I'm going bowling with Hayley and The Paramores tonight
MY LIFE PWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWNS!
album sticker
In essence, this is probably what would happen if Refused wrote pop songs for Kelly Clarkson.
This gets double thumbs up.
Potion Approaching and Pretty Visitors are the best tracks on the album
But I'm sad that there's no incredible stand out tracks like 'Do Me A Favour' and '505'.
Still, pretty happy with it on the whole. Just don't expect it to blow your mind.
actually Claire, you are bang wrong
Never is this a 4/10 album. By no means perfect, it's still consistently better than Meds (which has some outstanding moments, but a lot of filler).
Also, any reviewer that uses 'Meh' shows someone devoid of any creativity in their writing.
I'd give it a solid 7.5/10
^ this
Please never write for DiS again. Or learn to write a music review and then come back.
jesus
is this really the standard of reviewing that's allowed on DiS these days!?
^
idiot
how incredible did
Setting Sun sound.
Wow, just wow.
from what i can remember
and in no order:
Out Of Reach
Into Oblivion
Juneau
Escape Artists Never Die
Storytelling
She Drove Me to Daytime Television Streetcar
Roses for the Dead
Hospitality, History
10:45 Amsterdam Conversations
Beneath The Burning Tree
Waterfront Danceclub
You Can't See The Wolves For All the trees (or something like that - a new song)
That's what I can remember
anyone at KCLSU last night
basically a greatest hits set and was fucking incredible.
Randomly selected my arse
Adam wins a trip to Nashville every year courtesy of Mr Jack Daniels.
And now he wins this!!
Brooks - you know someone on the inside don't you.
You owe me one of these trips for Primal Scream at 229. Fact.
I was at this press conference
And he didnt mention Radiohead so really putting them in the news story is just a way of attracting traffic.
PR exercise???
maybe
Lupe
Fucking amazing.
The Cool is one of my albums of the year so far.
Fantastic album
This and Lupe Fiasco's The Cool are my fave albums of the year so far.
Awesome.
The London gig at ICA
was awesome. Going to the ULU gig next month too and can't wait.
I'll be going to the Astoria too. It's a Friday too!!
This is possibly my favourite track from the album
and the album likewise is amazing.
defo my favourite release of the year so far.
shite video though.
are they actually any good live?
10/10
This gig was 10 times better than Brixton...and Brixton was amazing.
No mention for '23' being the best song of the set. What a gig.
very hash
defo and 8/9 out of 10 record.
I adore it.
They're supporting Get Cape in April too. Winner.
haha
I am king blag!
As a band who has a number of labels in their time,
what are views on the record industry as it stands and how do you feel about In Rainbows as a case study for giving away an album for free? Is this something you would ever consider doing?
how come they get a widget on the story!
eh!? eh!?
yay!
still haven't seen them live.
how do instores work at pure groove? first come first serve or can you go and get wrist bands in the days leading up?
oh
and this wasn't supposed to be announced until tomorrow.
Thanks.
Best
Tom
I entered.
I'm not telling my suggestion though.
Come on Sean
Since when did social networking stats really equate to ticket sales/album sales etc. ok, it may do in some cases, but with Justice? I'm not so sure.
Justice are a band that will attract any number of flippant and fickle fans that will just add them as friends or whatever the equivolent is on each site in my opinion.
I don't think this will sell out and I'll tell you what; if it does I shall come to the next DiS London event in a stupid outfit of your choice.
yay
i made september.
not to be one to blow the trumpet
but you can get a free download of a brand new album track at www.myspace.com/getcapewearcapefly
JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAG!
why?
So you pay £42.50, plus an usual booking fee and transaction fee, you get there and you'll have an awful view and the sound will be poor.
the full title is actually
Lupe Fiasco - 'Lupe Fiasco's The Cool'. Not just 'The Cool.'
Genius video
Jake's drumming - always to be done on a trampoline from now on?
I think so.
PopShop = very good.
exactly.
to be fair. they are the worst band ever.
i'm famous
this isn't news.
First album - great
second album - great
credit - none.
you missed out the Astoria
not that I care.
Dockers MC
owns!!
that above statement
is beyond the rediculous.
I got very excited
as I read this headline as though he had been dropped from the band.
Sadly, they continue.
I think it'll be Klaxons
but I want it to be Maps.
whenever i see this band's name i also think
Barenaked Ladies.
I met him there last year.
Sean took a pic on his phone. That night is stuff of legend.
I really hope we're on the same table again this year.
Bare jokes. Jokes about bears.

Genuinely one of my favourite albums of the year
I won't disagree with a majority of this review - pretty well written and does point to a few flaws on the record.
However you can't argue that as a slice of UK pop-punk it's pretty damn good. And I can't think of many other UK bands doing it with such consistancy on record.
In fact, the influx of influences on the record is one of the reasons I like it so much...and since when has that necessarily been a bad thing?
