We get sent a text at 5pm saying where it is
there was still about 100 wristbands left an hour ago
I got a ticket!
woot!
I'm confused
This came out ages ago?
It looks like a Stone Roses cover
But I care little, this is probably my most anticipated record of the year.
I did correct myself ;)
And if we're counting this record, it would definitely make my top 5. It's soundtracked some of my best nights of the year.
This album
is better than 95% of those on that DiS list
there's 2
and White City (?) is nearby
Yeah what are they doing with Ocean?
Is it just standing there?
Get there at the start
and stay there. Basically.
No mention of Liz Green or American Music Club either
who were my 2 highlights. Can't see it all though I suppose.
Another episode of
"When did Kings of leon get so big?" - last week I was shocked to hear they were #1, now I see they're playing the o2! I've clearly been wrapped in my snobbery bubble.
The London gig is on
the 5th so that's a Wednesday and thus not the White Heat clubnight, right?
I'd probably go to 100 BW and Hope ones
if it was in London
Ha
We'll start getting a habit for this.
I better save my pennies as I'm half-hoping to have a NYC trip before the year is out.
Yup
the band were watching it behind me and the promoter had to drag them away to get onstage as there was a curfew. Think they only ended up playing for about 40 mins as a result. Still great though.
YES!
They played ULU in 2004 and it was awesome. Good news.
Excellent article Jordan
Nice to see a Joiners Arms namedrop :D
any venue closing
rather
Overpriced drinks
and a wanky door polciy but any venue of that size is not good news.
Arrgh
Too much happening on Saturday :(
Seeing them at End of the Road
and then Dirty Three straight after will be SWEET
This band
should have been massive, so underrated
Shit!
4:40-4:44 of the Know Your Enemy performance in '96 = WOW
I was there in 2000, it was brilliant. And indeed Stereophonics, Placebo and Slipkont were above them. Sad times. I had a bacon roll during Slipkont. It was lush.
To misquote The Simpsons
"I just heard this place existed"
The Nina Nastasia and the National clash
is well annoying
I wish
I went to the thing he did in Dalston in May, especially since it's 2 mins from my flat! Pffffffft.
Bill Callahan
that day was SO good. Best time I've seen him.
The second
ATP Director's Cut was my first ATP and thus holds a very special place in my heart. Le Tirge, Love, Explosions in the sky, Deerhoof at 2 in the afternoon having no idea who they were, first time hearing Modest Mouse, Notwist, Dizzee at 2am! Good times.
But as documented elsehwere, Pitchfork was probably the best ATP I've been to and I've been to 12.
last year
nobody was on longer than 30 mins, this is an improvement
Quite
although at Stage and Dagger in May I had no problems getting into any of the venues, and the bands on offer were of a similar stature.
TVOTR will probably play 93 Feet East or somewhere else a bit bigger. I'd hope so anyway.
This was a brilliant gig
and I really like the venue too, very impressed.
Couldn't see them at Melt
as the room was full, happy to hear about this.
Sounds very Massive Attack
She opened with this at Meltdown, it was amazing.
Glastonbury last year from London
took 8 hours to get there, 14 to get back. Car broke down 3 times in total. Never again (both driving and Glastonbury in general)
I did think it was
Calvin Harris featuring Dizzee when I first heard it

TUNE YARDS IN SUPPORT!
best gig ever
surprised they're playing the scala again though
