love the field

when is the album out??

i love ulrich schnauss

i met him at an asobi seksu gig a couple of years ago where exit calm were actually playing too. I bought him a red stripe after lots of coaxing. He was very polite. good to hear there's new stuff in the pipeline.

OH YEAH

such a weak

review it almost seems cruel to mock it. this album is a 6 or 7 for sure.

it

started as a 5... went up to an 8 and has settled on a 7. well done dis.

hot potatoes

i went

in 06 and 07 and having had such amazing times, promised i wouldn't jinx them and go back this year.... but now...

nice comp...

... met the girl who he wrote Hazey Jane I and II about on a bus in Kenya!! She saw I was listening to Nick Drake...

had a cheeky

look for the rating, knew it was going to be an inspiring read so put the album on and enjoyed your fantastic review. i can't put my finger on why his music is quite so special to me. Perhaps that's evidence enough that it really does work on you on an almost spiritual level. it's like some fundamental code that your body inherently reacts. understanding his music requires no conscious appraisal. it's the sound of the dark, the echoes of all of our movements, a city's heartbeat.

and 9 off the

i have 24 of this

list!?! definitely a shame asobi seksu doesn't make it. or menomena.

it's not

contrived zanyness... he's just naturally off the wall - you can tell. he's not a performing monkey he's just a bizarre character and watching him on stage is one of life's must do's. honestly.

everyone should listen

this is great

a really good feature. when do we find out the results?

3 day festivals or more

go abroad. Benicassim has consistently proved not only a fantastic musical experience but the best holidays of my life.

I think the trend will be towards more 1 day festivals in the UK... less can go wrong - weather etc. less at stake.

i like

this DiS chart round up... it's the only way i'm prepared to find out what's going on in the charts.. i.e. cynically and sarcastically. super.

he will do this on foals faces

Benicassim

no mention of Benicassim as far as I can tell. I have just got back from Spain and I can safely say it was the best 5 days of my life... it's certainly more electronic/dance based than perhaps (sweepingly) most people on here don't dig so much as the indie stuff - but I love shoegazing in the Luminaire to post rock as much as I love dancing for 6 hours to dirty german acid house!

Has anyone been or has opinions on Benicassim as a festival?

ow

scissor sisters make my ears bleed

ummmmmmmmm

Afraid not. Bit too much like an Australian 'The Darkness'. This is not a good thing. If they received as much media attention i'm sure they too would start wearing silver leotards and we'd be cursing them all too quickly...

If you don't take it too seriously then it is inoffensive, if not a bit of fun at times, but spot the influences is just far to easy with this band!

p.s. sorry about posting a 'review'... thought I was leaving a comment...
