who is this guy?
hasn't he done this kind of thing before? someone ought to tell him that he's only in a band called wavves who only five people have ever heard of.
any loop?
is 'a gilded eternity' on spotify? should be if it ain't.
os mutantes really were awful
i was pretty wasted by that point, but it still sounded crap. i think i only saw about six or seven good sets all weekend, but i still had lots of fun. teenage jesus and taraf de haidouks were easily the highlights.
who are tweak bird?
their ep cover is a bit wrong .... http://static.rateyourmusic.com/album_images/1763200.jpg
still, teenage jesus and boss hog! still not a great line-up but i'm not regretting buying a ticket anymore.
white noise!
well, well, well .... line-up still looks pretty skimpy on quality .... what is 'kontakte' like?
can archie bronson outfit play some more dates 'oop north' again soon?
it's been a while.
they won't be playing the bandstand in stoke on the 24th
cos the venue shut down last week.
haven't heard it yet
i'm glad it's getting nice reviews though. i was a bit scared that it was gonna be total shit.
fucking spectacular
if this was really THE last gig on these shores (and i hope to fuck that it isn't), what a way to finish off! although i missed the whole corsano show, because i had to leave early to get my bus home (which i ended up missing anyway) due to the fucking horrible london traffic. gig of the year so far!
where is the luminaire?
how easy is it gonna be to get back to victoria coach station for 1am after the gig?
wooden shjips sound like loop?
i didn't get that at all from listening to their debut, which sounded like a poor man's comets on fire to me. i LOVE loop, though.
the pyramids (archie bronson side-project)
are playing too, according to myspazz. this alone makes me wanna go! wouldn't mind seeing dead meadow again either.
i don't get les savy fav
they're rubbish, aren't they? a fat guy dresses up as a tree and everyone goes nuts. odd. he's seems like a pretty creepy guy, actually - sort of an indie john wayne gacy jr.
the last one wasn't very good
i loved "old fog", though.
i'm a sucker
for bands that shamelessly rip-off the velvets and every good west coast acid rock group. hence i rather like this. might drive down to see 'em in birmingslum on monday.
hopefully bert will do a solo set too
i'd love to see him again. one of my all time heroes.
indeed
i haven't heard this one yet. but i think that jack rose is my favourite of all the current takoma influenced guitar players, and maybe even a bit better than fahey, basho and company too.
i'd really like to go to this
mainly because it looks like the green man festival used to be before groups of ex-students with annoying sproggs named milly and rupert started running amok.
i had half a guiness in filthy mcnasty's recently
i'm so cool!
was she begging for mercy?
i'll get me coat ....
who are these people?
and why are they playing in stoke?
you should have included his book
'and the ass saw the angel' in this list, it's stunning .... and as good as those early bad seeds albums are i think they're trumped by any of the birthday party records!
manchester date is sounding good
the album is great .... i'd love to see 'em with the meat puppets ....
band of gypsys
best live record ever. sad news!
how does thom yorke get from stadium to stadium?
pushbike? big fucking yawn ....
this was shite last year
the only highlight was seeing some noise band dressed in blue bin wrappers in a tea shop. otherwise it pissed down all day and was full of cunts. avoid ....
ach mein gott!
this would be awesome, although i've got no chance of getting down to see it :(
do they sound anything like the 'green blues' record live?
or are they actually any good?
yeah
i hate battles but i was hammered by the time they started on the saturday night, and danced my arse off for the duration.
yay! two tickets for the secon mcr date!
boo! seetickets ass-rape booking fees!
what are the chances
of the manchester date not selling out by the time i get home at 6pm tomorrow?
not having the internet at work sucks ass :(
independent
gave this 4 stars today. not really sure what that means. ben chasny is this centuries (and a few years of last's) mvp, though. and i agree about his green man set - stunning.
yeah!
bad novels and wilting tulips all over the fuckin' place.
so the neu-kraut scene has gone sauer?
hahahahaaha. ahem. i don't understand what this article is on about ....
wooden wand, eh?
nice
wow
thurston likes poetry - who'd a thunk it?
lance bangs was also the guy that recorded the jeff mangum 'live at jittery joe's' bootleg.
if soulseek ever goes this way
i'm going to commit suicide.
pretty good on first listen
nowhere near 'derdang derdang' standards though
i was dragged to koko
for the horrendous club nme night by some friends last year. these guys were supposed to play - they didn't, but they did all walk on stage to get their nobs out, shake them around a bit, and walk back off.
a semi-decent band
playing at the underground?! at club NME?! wow! shame i'm going to see animal collective in manchester that night.
