A) 'The Past Is A Grotesque Animal'

Dizzee Rascal

makes grime not garage, well he calls it grime at least...

That's the law

it may not be a law you agree with, it may not be a law you like, it may not even be a law you live by or live under but at the end of the day it's the law. There's not difference between someone here going this is wrong, than some terrorirst somewhere going it's wrong for us to imprison other terrorirsts, and if you say there is that my friend is just cultural imperialism. You go somewhere, you do something you're not allowed, you suffer the punishment they give; it's legal issues not moral ones we are talking about here.

Yes man!

I've been hitting up Gui Boratto for long, seriously that guy knows his stuff. Sadly he isnt coming to the UK on that tour it seems, think he was at Fabric sometime last year but I missed it, I've gotta start going to Saturdays there, fuck dnb man, that shit is past it.

Yeah neither am I

do you know how many tickets it gets us?

No

you should move to London. You know it makes sense.

Champagne?

Doesn't the song say whisky?

Yeah

cos Jet are the greatest thing to ever happen to music.

I

sing along at most gigs.

Some

of the politics was a bit 'obvious' how might you say but it was still a good gig. I'm just a bit confused how he said he was in England when the last US election took place so did he actually vote? and if not, does he really have any right to moan about the government?

I was talking

about the band as well, but in case you hadn't noticed most of D12 are black.

They

don't really look the same at all, maybe there are just no black people where you live.

Belle And Sebastian

Why didn't you review the Gang Of Four Barbican show, it was really good and Phil Jupitus was there.

Re: Mars landings: two shows before ATP

They were great at Brixton.

Re: It's alright - with Snow White

I know, I'm sorry, it's all I have.

It's alright - with Snow White

A poor Sonic Youth cover band.

Re: Terrorcore comes to town: The Locust swarm

"Melt Banana and The Locust in the same month"

Plus Sigur Ros, Explosions In The Sky and Squarepusher, it looks like a fantastic month.

Re: Terrorcore comes to town: The Locust swarm

Too...many...good...gigs...in...november

25 Years of 4AD - Shows galore!

Blonde Redhead, nice.

Re: Trachtenburg Family On Tour!

Yeah but will it be any good or just sort of, y'know, silly.

Trachtenburg Family On Tour!

I am very very tempted to go to one of these shows.

Re: Roots Manuva headlines benefit show

Yeah it's a real school, and I really went there, you can find it in Streatham Vale off Woodmansterne Road and (I think) something like Stockport Road.

Re: Roots Manuva headlines benefit show

No, that was filmed at my school well after I had left although my mum was still a governer then. The teacher woman is called Mrs Bright and she was/is (dunno) deputy head teacher.

Roots Manuva headlines benefit show

Roots Manuva went to my primary school.

Re: Kanye West: "Bush doesn't care about black people"

At least someones talking about this now but I doubt it will resonate much with middle America. The whole race issue of modern times has never been clearer in America than right now. Practically all the people featured on TV are black and had been forced into low land housing and many were so poor they could not even afford to get a bus out of the city in time. And as for driving out, forget about it, most of the people didn't even have a car. The fact is that America is deeply divided and this has illustrated how the poor are suffering. And from this we can see how most of the poor are black families.

Leeds: Error in Movies

There should be a tour of this stuff - the YMSS/Saul Williams stuff.

Re: Reading/Leeds: Radio 1 Stage

Seriously I don't know about Leeds but Blood Brothers at Reading. were significantly poorer than they have ever been. I don't want to be rude but I get the feeling that for a lot of these bands you had preconceived ideas about how you would review them eg. good, great, bad, suprisingly good, suprisingly bad etc.

Reading/Leeds: The Other Stages

You didn't review fourtet, even though he was in your preview. Weird.

Re: 27 beckon Brighter Days with September tour

Seriously, I swear that Isis gig must be the most mentioned one on this website.

Williams, Saul: single, tour

Oooo, that Electrowerkz thing looks good, but I might be in Reading then so, I probably won't be going. I'm gonna end up missing him at Reading as well due to clashes, sigh.

Re: EXCLUSIVE: Sigur Rós - UK November dates

The sound's not that bad at Brixton.

Re: EXCLUSIVE: Sigur Rós - UK November dates

I've just joined their mailing list, does that mean I'll get on their presale and does the presale apply to all the shows?

Re: No sleep 'til Croydon: Art Brut continue to 'h

Oh man, after my comment up above, this sure is embarrasing.

Re: No sleep 'til Croydon: Art Brut continue to 'h

Everytime I've been to the Cartoon before it's been to see a friends band, I didn't realise they did real gigs, apart from Iron Maiden tribute bands, and Anti Nowhere League reunions.

Re: No sleep 'til Croydon: Art Brut continue to 'hit the road'

D'you think it might be a brand new venue that probably hasn't got everything totally sorted yet?

No sleep 'til Croydon: Art Brut continue to 'hit the road'

THE CARTOON????? That place is a dump.

Peel and Dylan join UK's Hall of Fame

I'll bet you my right, no wait left (I'm not that sure) arm that they wouldn't be putting Peel in if he was still alive.

EXCLUSIVE: Four Tet tour with EITS

WOW, I wake up, get on the internet and now realise that two of the best gigs in the year are going to be right next to each other. SWEET. Bring on November!

Re: Imogen Heap - Speak For Yourself

Yeah but every time I hear it all I can think about is that bullet hitting Trey, oh well, he deserved it anyway.

Various - Test Match Special: titbits from the To Do pile

And I like Dressy Bessy.

Re: The Silent Type - Of Writing / Of Violence

http://gentlecollective.com/silenttype/

Down the right hand side, it is very good.

Hot Hot Heat - Middle Of Nowhere

This song is nowhere near as good as some of the other stuff they've done.

Sigur Rós

Wow, who's been to that sigur ros site where there is an abundance of tracks you can download and videos you can watch, sweet.

Re: Charlottefield - How Long Are You Staying

I just downloaded that song and WHAT THE FUCK, this doesn't sound like Paper Dart, this doesn't even sound like the live tracks I got off their website, this isn't what I thought they sounded like, I am confused. Damn good song though!

Charlottefield - How Long Are You Staying

I think I'll have to get this seeing as my Firewood/Loudmouth vinyl has got fucked up and I generally just want to buy everything Jonson Family issue. On the subject of that, where's the reissue of When Dracula Thinks... gone. Come on, I NEED a copy of that album!

Franz Ferdinand announce well-titled new LP

Robert Plant must be digging himself a grave just so he can spin it it.
