i can't believe no mention of nothing ever happens though. that's my personal favorite of the album, it's a huge song. twilight at carbon lake is a really good closer. i saw them live 2 weeks ago and it was insanely good.

to agree with this. i reviewed this album with my friend. he loved it cause to him jack white is god. i said alot of these songs sound like stripes b sides or songs he thought would sound better with a full band. this wouldn't be that bad except that the songs don't have the same edge as stripes songs and come off as dull. either way, it's an ok album. 5 is a little harsh. i thought it was 7/10 but certainly forgettable, except for the bad songs. many shades of black is an atrocious song

that's about as concise and accurate a review/recap you can do on this. i liked it, not amazing but good. rental material.

for me too...i was pretty impressed by it when i heard it. and i also think hunter's daughter is the standout.

i really liked magnetic fields and still digesting vampire weekend. i'll have to try out some of the other picks on here.
