WILCO, MAN! bring it on!
brilliant article
the show at the spitz where i heard the drums and guns stuff is among the greatest things i've ever witnessed. i love the fucked up production and panning on that album by the way. hope they continue in that direction.
okkervil river
i don't get it
MENOMENA!
why why why?
album of the year by a stretch.
yes to this
drums and guns is unbelievable. belarus would make me weep if i wasnt so fuckin hard.
i flippin
love sennen. i really do. haven't bought this yet but its on the list.
i REALLY like hands on heads
that is all.
absolutely.
and live they are so intense. proper captivating. love it. 'That Summer, At Home I Had Become the Invisible Boy' is too good.
is there really an interpol song about having a threesome?
that's made my day
balls
that sucks
that's a shame
always had a soft spot for them. i bet matt and ben come up with some quality solo stuff though..
agree
really really enjoying it. liking the world-weary sounding damon a lot.
iraqwar/blair-damning stuff's becoming a bit tiresome now though innit...
does anyone else find
that with things you're supposed to love or hate, you generally think they're 'ok'? i think marmite's ok. and oasis. and the hold steady.
seconded
.
i love that album
and this one's got a few of the same tracks on it.. don't let the sun go down.., walking the cow, true love will find you..
a bit pointless surely.?
i'll still end up buying it though
yup this is ace.
5's pretty harsh.
i've always preffered his bleepier laptoppy recordings though. the boy's got a knack for bedroom production like no other.. mmmmmm lovely reverb..
its fair to say
the coke zero ad campaign is one of the most misguided and idiotic i've ever seen.who the fuck buys into that?! baffled.
i hate this bloke
saw him at kings student union and he was tosh. not heard the single though.. hope i never do!
one of the best live bands i've seen!
poor choice of single though. but better than a 5
you kinda did say you hadnt heard them before
when you said you hadnt heard hinm sing before.. didnt you?
and, yes, razorlight etc are being slated for churning out same old same old, but then again they've never really come up with anything original have they? not heard this sleepy album yet, but given that the first 2 releases were completely eccentric, original, eclectic and downright wonderful, i don't think you can put their follow-up into the same bracket as the bands you mentioned, as the sleepy j aren't following up something bland and cringeworthy.. hmm..
as for living up to the hype, what's that got to do with anything! forget about the opinions of build-em-up knock-em-down music journos a la nme etc. be OBJECTIVE. jeepers.
umm...
..you might want to rethink this one.
you've managed to explain how overrated you think the sleepy jackson are, how they don't deserve to be said in the same breath as flaming lips etc, and then admitted that you'd never heard luke steele's voice before!! hehe, well in sir. whatever your opinions on this song (which in my opinon is good but not as good as previous stuff, not that that measn anything to you) i'm not sure you've done your integrity as a reviewer much good here...
not got this yet
but their last mini-album 'widows' was absolutely incredible. tis my favourite choice for sleepy nightbus journeys home. can't wait to hear this.
how come
this album wasnt released by rough trade? being that its a rough trade comp n all.. weird, no?
it sounds like 1979
i love it
kitty on my foot
and i want to touch it!

although i ordered this WEEKS ago and stil havent got it. lazy, lazy transgressive.
