Better
than Morgan Nicholss out of the Senseless Things?
One thing's for certain...
None of those fuckers in Keane will ever make a ho a housewife.
can't be done. end of.
Of course
he would be in the Chivas end. They are team which draws much of their support and many of the players from the Hispanic community. The same community from which a hefty amount of Morrissey's US fan base is derived.
Probably a fairly cynical move, if we're being honest. Its not like he would have been seen at a Stockport v Oldham game back in the day, is it?
He's still welcome round mine for a cuppa anytime tho', he certainly deserves fame and wealth more than beckham.
Love ain't
rich, tho', is she. She stuck it all (the Nirvana money, because let's face it, she never made more from Hole than she could have done had she contimued as a 2 bit stripper) up her hooter.
Don't know
if it was the same at this gig but when I saw them recently, Mr Marr was making quite a play for the limelight, stepping forward to play his “solos” and giving the crowd the “Come On” hand gesture. ‘Course, being an old Smiths devotee, I loved it.
However, that aside, it was also a very special gig. The sound was massive (two drumkits, regardless of its previous reputation as prog naffness, is always ace) and the songs, very few of which I am that well acquainted with, kept me engaged.
His voice is less annoying live, too. But then that’s the same for any band with a high pitched male squealer up front in my experience (that experience amounting to one CYHSY gig).
All that there...
I'm going to buy it. Roll on No4. Tho' it'll probably be another 3 year wait at least...
Get the finger out, lads.
Whats
not to like? (This from a recent convert).
They've got good tunes.
They play them well live.
She's very foxy (man, that cat suit).
I saw them at the Electric Picnic recently (I missed most of the Mary Chain to see 'em) and they were very good. I liked "15" when they played it. Until I saw it live the new CD made no sense. It does now.
sober people
say i look like stuart staples
that should be beach ball
obviously
he's got a
head like a baseball and a face like a dropped pie.
Admittedly, its a pie I'd rather thump than eat.
he's got a
head like a beach ball and a face like a dropped pie.
We're all so fickle
I saw the NME tour last year (and I'm an old git, right) when both bands played.
Despite 80% of the people around me not even watching or listening to any of the bands, concerned as they seemed to be wish the level of dishevelled glam they were achieving and the functionality of their mobile phones, I did manage to come to a conclusion about these bands.
AM were good, BUT their sound was totally lost in the venue. It was kinda tinny and limp. The old bass player wasn't too tight either but they still entertained. I wished I could have seen them in a small sweaty club when I was ten years younger but frankly, despite loving the first CD, I was underwhelmed.
Maximum Pork on the other hand came on and did a proper show. They filled the room and they looked interested. Shit, I think I even recall one of them even smiling. I truly beleive that they will prove to have greater logevity than the Monkeys.
Best thing about it is, I don't really care either way because they're both going to have to get a lot worse before I stop buying their records. Its sure beats having the Libertines around, any way.
Correct
Chicken Chilli Masala, Garlic Naan, Aloo Gobi + COBRA (just the 1, cuz I'm driving like).
But... I'll settle for the Tiger
cos
these lads are good and the libertines were, are and will be shit.
A-fucking-men
To all that.
Now what about some more Irish dates you lazy jock cunts?
oh yeah
her and lauren together. there's a TV show right there.
no music.
no talking.
good call
that is.
i think
that's a matter of personal preference, like. and the situation/context will dictate my preference everytime I'm called upon to make the call.
Hasn't happened for a few years now, like but its hardly worth getting smug about.
Its hard
Not to look please with himself when he has his most recent bank statements tattooed to his eyelids.
Lauren Laverne
is a goddess. I hope it was her decision. Otherwise, Xfm have made a serious error.
Sparky, Funny, Sexy. Alex Zane ain't any of them.
word
to that
Adult Net?
On Turquoise Vinyl as I recall..
Fatima Mansions Shiny Happy People? Its like an oopah pah version with bad static interference.
But hey, whatever floats your boat, y'know.
Yooooaaawwwww
Lost and Lonely...
yeah. That's a good 'un, Just like Heaven. I think I have the 12" single in the gaff.
the Sick Anchors
(some of the lads from mogwai and arab strap) doing "You Can Make Me Whole Again" is suprisingly good and Arab Strabs "Its a Heartache" on the Ten Years of Tears comp is class.
Class enough for Mrs Pinball to shout down the stairs: "Is that fucking Bonnie Tyler of smack?"
Most of the Elvis Costello "Almost Blue" album.
Most of the "Tribute to the Bridge", Neil Young covers album from when I was just a nipper.
Didn't
Hip-Hop "mavericks" The Coup have to recall their album at the time because it had the same image on the cover?
Phatcats Bigga Fish. Man. If you guys don't get the Beats & Ryhmes thing, get that track and lap it up.
Balls to all that there
Afghan Whigs and the Wedding Present are the two best covers bands in history.
OH! and
Fanclub's version of The Bevis Frond's He'd Be A Diamond (among others)? That's nice.
Lemonheads' "Different Drum" by Mr Mike Nesmith? Ace. Better than Matthew Sweet and Susannah Hoffs' recent sickly version.
With a name like
NewcastleBackFour I'm going to accept everything you say about any kind of deficit.
Funny then that one of the few men in the UK less talented than Doherty, Titus Bramble, is a millionaire.
Maybe he can buy the wanker a few cartons of blackcurrant juice and some chocs.
Global Warming
That's what's to blame for this. I think Mark E Smith said it best when he said: "It was the Government's fault. It was the fault of the Government".
The Bluetones?
Best band of the Britpop era. Top tunes, top lads.
May his
Nadger wilt and fall off.
This is a fine lookin lady, by the way. She should sue for the damage to her face. Girls get lerds for that, so they do. More than lads like.
Marion
they were shit
Nah,
you ain't nothing special, good as it is, there'll be a pile of cunts at it.
they make it
in malaysia as well. because it is the black doctor and the cure of all known ills.
jeebus
that was close.
here, get 'em on the Electric Picnic list, lads and I'll be happy boy.
looks like
the same time as electric picnic, so we'll just be swapping bands like every other feckin weekend during the summer.
there's too many festivals, man... its not special anymore.
aye right...

In general, if I was an alterno-snob, I'd say that was lowest common denominator populist shite.
Guilty as charged, then.
Oxygen is a kip full of paddy knackers winged off their bongo on cheap E and Magners. And I for one hope they stay there and leave me to enjoy the leckie Picnic.
Honestly
this is fantastic. Go.
I went for my stag do in 2005 and it was immense (but then they had Nick Cave blistering my face with full band and a very enjoyable woosy Arcade Fire).
I've got my ticket - clashes weren't too bad and the stages are quite close together so you can catch pretty much everything you want.
On another point, Laois is one of Ireland's less interesting counties. But the site is beautiful and the atmosphere is peachy. Go now before the rabble arrive.
aye, its true
"seven cunts" they're calling it
then...
you will know that what your budget is.
if ye divn't have the seven nabs, too bad.
if ye do, but ye'd rather spend it on summat else. do so.
market forces, supply and demand, all that ballocks, ye know?
come on SHINS
sign up for some more festivals!!!
Blimey...
Let's just hope a few more of them sign up for the electric picnic in august.
105 yo yos is a steal. leckie picnic is 220 (including camping)
then, i suggest...
quit yer whinging and get a fucking job rather than sitting on here wanking on about having no moolah.
eveybody wants something for nothing, don't they? well fuck off and get real, kids.
horsey books, huh?
read most of em'.
blood meridian's prob the best in my view.
suttree's different from the rest and very good for that very reason.
balls
both their albums are shit
sting though,
he's a wanker too like.
dry them
he's really not important and if he said it, he said it.
everybody's a wanker these days, innit?
all that there
"ballsack" as an adjective. I'm diggin that.
he may be a wab

Oxford Union
I saw some drip from Oxford the other day stating that using the OU legitimised the views held by the Irving & Griffin. Now if that ain't someone with delusions of importance, I don't know what is. Precious little tw*t.
Firstly, it doesn't legitimse the views, it merely gives them a platform, if you are so vehemently opposed to those views, get in there and debate about them. People have got to have the courage of their convictions, like, for examples, Irving and Griffin. Nobody can expect to change their minds but that's not the point, the point is to continue to make them look ridiculous in public, surely.
Secondly, its only a poxy university and is only a tiny, intellectually elite supper club which is part of that poxy university. For anyone to believe that the OU gives these guys views any more creedence than they have failed to garner already is deluded. Don't for one moment think that we care about what is said inside those hallowed halls anymore than what is said on Channel 4 news. Its less relevant that it ever was and and educated opinion is still only an opinion, no matter where it is voiced.
Wankers. Him, Irving, Griffin and this hand wringing wet from the NME. Ignoring it and saying its all okay ain't gonna fix it. I think we have to take whatever the world throws at us having subjected it to a methodical scheme of rape an pillage for 200 years. But that isn't going to stop some thug who hasn't worked a day in his life from petrol bombing a romanian guy who spends 9 hours a day ripping the giblets out of turkeys for minimum wage to pay his rent and feed his kids.
