You're celebrating...
...by hitch-hiking?
Ooooo guntrip got zinged by Arfie
but good!
Bet you're smarting now, eh? No more smart alec comments from you, no sirree bob, just calm, measured, objective commentary from now on...

I'd Box Clever
either that, or I'd Box Fresh.
Hugely sad about this
I spoke to Ash at the Buffalo Bar recently, he was saying then that he thought things had probably gone as far as they were going to. One of the best bands I've seen in 25 years of gig-going, they will be sorely missed.
What sort of newt is that?
Isn't there a law against disturbing them? Good job they were filming a video and not building a bypass.
Foals DJing?
Their myspace says they're playing in Munich...?
24
Y
I did, but
found out too late, couldn't get to the gig so they put someone else down on the list, was promised a harmonica, never received it.
Sassy
What? A big siren should go off every time someone describes themselves as "sassy"
*u**
Why do you asterisk F*ck Buttons but spell out Holy Fuck in your article titles? Eh? Eh?
It's almost as though DiS is some kind of editor-less free-for-all...
Look out Edwin
This bloke wields a mean shovel...
Victoria Park
Wonder if it'll be as well-organised as Field Day...
Oh really
"Alarmed by the ridiculously high prices My Bloody Valentine reunion tickets are currently going for on eBay"
So will they keep adding dates until the bottom drops out of the market? Hmmm I wonder...
What's the answer? Who knows? Maybe a lottery where you have to enter your passport number, then bring it along on the night to gain entry. Yes, it excludes loads of people, but it's not like huge eBay prices are democratic or inclusive.
Anyone else got any ideas?
I wonder if this is
an attempt to derail eBay resales. Maybe the thinking is that if the face value is £40 then it's less likely the price will be driven much higher on eBay.
The thinking being, if it was £20 face value, then I might buy 2 and flog one for a profit - but at £40 I'm less likely to take the risk.
That said, given the crazy prices MBV tickets are already hitting (for a show in 6 months' time!) then I reckon this theory is a non-starter.
Or it could be something to do with supply chain problems on the World Puffin Market...
Oh, and
65daysofstatic, Charlottefield and Blood Red Shoes in 2005 :)
Hmmm
I think I'd probably rate Joy Division live at the Town Hall slightly higher :)
It's not the Eagles' "greed" that annoys me...
...it's the fact that there are (or might be) 2,300 people working in the "music industry" who can think about shelling out almost a grand to go to a gig. Presumably amongst their ranks there'll be a fair few who regularly bleat about "illegal downloads killing music"...
As requested, vitriol
All these bands are old, rubbish, or old and rubbish.
Except Sigur Sigur Rosnik, they did that David Attenborough soundtrack, I liked that.
And Tony Wilson, he's neither rubbish nor old, he's dead.
The Cinematic Orchestra
pretty please?
High Wycombe: Not All Crap
CounterCulture records in Desborough; live music back at the Nags Head, London Road; Pass Out Promotions; BCUC's highly-regarded music industry management course; the town where Youthmovies formed; home of one third of Try Harder Records (err, me)
OK, that's about it.
Fact: Wycombe District Council banned live music at the Town Hall after concert-goers and the band they had come to see engaged in bouts of spitting at one another. The band? Adam & The Antz...
Ahahahahahaha
BOLLOX!
What I *meant* to say, in my very best sarcastic tone of voice, was that there are two Os in PROOF, now I look like a total twat, so I'm going to shut up.
There's only one 'O'...
...in PROOF READ.
Surely...
re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-released, since it seems to have been out every year since '73...?
Is this a new World Record?
Does this mean that Foals will become the only band ever to have played with both Battle and Battles?
Wouldn't it be great if there was a band called Foal, then all 4 acts could play on the same bill?
OK, maybe not.
I've stopped now.
Them were t'days...
OGWT & The Tube...
<sigh>
Yip Yip Yaroo! But...
...let's hope it's more akin to 'Give Up' than 'Plans', since the former pwns while the latter is teh suXX0r (or something)
btw Monsieur Plongeur, am generally loving yr erudite prose, but surely it should be 'cry ye not' rather than 'cry thee not'?
<awaits name-calling>

Re: Komakino join NME New Music tour... Sign to Di
Although an emboldened i looks right in many fonts...
Sorry. I'll go now.
*gets coat*
Re: Komakino join NME New Music tour... Sign to Di
So now I'll have to stick to being pedantic and pointing out that it's ¡Forward Russia! rather than !Forward Russia!
Ho hum.
Komakino join NME New Music tour... Sign to DiS.
The Independent pick top 10 venues - what're yours
The Garage - despite arsey staff, I always seem to have a good time here; looks like a shithole, as all good venues should.
93 Feet East - a bit of a rabbit warren, and a bit Barley, great booking policy though; drinks a bit pricey.
The ICA - again, top sound every time I've been; I kinda like walking through art to get to the music.
The Cavern, Exeter - only been once, but a really nice venue; good food, good hospitality.
Re: Hurrah! YMSS to re-release
- if you want 'Ores', buy the single
- if you want the video for 'Ores', download it
- if you want the 65dos remix, it'll be on their website so you can download it
- heck, if you want the cover artwork for the repress, it's on their website now
maybe what's "screwing you over" is an obsessive need to own every piece of ymss-related paraphernalia going (in which case, join the club :-)
Re: You talking to my bird? New Rhodes dumped from
Re: The Ed Fitz - all over?
yep, pretty bleedin' cryptic...
Re: Mars Volta fans: "What you're doing is f*cked"
errr, all the people who buy those 'lost tapes'/studio out-takes/alternative version/naked/unplugged CDs that record companies pump out once their assets, sorry, artists die or break up?
Got a few of Van Gogh's sketches for 'Sunflowers' in a drawer somewhere, might pop them in my paper recycling bin later...
Record-Breaking £5000 Fine for Fly Postering
And don't get me started on TfL and those bendybus things, and as for buying your ticket before boarding the bus...
John Peel OBE: Forever at Glastonbury
<snip>My vote for the new JP: John Kennedy on XFM 104.9 Same fanaticism, same wide range of music, same mad hours (11pm-1am). And a thoroughly decent bloke to boot.</snip>
