^ jimi u can go to subdub after
ur not getting there for 10 are you?
1pm-11 = brude
11pm -infinity = wreckedness
leeds = brilliant
brudenell = beyond amazing.
stick £8 up ur pipe london!
hmmm
seems like i'm the only one who prefers the album. highlights = namer, golden and particularly from stardust to sentience which is one of the most amazingly gorgeous things you'll hear this year :)
love this band
can't wait for saturday :D
^wrong
totally wrong
i adore this band
whenever they play leeds i'm there. nov 15th is clocking up the 9th time i've seen them :D
i bloody love this band
DEFINTELY worth going to see. always brilliant.
can't wait for this album. a month is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar too long
i was about to do a thread on the board about these
just started listening to these and they're class :D will be at the leeds date no probs
i thought drumized was the band of him
and that guy from trencher and some other bands?
i think they're supporting holy fuck at all the dates
so hopefully they are playing leeds :D
you're not playing leeds again
you bag of bastards! ;)
sheffield or manc it is then :)
Castle Donington
woop!
i want this
baaaad styleeeeeeeeee
i want a proper uk tour
like not as support
...and i want this album
the foals thinkg is a little off the mark
more minus the bear-y
great band
i haven't heard the ep so i really can't comment about it, but live they're great :D
high places are bloody brilliant
go and listen!
t(i)nc
were brilliant. a new morning, changing weather and survial sickness are both amazing albums and well rated. no-one seems/seemed to pay them any attention which is a travesty
YES IT'S NOT THE SAME AS REFUSED, I GET IT!
yes
i want this album big style.
but yeah, that first sentence is blagging my head
this is making me wet my pants :D
just need to get £600.00 together :O
the line up's not bad
if your into electro shenanigans. the headlining bands were a bit toss tho
people have cited the fact that it is in the middle of exam period, the fact that the leeds uni summer ball is the night before, and poor advertising for the cancellation. but i suppose it could be that credit crunch thingymajobber
best fa cup song
is arsenal's 'hot stuff' for the '98 final
Started out the season - nothing stopped us,
Everything was going Wright Wright Wright!
Walking in a Bergkamp Wonderland,
When Parlour was our Ray of light!
ahem
next stop is the
east siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiideee moteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel :D
but yeah nate is the chorus king.
will be looking forward to the leeds date
saw them on that pitchfork tv thing and they sounded pretty interesting
the guitar work at the end
is absolutely brilliant :D:D:D class
it's a shame no-ones really paying attention to minus
tho they have been COMPLETELY off the radar for 4 years. here's hoping they come back for another tour.
i need to listen to the new album a bit more. is it a grower cos it hasn't really grabbed me yet....
I want this album
was a big fan back in the day. should be interesting to see if they've changed much at all
and is that a boy on the cover?
^ haha
genius
people should buy this
just to see how class the leeds music scene is :D paul marshall, that fucking tank, wintermute, these monsters, two minute noodles are all bloody brilliant
great review
and an absolutely fucking unbelievable live band.
i will pay and see them whenever they come over here. toooo good for words :)
i like this song
it's cathcy and all. i agree with the sentiment that the album is brilliant as well. this song isn't indicative of the record as a whole
ah sheffiled on my birthday
should be a good 'un
i like the comments on gold against the soul
very accurate and the first manics album i got into. it retrosepct i feel that it's probably more difficult to slate it, despite the production qualities. lots of class songs.
minus are class
looking forward to this? what's it sound like? more rawk or hardcore?
^i agree with a lot of the comments above
particularly the suggestion that billy "can't win".
i think the article starts off a little confusing as it suggests that reformations that produce new material can be good and similarly those that are just 'greatest hits' live shows are also noteworthy. it'd be interesting to see whether this article would have been written if Zeitgeist was a great album.
i think that the smashing pumpkins' reformation simply hasn't worked as well as many of us would have liked and therein lies the problem. of course when i hear the new songs live i'm going to be more indifferent to them than the older songs and rarities, but i don't necessarily think they come across badly when played live. i saw the band at reading and though a lot of the new songs came across really well, despite the fact that they will probably not stand the test of time like the rest of the set.
i don't think its necessarily fair to have a missive against the pumpkins just because the new album isn't brilliant and some of their live shows are questionable. i was at the nottingham show and yeah i was pissed off at the end, but it hasn't ruined the band for me. similarly i don't think the band is now pointless, they have place in many peoples hearts and it's great to see them touring again.
it'll just be interesting to see how long the band lasts now. if the next album is bad then i'm sure that'll be it. it's a bit unfair to judge them at present
^ basically in nottingham
they played for an hour and a half and then left the stage after 1979 (the setlist had around 10 songs remaining i think). everyone was expecting an encore however the band never came back and they announced the show was over through the PA.
throughout the set billy/the pumpkins seemed a bit disinterested, however the croud was equally as shit and didn't really seem to be into it at all. apparently billy didn't want to play to 'unhappy' people (oh the irony! ;)), and although i can understand his point of view, it is his job to fucking make people 'into it'.
can't complain too much tho as they played more than most bands would. i just feel a little gutted cos of the length of the sets for the rest of the tour :(
Kookaburra
Rob Bell
Leeds
class interview
...but release the ed fitz rarities!!!!! ;)
MANDY are class
that is all
seems sensible enough to me
apart from the 'genius' bit
oh yeah
is that release date right as well?
hehe cool
errrrm i've just seen that it's being streamed now here:
http://www.myspace.com/dillingerescapeplan
lucky my computer has no sound at present ;)
great review
tho you don't mention it being a grower like you've said on the boards. how so?
i really can't wait to hear this and categorically refuse to download it.
love the artwork too. doesn't strike me as dillnger like at all :)
it's nice to hear more about dep in here
can't wait until nov 12th :D
great article anyways
^ how predictable!
i'm liking this record a lot, altho i'm not so sure about the comparisons to refused and the 'not appreciated in their own time' stuff.
i'd say they're one of the most solid bands in their genre. great riffs, great lyrics. altho half the time i can't really tell what they're on about!
