Quantify your Statements

I think what Henry was getting at was the 'one sentence' (or barely one word sometimes) reviews and comments on his band (and numerous others).

If someone truly thinks a band are 'shit' or 'rubbish' I guess it is at least polite to give examples and quantify the reasons. "Ugly", "weird" or "boring" are not reasons, in fact if you want "beautiful" "normal" get your sad arse to a Pussy Cat Dolls or Girls Aloud gig! I like my guitar pop angular, spikey, witty and inventive and with some charm. TYK have this in spades and I guess they are just fed up with personal vitriolic assaults rather than informed fact based statements from people who actually 1) listen to their music fully and 2) know anything about music!

Mentalists!

I read the comments with amazement. The Young Knives are a superb band, angular, clever, witty with a great ear for catchy melody yet twist it with unique effect. I havent had opportunity to hear the new album but Voices of Animals and Men must be one of the best debut albums this decade and having seen them way back in 2005 they were an awesome live act with warmth humour and real energy. Any band that comes up with the lyrics "I made a collage of dead peoples faces" and "You were screaming at your mum and I was punching your dad". Whoever said they were "awful, humdrum, uninteresting numptys" has had too much cocoa.....

Sleight of hand

With Radiohead widely rumoured to be playing Glasto this year what better way to misdirect attention than to create a bizarre side story suggesting issues between the two. Don't fret guys, just a ruse to distract attention from the main story ie 1) are they available in June - YES 2) are they going to play Glasto this year? (bearing in mind they played V Festival, a mere shadow of glasto with no issues in 2006) - YES

So bypass the fluff, and get to the jumper!
