amongst others
great:
laura marling (especially her backing band - nice to see a proper backing band rather than seemingly-hastily-assembled telecaster/bass/drums combo);
super furry animals (totally justified hanging around in the rain all day; maybe the set was the same as previous festival sets but who cares, it was the first time i'd seen them in ages);
the national (agreed about the strange clipped delivery at times but great perfomance, an engaging front-man);
los camp (agreed - maybe not note-perfect but a hell of a lot of fun at just the right time).
was very disappointed with iron and wine because of the muso jamming - why didn't he play as a 3-piece with him, the female singer and the slide guitarist? would have been a thousand times better. left before the end of his set.
as previously stated, the atmosphere was fantastic and the bands / bonhomie / general set-up more than compensated for the rubbish weather. i'll be back again sometime.
yeah
it's a sad state of affairs when the "good day" is just one raindrop and a black cloud.
.
good dj: meh
that's not my name: irritatingly catchy
shut up and let me go: like being bum-raped, except with music

homefires at conway hall last year was amazing
it seemed totally incongruous last year at field day. it needs a quiet, intimate setting, preferably not 100 yards away from a dance tent.
