Record-Breaking £5000 Fine for Fly Postering
I Like the idea of designated fly posting bill boards, but why should the big labels with their big budgets get the chance to advertise for free? Smaller local bands ok, but as things are right now, the big labels would just come and take the site over with their huge A0 size posters. How can we make it fair for the small bands with their home made A4 posters?
Street teaming is a pain too (from the viewpoint of someone who works in a venue and has the job of removing your stickers from out newly painted walls.) And what about these people in city centres giving out flyers (Mainly in student areas) they are another huge source of litter. Where will this all end? While small bands are being persecuted, the big labels just get away with it. A 5 grand fine is cheap advertising to sony where it could bankrupt a small label or band.
