A is the answer
A) 'The Past Is A Grotesque Animal'
I believe...
its Answer A!
memories
he supported Arcade Fire at their first UK gig at kings college. even win didnt know who he was.
very very strange support. what a gig...
you're very wrong
this is an excellent review of a very promising band. if you're going to be dismissive of an album be constructive. saying just 'balls' is just lazy
the cribs
were fantastic at the water rats in march, one of the best gigs ive ever been to.
albums bound to leak anytime soon too!
T
Sigur Ros were amazing in the pet sounds arena last year. better organised then reading, and there are less annoying drunk public school brats clogging up the place
af
have made a good point, i dislike bands who actively seem to want evrryone in the whole world to listen to them and are prepared to do anything for it (ie that imfamous quote by ricky wilson about jacking off a tramp)
and mr alex head, good super troopers reference!
all of a sudden...
...is definetely a grower, compared to their last album which was the opposite. at first i liked the album, now i think its brilliant
and my tickets came today for the koko gig. if its as good as the 2005 islington garage gig we're in for a treat
argh!
i so want to go to this. shame ive not got the money, or friends who would be willing to go with me...
modest mouse are playing a ATP show at the royal albert hall on the 23rd of may (has that been announced on here?) so it wouldnt be a surprise to see them playing at minehead...
bullshit
emo, schemo, its still shite whatever genre it is. i didnt like the review because its utterly wrong and hugely sycophantic. im sure the band would love to hear that they're 'good, clean, fun pop'
and that song title about suicide is fucking retarded
no silent alarm
if silent alarm is in the top 6 i couldnt take this list seriously.
im sure Dis posted a story a while back about how the NME was forced to change its top albums of the year (putting silent alarm at 1 instead of arcade fire). surely Dis isnt under the same pressures? probably not, but i cant explain why silent alarm could be above funeral, or EITS (wrong album totally, HSI was released somewhat reluctantly) or about 50 other albums...but maybe im just crazy
razorbore
i remember first seeing this band at the joiners in southampton over a couple of years ago, and it was a really good show. i was a fan for a while until they released golden touch (which was shit)but this band simply have not progressed since that gig - their albums are poor anbd how they want to capture the radio 2 audience is just sad. they did some good early singles for indie clubs, but have been shit since then. they bore me to death, and why does xfm play this so much!
funeral marches
i think i want 'my father my king' by mogwai. not only do i like it a lot, it'd also annoy people at the same time. it'd have to be played very loud as well
matador
this is my favourite record label ever ever for a few reasons,,,,tho ive read interpol have left them now
errm
arcade fire - funeral
turn on the bright lights - interpol
the earth is not a cold dead place - explosions in the sky
the strokes - is this it
love is hell pt 1 - ryan adams
( ) - sigur ros
lennons
saw mystery jets there a while back, its tiny, a bit of a dive and its fucking hard to get a good view. so it'll be a good gig!
i think its about 100, or around that mark
scala
just got a ticket to the scala, get in!
reading thefts
i lost my phone during the cribs set at reading despite it being in my front jeans pocket. think it was more a case of being knocked out of my pocket rather then being nicked
the quiet area at reading was white camp which was across the river. the powers that be stupidly decided to put all traffic in there on thursday and left two archaic boats to get people across but thats another story.
there is no way to stop crime at festivals, if cunts want to nick stuff they will. just dont take ipods, take copied cds instead of the originals, take a 12.99 stereo from asda instead of the one you got for xmas. wear beaten up converse instead of spanking new ones...its common sense. its a risk, but its one you have to take (even tho you shouldnt have to)
sadly, life can be shit. and at the end of the day, losing an ipod isnt that BAD compared to some crimes that go on
bo
remember seeing them support the earlies at the borderline a few years back, good stuff
v
my girlfriend is a regular goer, and i do mock her for it
but radiohead are worth it, and i might have to go on ebay nearer the time to get a ticket. why couldnt they play T the bastards!
spiritualized
a spiritualized gig performing either Lazer guided melodies (200 bars would be amazing) or LAGWAFIS would be astounding. not likely to happen...Spiritualized live at the royal albert hall is a great live album of the vast majority of LAGWAFIS songs....
mind you, id give my right arm to see the title track performed by Jason with a full gospel choir
Franz Ferdinand - Do You Want To
maybe mike diver wasnt the right person to review it. he quite clearly dislikes anything that sells more then a few hundred copies. he probably thinks he's being original by slaughtering this song
Arcade Fire: no more gigs 'til next album
even though im a huge fan, it'll be hard to top funeral - though maybe im being a pessimist.
No Ozzy equals the What-Fest? Singer to step down in 2006
ozzy really should retire completely he should think of what legacy he want's to have. ok i dont like his music, but black sabbath are considered as one of the kings of their genres. he's becoming a joke, and his wife should be silenced too...and his kids should be too!
Back to Bluntdom: Your 'Beauty' Corrupted The Kids
most people do have bad taste (or at least what people who come to this website would define as bad taste) but hopefully (and this what should keep people going) there'll be at least some people buying this c***'s music and will be inspired to get some good music when searching for more
perhaps im being too optimistic...
Arctic Monkeys tour
The Arcade Fire
The Arcade Fire
go see them at the astoria
Re: Long-View, Delays & Johnny Panic for Portsmouth charity gig

Re: The Arcade Fire - Funeral
