Pretty psyched to hear the new tunes!

The main problem I have with The Freebutt closing (other than the fact that I was one of the owners), is that no other venue of it's size has an in house team who have a booking policy like The Freebutt did. Some great bands played there that otherwise would not have played Brighton due to their niche appeal. The Freebutt was run by music lovers and concentrated it's efforts on booking touring bands that other venues would not book, mostly I assume down to the associated risk. The result was some amazing shows for the bands like Tim Hecker, AU, Tune-Yards, Future Islands, Our Brother The Native and many more that won't get the opportunity to play Brighton as it won't make commercial sense for a promoter to take on.

I hope I'm wrong and another venue takes it's ethos on or The Freebutt is re-opened. Don't get me wrong, there are some good venues & some even better promoters in Brighton, but The Freebutt got a lot of great shows for a reason; the people who owned it often loved the bands they put on.

by a very underrated band, glad it's getting a release proper release.

Defintely one of the best Brighton based bands around at the moment along with Hind Ear.

yet to let the album fully sink in, but first signs are good, as I do like it 3 mins & 45 sec in...

but someone who's taste I respect a lot has told me very good things, so I will have to check them out me thinks...

but I now can't get enough of it. Looking forward to seeing them live.

would love to own this record, they were the best band from the Nightmare before Christmas...

but to only Fuck Buttons would be in my top 10 of the year to be honest. Needed volcano!, Errors, Lucky Dragons, Why? and Youthmovies in it for a start...

Tis a very good album, and they are ace live too.

they're a bit hit and miss, but when they get it right, they're bloody awesome...

I thought the acorn were pretty dull at this gig, bar the last 2 songs, which were pretty good.

Acron/Family were good, but I got bored of the 20 minute chanting and left; I wasn't sure if it was ever going to end and some of the psyche outs were a bit tossy...

i'm sure we can find a space if you really fancied the trip! think jeniferever are supporting on most dates, not sure about tsdole...

Still a kareoke singer. Saw them in Brighton tonight, utter shite in my opinion, totally upstaged by the flippin awesome Ponytail.

are fucking incredible, blew me away when I first saw them and every time since. The best unsigned band I have seen ever, although Safetyword were close competition.

Agreed the toilet situation isn't ideal, but what would you rather; having to go up some stairs to go to the loo, or there being no Freebutt at all?
