Darc

One of the nice new live efforts up for download at Underworldlive. Spoken word from what sounds like either Christopher Eccleston or Karl doing a convincing Manc =)

Small Conker And A Twix is worth getting too. Ambient instrumental a la Deep Arch.

Dunno

There's not been a tracklisting released so far, but I wouldn't have thought so. The Riverrun project was very self-contained, and got an "album" release of its own when it was condensed into that 30-minute best of. Knowing what they're like I'd say OWB will be all new stuff (bar some studio cuts of live anomalies), like how Second Toughest In The Infants didn't feature Born Slippy Nuxx despite the label leaning on them.

Be interesting to see what label picks this one up seeing as they've parted ways with V2.

Oblivion With Bells

That's what the new album's called. Anyone who's kept track of the Riverrun project they did the other year or downloaded the new live cuts from underworldlive.com will know it's gonna be a stonker.

PS Emerson's departure never hit them that hard, I felt. Cowgirl/Born Slippy Nuxx were written without him, and the album he had the most control over (Beaucoup Fish) was a big step down from the previous efforts. Smith and Hyde have always been the organ-grinders.

Damn & fishladder

They were fucking diamond. This has pissed on my bonfire like Guy Fawkes coming down off a Jimmy :(

Just toss a coin mate

Heads: 43 bits of Darren Hayman's imagination

Tails: Something that looks like it's been chiselled out of the tread on an Eddie Stobart lorry and then served to you in a cardboard bucket

Pizza For Eggs

Perfect for this sunny spell.

Shit Hot Chip

This is a wicked album, and will definitely be on a good few Best Of 2006s. Probably the most fun you can have with a CD this year, short of bluetacking one sideways into a microwave and pressing Start.

By the way, anyone seen Alexis Taylor and Eddie The Eagle in the same room at the same time..?

All got our dissins

He's done better, but then the first singles from the last two albums weren't the best he could do. I'm off the wagon of Streets-slating till I hear the album. Only sticking to Kalibre in the meanwhile :)

Did the person that wrote this review only listen to it the once?
