Left or right from the Butlins entrance

for this Morrisons, then?

That John Allison shop is MEGA.

I want the Space Dinosaur.

Great closing sentence

Looking forward to this ever so. Got it saved on my offline playlists on my spotify/HTC for tomorrow's commute...

You & Me is the tits.

Me too!

:'(

Will have to listen to this, then.

Good review.

I just ended up reading all the Timothy Winchester stuff

I did enjoy this, though.

Just wasn't feeling it

will give it another spin sometime.

That Arctic Monkeys album, based on one listen.

A bit boring.

My housemate has been listening to Los Camps a lot recently

they are starting to jar. Used to love 'em.

Only heard Fuck Buttons, Four Tet, Errors and Blood Red Shoes. Best crack on. Except Kate Nash. I think she's a bit crap.

We chained ourselves to benches

to stop the tides of Bumford fans sweeping us into the lake. Insane. Mark Watson's amiable derision of those leaving his set in the comedy tent to watch Bumford was brilliant, "look at her go, she's well Mumford".

Just ordered 2 on Live Nation.

It was letting me do it before 9am, which was nice.

The review sums it up

I like it but I can't think when I will be in the mood to listen to it more than, oh, once a month. Impulsive purchases based on singles be damned. Its like I'm 14 again.

Great review

great album

Great closing paragraph

Reckon I'll pick this up on saturday

I love going to RT.

It's gonna be a bugger trying to buy these

work PLUS Stereophonics fans. Gahhh.

Bloody awesome.

If its half as good as Sea Lion I will probably wet myself.

I'll try not to.

Naw

from the boards!

Ha

that Lust for Life video (hardcore) was a, erm, surprise.

Over to myspace I go

A friend has been banging on about this for ages.

Holy fuckin' balls.

Are we not trusted to be able to read a paragraph of normal length?

This isn't the BBC website.

Are we not trusted to be able to read a paragraph of normal length?

This isn't the BBC website.

I'm glad Actor is there

considering its complete omission by Rough Trade :)

So sure of themselves in their point

that they end it with, "I am probably right too."

Words fail me.

Had Animal Collective had the same exposure as Paramore though

with previous albums? AC have been lauded by critics for ages but its only now that you'll hear them in HMV wheareas, well, Paramore were on a Guitar Hero game, which, as we know, is the real measure of success these days :/

They were great supporting Slow Club

at the Joiners in September...

This review is like listening to Lightning Bolt

Tremendous.

Bugger

HOT SHIT

Two dates at 10 years eh!

Good interview link

never seen this before, thanks.

Mankind is so awesome

I'm looking forward to this so much. Roll on payday. Got Some is so fucking good.

Which Nick Cave song?

Please.

One of the best live bands I saw at Latitude in 2008

or ever, in fact.

In Another World is good.

I like Wraithlike too. The rest is pretty pish :(

I watched a bit of Jesus Lizard and didn't get it. Shame.

And I was really disappointed by Marnie Stern. More so by her sleaze of a basis, who decided that she'd encourage sexist views of herself and her pal. CLEVER.

The last paragraph is perfect.

I've quit downloading now, it just makes me feel like a bastard. I know people who have a ridiculous amount of music on their laptops etc but how much of it do they actually listen to? There was a good interview on here with Geologist from Animal Collective and he made a great point that an album you don't like can be a lot easier to return to if you have a physical copy, otherwise you just forget about it as it becomes submerged into all the other mp3s on your pc.

People complain about the deluge of shite (Fratellis, Hoosiers etc etc) but if people didn't gorge themselves so much then this gash wouldn't get made.

Another good piece.

That's cos it had the lyrics to Once, A Glimpse in it

I can never remember the order of the verses to that song.

So this is where all of DiS's PJ fans have been hiding

interesting review. Ten is a pretty bizarre album in context but I still love it. Listened to Vs yesterday and the anger is much better than the earnestness.

To be fair, Eddie Vedder was pretty fucked up for most of the nineties.

I like this album

not so sure about the review. Half of it is about the cover!

"an album which has been improbably maligned in a few places yet is spectacular"

Last time I checked an opinion was an opinion, not a fact.

Agreed on the second point

but the live renditions of the new songs at Latitude were just dull and Into The Chaos (the only finished track I've got from Radio Wars) is ok but nothing special.

The first album was haunting but all the signs point to this being watered down.

Lots of bands write good b-sides that get pushed off albums. This doesn't mean they have to resurface like this a la Arcade Fire. It was a better song before (and it had a different name).

Probably in the minority but

Intimacy is my favourite Bloc Party album. Most consistent imo.
