An album without using the *note* of E...
...that would be more interesting.
For deffers.
There's a genuinely amazing translation in English called "A Void", which is equally astounding- pretty much the ultimate in combining form & content.
For trivia fans, the Oulipo (OUvroir de LItterature POtentielle, if I remember rightly) are a group of writers imposing restrictions on their writing to make strangely creative things- books with no text and only footnotes, novels without the letter e and so on. Always done with quite a lot of humour, as well...
I haven't actually managed to hear the EP yet...
...but, after seeing them live a couple of times, I'm a convert; perfectly willing to believe that it's awesome. Looking forward to picking up a copy somewhere.
Are the final number ratings sub-edited? Review reads more like an 8, I reckon.
"...right now I'm suicidal. If I don't get them back I don't know what I'll do."
If you don't know what to do, then you're probably not suicidal...
out of interest...
...what's "super creative" about playing after a film...?
I'm by no means an expert at it...
...but, from my studies of a particular martial art, I know several ways to break the arm, fingers, wrists and collarbone of someone shaking your hand.
I too would like to shake these touts' hand.
I've seen them live.
They were at quite a strange line-up; I think it might have been an NME thing. The Horrors opened, then Squarepusher, then Jack's White's Stupid Idea (or whatever they were called).
The Horrors were shit. The room was crammed full of people, and after every song there was the ringing sound of total indifference. No-one one clapped, no-one even cared. They just carried on their conversations, but without having to compete for volume with The Horrors. Because they were shit.
They really, really were.
So last week...
...there's a very thought-provoking article about when post-rock became staid and formulaic...
...and this week there's a positive review of this...
...hmm...
Rappers don't always obey the laws of grammar?
Who do I write to about this?
Pedantry alert:
probably "uninterested". "Disinterested" means "impartial", like a judge.
Nice article, though. Mmm.
