they played leeds last year!
i don't think they'll ever play scotland though. what a bunch of xenophobes.
woohoo!
looking forward to seeing this :)
that photo of HEALTH is fab
some of them are a bit average though, nevermind
hehehehehe
i like paul morley, and i would be interested in reading this article, but i seriously cannot get through more than the first paragraph without laughing too hard to continue. Experimental journalism it may be, but it's also shit.
"i don't need to explain myself"
oh, irony
:D
excellent.
my god
some of you are bitter cunts. She seems like a lovely lady, and clearly doesn't know 'shit all' about music. Nice interview anyway, despite some of the comments beneath.
i wanted to see Times New Viking :(
fuck you DiS, fuck you. (for putting the bands on in a silly order)
fucking awesome
i'm too excited about this already, WOOO
According to an article i read on this
in the Edinburgh Evening News, the atmosphere was really good at the festival, no disruptions during the night or anything :( this is really tragic, poor guy. He died in the same hospital i was born in.
yeah, wrong band
now if they had split up, i'd understand all the hate.
aw!
I was a cub scout are lovely, you big meanie
yeah, hawk and a hacksaw review a bit lacking
'i got bored and went to the pub' isn't that constructive really. I thought they were ace, the guy on whatever that mandolin-like instrument was was absolutely shredding it, awesomeness.
Animal Collective
absolutely slayed, if that word can really be applied to animal collective. Probably not, but they really were amazing. I can see why people would complain about them being wanky or noodley, but imo that's one of the best thing about their live sets, it's just like a big wall of noodley wanky intensely awesome sound. Peacebone was incredible though.
interesting FACT
Kriek is actually Cherry beer. it's yummy.
I would go for
'Come In Alone' by My Bloody Valentine, i think. yummy :)
I know someone whose brother is in Sky Larkin. FACT.
eeeeeeeee
this is going to be amazing. Has to be in Berlin doesn't it, chyeah.
do you think they're playing london enough?
personally, i think they're playing far too many dates north of manchester. great.
i'd pay that for Bjork
not for Radiohead. Last year it was only £30! What's happening?
who the fuck
are the Travelling Wilburys?
but
it shouldn't really matter what kind of label they're on or where they're from. They're still absolutely dire.
the answer to the last one is clearly
all three.
what do i win?
oo
i think i'll be going to that
how did i know who'd posted this article before even clicking on it ;)
This article title made me lol more than was strictly neccesary
thank you for bringing Mika Miko more to my attention, i've been told about them before but never bothered listening (cause i'm an idiot). They're awesome :D even if they do remind me of Mika too much for my liking :(
WHY NOT SCOTLAND
you twunts :'(
fried chicken
finger lickin'
everyone wants a piece of my chicken
word
this makes me EXCITED!
every time i look at that lineup
i get MORE excited than i thought it was possible to be
if AWK plays i might actually implode. YEAH!
sweet thing
is one of my favourite songs ever, but i haven't heard it in years
van morrison = amazing
oh my god
this looks like it's going to be absolutely amazing. I'M ALREADY EXCITED! I love Bjork so much <3
i cant wait for that
i'm going to buy it next friday. YAY!
wow
i saw them a couple of months ago and they were the most shambolic badly put together AMAZING thing i'd ever seen. I'm glad they've been picked up by domino, seems an unlikely pairing!
oh rubbish
it's next friday
totally not going then
:'(
Anyone remember
cult "classic" velvet goldmine? "Curt Wilde" lolz.
He's had some practice already then.
Pft, at least you only have to travel for an hour
or something. I'm probably going to end up going to Manchester too.
PEOPLE LIVE HERE!
I think i might cry
anyone want to give me free money? please?
i think i'll probably
go to this. YAY!
foals you say?
i'm THERE
blood red shoes you say? I'm THERE!
Arbroath?
i might go to that just to see if anyone actually turns up.
hate to be predictable
but, it's always the pogues.
I think
i'll have to take out an extra overdraft just to cover the amount of STUFF i am likely to be buying this weekend
oh Yay Tee Pee!
ahahahaha
Kieren Webster
i know him, he is an utter twat
that makes me feel slightly better
and having just listened to their new album, which is absolute gash, i don't hate your eyes quite so much :)
i hate your eyes
can we swap for a bit, just so i can see trail of dead? :(
BLOOD BROTHERS YES!!! day before my mums birthday though, lamecore. Make an edinburgh date! do iiit!
nice review
and a lovely album. I very much agree about having to listen to it repeatedly for it to make sense. Don't own any of the others but i think i'll be searching them out now. Thanks for this, Ben :)
bjjjjjork
