my fav uk album of the year hands down
and they don't like the beatles
getting error occurred. Nothing major. You guys prob already know
but not great. theyre not up with cut copy's 'heart on fire' or m83's 'kim and jessie' but they work well with the rest of the album. Metronomy are a class act.
it shouldve gone to Radiohead. They made the best album by far. Elbow shouldve won it for Cast Of Thousands in '02
OK Computer missed out 11 years ago and i think this is the best album by Radiohead since then. One of the few albums of last year that i keep coming back to. Burial and Elbow would be close runners up.
i have to go
they were gonna explode this year
and they were every bit as good as i hoped theyd be. just as good as daft punk, wilco and !!! live. tune after tune after ttttune.
awesome and then some
Can see why Laura Marling left the band.
I did really Rocks and Daggers and the whole new British folk thing... but now i jus think theyre shit. Sorry guys.
Lead singer sounds like Kermit
Was good a few years back. i cant stand going there anymore. also surprised Cargo and Luminaire arent in the list.
Radiohead on BBC 6 music .... now
is the greatest.
... wish i didnt bother now. They came on and pretended to play live on these fake laptops and piano, then all these teen actors jumped the stage and faked a stage riot destroying their equipment. I was just standing there in disbelief! I know it was all for TV but that puts me off going to see Justice again!
what a joke. well at least Hard-Fi, Jack Penate, Enermy and The View didnt get nominated.
6/10??? This was my most played song of last year and deserves at least a 9.
This list is almost perfect. Drowned In Sound readers have great taste!
Myth Takes shouldve been much higher up the list along with Beirut, Of Montreal Arcade Fire and Justice. All top 10 albums. LCD was good but it does have some mediocre tracks on the album - like Watch The Tapes and Sound of Silver.
Good like tho. Glad Arctic Monkeys is nowhere near the top 10!
The view. the twang. the enemy... just sums up what a shit year its been for new British music. joke list compared to the new music you get from America and Canada.
