I will never understand...
...why everyone hates Make Believe so much. The pitchfork review in particualr is completely ridiculous.
I can usually see most points of view if I try really hard, but this one is way beyond me. I genuinely love it.
Sounds as pant-wettingly good...
...as her Tokyo show - also the live highlight of the year so far for me.
Army Of Me, Wanderlust and Hyperballad all totally blew me away. Spot on about the 'visual wizadry' too - I hadn't seen anything like it before.
It is a wee bit...
...Counting Crows isn't it? Without the anguished whine. Was trying to put my finger on who the slight soundalike was and now the finger has been happily placed...
By the way...
...what's with all the moon imagery?
It's taken me a fair few listens...
...but I agree with this review and don't really understand all the "bad review" comments. Fact is that PATD are always going to attract those kinds of comments because - let's face it - it's not cool to like them. Brave move then to give it an 8 and brave move to make an album like this is the first place. I was firmly closeted on liking the first album (I actually liked it a LOT) for similar reasons, but consider me outed. Yay, Panic.
I think this review...
...is a little bit silly.
The album's not even that much of a radical departure from JEW's (admittedly) better stuff of old.
"Slick and polished?" Yes.
"Songs really blow?" No. Throwaway comment.
7 for me.

They bore me to tears...
...they really do.
I actually own all of their albums to date but I'm not sure why: I don't think I've listened to Parachutes or X&Y more than once. The latter was DULL.
I've certainly never had a "ooh, I feel like listening to a Coldplay album" moment. They just don't fit any given mood.
