonbury festival as it was this year !!Jay z is at rock werchte in belgium half way down the bill where he should be -REM Radiohead underworld chemical brothers even deus are all rated higrer than him there and rightly so !! Middle of exam period ,leeds uni ball the night before -most people into primal scream are far too old to be students !!! There are far too many festivals which are all far too expensive except maybe Field Day !If dickheads and touts didnt buy all their tickets months in advance but decided naerer the time based on weather,how much dosh they have etc festivals would go back to what they were like in the 80's ie a much better place !! Who are the idiots paying £300 for reading tickets on e-bay by the way ? all dickheads of the highest order !!

That a generation of people growing up are believing drug addicts are the coolest people around . The parents,schools and media are failing big time and you have to faer for this countrys future !!You didnt rerlly used to get dickeads into rock musicin 70's to 90's (they all used to wear slip on shoes and were into bland disco and soul ) now its full of them as i witnessed in Camden last Saturday -very sad days indeed !!

It was good fun but very poor value for money compared to great escape or field day !! Friday had a nice crowd but Saturday as i predicted was full up of pissed up twats who made it slightly depressing . Red stripe sponsering it was a backward move and im not sure allowing under 18's to the open air stage was good either !!If it carries on in this vein it will become a glorified kids piss up and seriopus music fans will give it a miss!!

I object Strongly to queing so did the crawl seeing untrendy bands with no need to queue ! This is what i saw day/afternoon on both days in order with marks out of 10

Glastonbury probably deserves to go now -its got far too big for its boots,it isn't value for money ,can be an almighty ordeal if the weather isn't obliging and the heeadliners are kak this year !! He is not scared to voice his opinion something that too many rock stars are !! And he's headlined the damn festival in the past so hes defintaely entitled to his views !!Unlike radiohead who may be more intelligent than him but wouldnt play it for environmental reasons !!! How can teenagers afford £160+ ??-they are either at school ,studying or on very low wages !! Eavis has a screw loose me thinks cos even most middle aged people on average incomes are struggling with money right now !!

The headlimers are not the problem -nor is the line up not being announced (these are only problems for teenagers)-the best bands will be on the samll stages anyhow which are not televised

My suggestion !!

Is choose a smaller festival - in london eg last year field day was great so was lovebox , the clapham bank holiday one was a good day out theres the free kenfest in finsbury park and the denmark street freebie and the wireless festivals whic are corporate but get good line ups!! then theres loads of smaller fantastic ones all over the country -guilfest is great and never sells out!! I would love to try latitude one day or the one in brecon beacons !! Glastonbury is past its best-foregt and move on !

Including Bowie,Muse,new Model army,Hawkwind,hope of the states,franz ferdinand but wont be sad to see it go !! Its the right size for gigs but has worst security and worst bar in London and upstairs (apart from the 1st row)is really too far back to get properly into the band !! Islington Academy stupidly slagged off on here is a great new venue and Koko and The Scala are both much better !!Also Several bands now play there like they do Brixton after releasing only one album which is wrong wrong wrong!!We should get more gigs at smaller venues now by bands like New Young pony club who played astoria last year when they wern't anywhere near ready for it !!

It should be redundant -It just amounts to lazy journlaism as the sheep all head for the herd of bands jetsetting over there !! There are far too many bands playing to get an informative opinion about who is a buzz band - if 70% of all the the bands there do a storming set thats a hell of a lot of buzz bands!! Btw camden crawl isnt a cutting edge festival btw !! The biggest queues and buzz is to see people like amy winehouse play the dublin castle or the Charlatians paly koko - there are good new bands on but there are queues everwhere and the festival isnt suitable for aor people !!They will often only catch 2 or 3 songs of a set !! The best way to a & r is to go to bull & gate,dubln castle,monarch etc and watch new bands headline in a natural envirionment !!But journalists are lazy and like their freebies !!

Observations but bad journalism and factually wrong all over !! A lot of the songs you have slagged off they do indeed still play live and Know your enemy is indeed a cracking lp as Tsunami and You stole the sun are great singles !!They are a great live band who have lived through a rollercoaster of emotion and put out far better records with great lyrics and deep intensity of feeling than most of their contemporairies and they are interested in life and politics not boy meets girl which is what makes them stand apart!! Compared to Oasis they have 100 times more to say !! I personally feel they are still a very underrated band -untrendy and not succumbing to the media ! More power to them i say !!
