boring cunts?

That's a bit harsh. I mean, it's clear that much of Gallows success is down to Frank's charisma (although I would say that he does a lot more than spew pure vitriol) but I found this interview interesting, and 'cunts'? Why?!

hahahahah...

hahahah! Antonio Costa!

If this particular career move goes belly up at least he's got his chain of coffee shops to fall back on, eh?

You sir are

absolutely right - El Capitan and Love Steals are ace. As is I Understand It. The rest isn't bad, but not great. MAW and W/P are of similar quality in my eyes, a few great tracks and a lot of alright ones. The first 4 Idlewild releases (Captain - Remote Part) are all pretty much flawless in my eyes, I love this band! I wish the rarities comp was getting a physical release, not interested in a digital version really.

amen

The Nude versions are really interesting! Love this band.

PSPSPS...ES is so sunny and shiny and awesome. I don't like World United Already but the rest of it is great.

One tip for y'all - don't deal with Empyrean Records, their US label. I ordered a T shirt/Poster/EP (That's exactly what I wanted) set from them in November and despite numerous emails and them claiming to send it out several times, it never arrived. I ended up contacting the band themselves who sent me a copy of the album and the EP, bless em. But yeah, i was accused of receiving stuff and flogging it on ebay! the horror.

What do y'all think of the new record?

quoi?

they didn't play Death Car!

and as correctly stated, they did play Breathe. Love that song. That whole album is great, can't believe they shun it.

Is Closeness the first single? I was sure it was Move=move. Closeness is the worst song on the album.

Boo!

You didn't review Gavin! He's great.

surely...

...this will be very easy to work around? Anyone with the most basic wave editing software will be able to just cut it out in a second. And I'm sure dedicated software to do this more efficiently will spring up in no time.

That said, perhaps they've got this covered and it's nigh on impossible to remove. I've not done any research or anything

Not owned!

Bottom, 'LIVING OUT THE DREAM' suggests to me that you really haven't been in his shoes, mon papillon. Why not spill the beans and let us know what band you've been in so we can properly compare?

I'm sure 'being a rock n roll star' is amazing in many respects, I'd love to be one, but to one day be Joe Public and the next to face thousands upon thousands of kids calling you all sorts of things all over the internet and face nigh constant press attention and scrutiny..it's a huge lifestyle change and is going to elicit an emotional response. and the fact is, he's said a couple of fucking lines onstage, that's all.

There are different types of pressure. Would you be cool as a cucumber knowing that Warner had supposedly invested a million pounds into your band (2 or 4 album deal I believe)? And he's the selling point, let's face it. I know I'd feel under a hell of a lot of pressure.

Oh and incidentally, Bono's father died in 2001, 21 full years after U2's first hit single...it's not comparing like with like, is it?

totally agree..

..with the above. I know touring is part and parcel of being in a band (i'd love to be able to tour) but currently Gallows and particularly their frontman are very much in the spotlight, and have received a lot of extremely vocal criticism, which is going to hurt. It's not like he's shooting his mouth off in interviews or anything; he's said it on stage, probably in a bit of a state. You may think he's a twat from whatever limited experience you've had of him; however, you're not in his shoes now and have no idea how you'd react.

anywho..

nah

not at all. they've been touring almost constantly for months now and have had a huge amount of press coverage. There's been a huge backlash with thousands of kids slagging them off and calling him a 'chav' and what not. It's hardly surprising that he gets a bit emotional; in this instance he's just happened to say it onstage.

I was good friends with him at school and he's a genuinely lovely guy - the band is just his way of letting off some steam. I really don't think 'childish and immature attention-seeking twat' is justified.
