Great stuff
Really nice piece> x
Billy, hope
All my thoughts and prayers go out to Billy...
He is one of the funniest, nicest guys I have met in this town.
...See you soon, Bill.
Peterx
Gnade does Texas
Gnade does Texas = nice.
Excellent words; excellent pictures.
All round goodness, Adam. x
Diver = Acetastic
This is one of the most fantastic pieces of writing to ever grace DiS, only slightly helped by how magnificent the Blood Brothers truly are.
Excellent work, Mike.
x
Watkins
Ask Tom Watkins (he of East 17 fame) how many copies he bought on www.hmv.co.uk...
It wasn't fans buying multiple copies, but an over zealous manager too arrogant to think his thoroughly average band would get caught.
Elan Vital = MP3 gold
Pretty girls top poppin' as ever.
There's 3 mpthrees from Elan Vital @

Where's the tent?
'Tallica? x
Frusciante
Yes.
But Frusciante's solo albums make up for RHCP's turn into the bland; 'Niandra Lades And Usually Just A T-Shirt' is particularly awesome. x
Sore...
Sore to see that Bon Jovi's 'Have A Nice Day' couldn't quite climb into the top 50, DESPITE top ten voting from 2 prominent members of the DiS team.
Oh. well.
But seriously, records of the year =
Kind Of Like Spitting - Learn: The Songs Of Phil Ochs
Hockey Night - Keep Guessing
Headphones - S/T
Minus The Bear
This is one of the records of the year.
Well done, Raz, for reviewing it.
Minus The Bear deserve lots of pots of gold...
x
Idlewild/DiS
I smell a new DiS signing...
Sean, sort it out innit.

Gnade =
Interesting profile, Mike.
The man sounds alot more interesting than most of the tin pot indie songwriters around at the mo.
Hope he gets some UK action soon...
x
Raz...
Raz...
That was big fat awesome.
x
American Diary
...find 'American Diary' via www.redderrecords.com
they ship international innit...

You've got a decent internet connection for a convict. x

I am a New Yorker, born and bred.
I am currently living in Manhattan.

Re: CMJ: Murmuring and myths at an American college ro
None of the bands sounded like the Wildhearts or Honeycrack, is that why you're disappointed?
Re: We Will Be Pilots - This Is What You Fight For
They should sort you out straight away.
And only a fiver to boot. x
- The Machinist
Piss poor, sub-Fight Club, arty-for-the-sake-of-arty bollocks.
Christian Bale can't act for toffee.
Mad Palatine Evo God
All that counts.
Was I the DiS Evo champion Gareth? Was I?
We orginally wanted to start a club night based around Evo - I'm sure that's still a good idea.
A Month In Records: February 2005
Re: Weezer saddle up for UK dates
I'm sure Ozzy and Sharon were mumbling on about Rivers at some point.
The Explosion
Hunter S Thompson commits suicide
But, of course, he went by his own bullet.
That was his style.
The selfish, lying bastard can now resume his feud with Dicky Nixon.
I implore anyone who has not yet read 'Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail '72' to do so now.
The Explosion, um, EXPLODE, all over 2005...
Re: Oh, what a lovely day to drink some English te
Can anyone confirm if it was the aforementioned Britpop scrawling John Harris?
BTW - The Britpop parallel is scary (and spot on). It highlights the fact that the boyos running the music industry on the ground are the ones who fancied Louise Wener and kissed their Graham Coxon posters back less than ten years ago.
Introducing The Band: The Kissing Time
What a noise. x
Re: DiS end of year polls! Records! Bands! Gigs!
I remember when Bloc Party were stuffing envelopes in my lounge; right bunch of messy bastards they were.
Various - Public Service Broadcast 5
Fantastic record.
Again.
Bands that rock on PSB5:
Distophia
Dive Dive
+/-
The Nothing
The Betes Noires

Re: Wanna see Eminem? Better retune that radio...
And one per person's a bit rubbish isn't it?
Re: Brave New Ideas: This Thursday ++ Exclusive DF
One and half songs in to the Dustins set the poxy assed lairy lead singer jumped off the stage and tried to attack some fellow shoreditch twat type. But it was all a bit rubbish and the band were booted out of the venue.
The result was not having to hear the rest of their mind numbing tuneless set.
They really need to crawl back into the hole they came from.
Re: Kaiser Chiefs: To Go Top 20?
And they're still rubbish now.
The only thing that's changed is the fact that they've become cockier than a baby bulldog with three balls.
Anyone remember how awful Parva were?
Re: DiS Takes on London - November '04
And I've seen some shit.
Arrogant, posh tossers acting the libertine way without any thought for a tune. If their manager was the same dickhead acting the big I am at Joyfest I'm surprised he lifted his knuckles off the ground long enough to turn on a computer.
Wet indie girls
Gareth is a wet indie boy. But he appreciates girls who rock when they are attractive. Sweet.
Re: DiS 4th Birthday Goes Off With a Bang!
Press. Play. Wiggle. Finger. Repeat.
The Bad Things were absolutely ace as always.
And PBAS were pretty darn too.
Bloc Party - Little Thoughts
The grammar and syntax...
Shame this is an awful record...
Re: Velvet Revolver tour UK
But Slash and Duff are obviously the stars innit.
And he was probably drunk.
Eh, Raz?
Re: Various - On The Buzzes
Mini album still gets played.
Perfect panda pop.
Re: Brave New Ideas #6: July 1st. London.
Re: Pixies
The hysteria was worth it.
Fantastic review.
Do Me Bad Things - The Song Rides
two revolving male lead singers.
three doo woop singers.
two guitarists.
a bassist.
and a drummer.
Re: Ireland: No smoking - UK next? Should fags be
There's no need to be illiterate and ignorant but I've got to put up with that everytime you post on this messageboard.

spot on
this is spot on... the important thing is that this trend is reversible and we can find the next REM / long term career artist by being a little bit more patient.
