To quote Why? backstage
they said to us (Yeborobo) and Munch Munch "it's rare we get support bands we actually like" I think they were talking in general rather than just in Britain. How come only Why? got mentioned in this review rather than the whole show? Were we and Munch Munch not any good? if so, sorry. I thought Munch Munch were ace. Can't really speak for us though.
Thanks for all your kind words DiS
Sorry we didn't exactly fulfill your expectations of us last year, we didn't fulfill our own either really. Still we're doing a little better than we were before. Shame about some of the shit that did make it, but good luck to the good ones (particularly Los Campesinos, Sky Larkin and Emmy The Great).
Hopefully this is our year.

Daniel Johnston
broke a lot of hearts. I think his nerves made sense, remember he doesn't play a lot of gigs. I think his earnestness shone through and made it something quite special. Trans Am were fantastic. So were Grizzly Bear, Sparklehorse and Battles. Les Savy Fav (arguably one of the best live performances ever) and Built To Spill (definitely ball tingling) were by far my favourites though. Biggest let down for me was Slint, it sounded great but there's no intensity in their live show, they just sort of stood there. Also too much post rock for my liking. Just not my kind of thing these days.
