Yeah

I'm all for minimalism rather than overly fussy websites, but this just looks unfinished to me. And the white background is killing my eyes.

This won't end well

Can someone

just cancel Incubus?

yeah

i heard about this too, a bit disappointing after 5 years. Maxine is a great track though.

i really like this

it is an anthem but i think the comparisons to 'Run' end there.

The video is pretty cool too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wi4NLYwaoSk

yep

it's a pop song that desperately wants to be a rock song, but doesn't quite know how. Music for Mondeo drivers.

agreed

pop perfection.

gutted

sadface.jpg

Hamster vs Shark?

as a proud owner

of one of the 100 copies of their latest single, i can confirm that JaTa are rather ace.

ah well

we'll see what turns up. I just googled for it and found out the singer has a newish band - www.roquejunior.com

it was called

Skid Solo or something along those lines, right? I'll add it to my soulseek wishlist but otherwise i think i'll live without hearing it.

oh yeah

That was their last single, wasn't it? I never really liked that song, sounded like they were too obviously aiming for another chart hit.

I think they recorded a second album but got dropped so it was never released.

aha

i used to love Joyrider, got all the singles. Then they released Rush Hour, became a one-hit wonder and disappeared forever.

Has Jamie from Marion cleaned up his act then? Last i heard he was stealing garden gnomes to fund his heroin addiction.

nice interview

the London show promises to be something very special.

Does Jason Molina ever stop?

I've actually heard of someone

that does that. Friend of a friend of course, probably a bit unsavoury.

You would of thought ol' Gary might have learnt his lesson by now though.

Break up? Garbage! Manson dismisses rumours

Would anyone notice?

Demo Nirvana: 22-track compilation due

I'm sure i've got most of it from the Outcesticide bootlegs. Now why won't they release the DVD from the box set seperately?

Re: 25 Years of 4AD - Shows galore!

Yeah, got mine from Stargreen today, looks like its sold out there now. Close call.

Staind: Say No To Europe!

Europe: Says No To Staind

Re: Jackons plans Katrina charity single

Jacko's broke though, isn't he? If i were a cynic i'd suggest this is just a shrewd attempt to win back the favour of the masses.

Re: Feeder to split?

He's got a bit of a George Bush smirk going on there.

QOTSA tour hit by Homme's ill health

"Severe exhaustion" is usually a euphemism for "oh shit, i've really taken too many drugs, haven't i"?

Charlottefield - How Long Are You Staying

If anyone is interested there's an mp3 from this album on http://20jazzfunkgreats.blogspot.com

I only realised today that their drummer is the guy who works in Edgeworld Records, and yeah, he's shit hot.

Quit and not U

A great shame, one of the best live bands i've ever seen. They tore apart the Custard Factory last year.

Epic 45 - England's Fallen Over EP

I must get this, Epic45 are great.

Re: Boyband update: Lee Blue goes solo, Brian E17 in h

fucking hell... i want to hear this, NOW.

Re: NME editor wins an award?!

"anyone else who could string a sentence together without mentioning the Strokes"

It's funny you mention this as i have a theory that it is NME's editorial policy to actually do something along these lines. Read any review they do of some old, 'classic' band and you see they still manage to fit in a mention of the Libertines, Franz Ferdinand or whoever they are wanking over at the time of the review. They do it just about every time, it's like product placement. I read a review in there recently, i think it was GBV or Dinosaur Jr, a band that has no bearing on the current NME scene, and yet they still managed to fit in a mention of one of these bands. Totally cringe-inducing.

Idlewild, Ambulance Ltd to join REM on UK tour

Idlewild are actually playing of REM on these dates. Stipe & co fancy a few nights off and predict nobody will actually notice the difference.

Beverly Hills Frog: ringtone spawns single

I haven't actually heard the crazy-frog ringtone yet, and for that i'm glad. I hate ringtones, my current phone has shitloads of stupid tones on but hasn't got a single "normal" telephone ringtone on it. Is that really too much to ask from telephone manufacturers? Fuckers.

Re: Smile Around Your Face: Four Tet returns

Apparently it's been leaked and is on soulseek already. I prefer to wait for these things though. I've read that it's meant to be a bit of a departure from previous records, but i'm sure it will be fantastic either way.

Teenage Fanclub return

The last album was a bit hit and miss, but as with all Teenage Fanclub albums there was a couple of real gems on there. Songs For Northern Britain is a really underrated album, as good as Grand Prix in my opinion. There'll always be a place in my heart for the Fannies.

Re: Jason Molina brings Magnolia Electric Co. to UK

There's a couple of mp3s from the live Trials and Errors album on secretlycanadian.com if you're interested. Oh, and a nice video too.

Jason Molina brings Magnolia Electric Co. to UK

It's about time, although i've only been a fan a couple of years. I'll be at the Bush Hall gig, intimate sounds good, i've not been there before. I'll be at the Brighton one too. *obsessed*

Jason Molina brings Magnolia Electric Co. to UK

Songs: Ohia was pretty much a solo project with collaborators on each album, whereas MEC is a fully fledged band with permanent members, although Molina still writes all the songs. The last Songs: Ohia album "Magnolia Electric Co" was a transitionary album to link the two projects together, so they aren't entirely seperate entities. Then there was his solo album Pyramid Electric Co released under his own name which is stylistically closer to Songs: Ohia material.

Live, he still plays some Songs: Ohia material as heard on the Trials and Errors live album, but generally he tends to play newer material at live shows rather than reverting back to older songs. It's doubtful we'll be hearing Captain Badass live again.

Either way, i'm wetting myself with excitement about these shows.

Ben Lee - Awake Is The New Asleep

I Wish I Was Him?

"He even understands the words to Pavement songs", heh.

Re: Idlewild - Love Steals Us From Loneliness

Ditto. The more i hear it the more i like it, although i could really do without those harmonies on the intro.

Re: '...Mama'-mia! Scissor Sisters win three Brits

He's having coke blown up his arse, Stevie Nicks style.

Gn'R to release record this year. Ha. Ha. Ha.

Does anyone care? I can't imagine it being anything other than complete shit.

Now if Kevin Sheilds got his finger out...

'...Mama'-mia! Scissor Sisters win three Brits

So Kerrang! readers favourite bands are:

Franz Ferdinand
Kasabian
The Libertines
Muse
Snow Patrol

ok...

Re: Bunton bombs in the US

Don't fear the cock, Jared.

It's actually quite common for straight men to get aroused by gay porn, simply because it's sexual. Obviously it does NOTHING for me. *puffs out chest*

Re: Pop goss: Bedingfield: Tard. Madonna: Hard. Avril: Songwriter.

Crash by the Primitives, candidate for best pop song EVAH?

Too busy to watch telly? Sunday's top videos revealed...

I read that as "what are your favourite porno vids of all time?".

Shall i tell you anyway?

Re: Pop goss: Bedingfield: Tard. Madonna: Hard. Av

I'd hazard a guess it wasn't his sister's.

4 screen action!: Keifer goes musical

Whenever something is described as soft-rock (particularly when it's by the actual artist themselves), you just know it's going to be horrific. I bet that's how Hasselhoff describes his music as well. You know, edgy for the guys, but sensitive for the ladies.

Dälek - Absence

I'm pretty new to Dälek but i'm liking what i hear so far. Some of it is pretty inpenetrable at first though.

There's a nice interview with him on Pitchfork at the moment.

Coachella Festival: full line-up includes Cocteau reunion...

Weird, i read that Four Tet are meant to be playing some all-nighter in London on the 30th with a host of other great bands. Anyone know what's going on?

Flyer here.

Re: OMG!!! Embrce play Leedz open air show!!! ROFL!!! xxxx

and of course if you really were rolling about on the floor, you wouldn't actually be able to type it.

How many people actually physically LOL that often? It's got to be a sign of madness.

Mylo - Destroy Rock & Roll

Yeah, good album but this is just throwaway. Isn't the use of quirky samples all a bit dated now? Christ, one Lemon Jelly is more than enough, thanks.
