I think that the

"now giving us such wonderful acts as The Feeling, Scouting for Girls, The Hoosiers" bit was supposed to be sarcastic...

I was hoping this would reveal that Radiohead were massive

hypocrits with diva-esque riders.

Saying that, aren't biofuels one of the main contibuters (currently) to the 'food crisis' and poverty in some countries?...

Wow, how dull was that?

And I actually really like Agyness Deyn.

I HATE this for being

right in the middle of my uni exams :( ARGHHHH.

Really good interview.

Nice to see something different to the usual same-old interviews.

Arcade Fire at number 3?!

That's the only one that I think looks massively out of place. That album gets boring after about 3 listens. The Radiohead position was a little bit inevitable.

Oh god, this is awful.

Shall definitely NOT be going again this year. Thank god the island has Bestival, to balance out the good and the bad.

Is that a joke?

By doing this they're

implying that touting seriously affects the industry/bands etc in the same way as, say, downloading does. But it doesn't matter who buys their tickets, touts or not, the bands still get the money.

The only people that touts affects are the real fans who are unable to initially get tickets. And this is going to screw them over anymore.

Way to go for appreciating your fans. Surely they should be distributing tout profits back to the fans, as opposed to hoarding it for themselves.

No, he's the support act.

Saw him last night and thought he was quite good. It was all rather...'nice', for want of a better word.

I love ballet!

I want to see this.

I love this song.

It's really fun to sing and dance to. I thought it was really odd at first, but after a few listens thought it was great.

Manson talking out of his arse again.

The only similarity that I can see is that, like Manson, MCR have a tendency to wear black.

Interesting.

I've not been grabbed by the singles that they've released off of this so far, but everyone seems to be praising this album and so I expected more than a 7 really.

Not ever been to Birxton Academy, but the Guildhall isn't really that great.

I find it kind of soul-less.

Anyone got any idea of ticket prices for these shows?

How would she be fascinated?

Surely, being a woman herself, she'd know that she had three holes?

...

^^they do

I saw them play a houseparty in Manchester. It was ace :D

Matt Bellamy? Ewww

Other than that, PREDICTABLE.

I <3 Bestival.

I NEED to get a ticket for this year.

Good review

I think you've pretty much summed it up. Although The Magic Position is not my favourite of Patrick Wolf's albums, I wouldn't say it necessarily wasn't as good. It's just different, and as you say, he has developed his sound more and it does feel alot more 'together' than anything else he's done, as an album.

Whatever.

You'd think they'd go places where they had a reasonable sized fanbase ie the UK. As well as the US maybe...

Well that's rubbish.

What about the UK?!

Racist? Hardly

The last album was quite Americanised and most of the writing, recording, production was done in the US so maybe on this one they've decided to go back to Britain, because that's what they are, British. There's nothing racist in being proud of your heritage.

I still have a soft spot for Funeral For A Friend. I hope they do go back to a heavier sound on the next album

Ooh nice thinking

Kinda makes sense that does. He could do that and still play Manc' on the 18th though :(

Why Oxford Brookes?

That's silly, the second show should be somewhere up north, like say...Manchester? That would make me happy.

Tried to get tickets for Porchester Hall :-(

Well, my boyfriend did. Sold out in a couple of minutes apparantly. That's a bit annoying.

5th February?

Ace. Ages before I go see him then. Oh, I'm looking forward to this so much :D

Noooo

If I had to choose any, it'd blatantly be Panic! At The Disco. Fall Out Boy are simply awful.

No Manchester?!?!?

argh, yet they play Penzance and Romford? Oh well... :( I <3 them so though

Exactly what I was thinking

did you do a round trip of the UK first or something? Also, I don't like this review makes Bestival sound a bit rubbish just because a couple of the bands weren't up to scratch. When in reality the whole weekend was ace. And there were so many more bands to see than those focused on here.

I heard Elizabeth for the first time

on Thursday when they played it live and I thought it was wonderful.

OMG

If I go to Southampton on the 6th I will get to see them 3 days in a row! I think I may have to do that :D

They've had 5 album's so far

and this would be their fifth STUDIO album because I'm guessing that Fungus Amongus wasn't a studio album seeing as it was recorded before they were signed.

I used to be a really big fan of this band

but I'm not too hyped up about the prospect of a new record. Something tells me it will just be bland and boring. S.C.I.E.N.C.E and Make Yourself were wicked though. Everything since has just been painfully mediocre.

just clowns have been banned

there's still a fancy dress theme. I think that the circus theme was pretty loose anyway, it was pretty much just dress like you want. It' gonna take me ages to get a costume together no doubt.

I want to cry,

why aren't they playing Southampton/Portsmouth?!?

wow, it sounds as if it was wonderful.

I'll shall be seeing her on July 26th at Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms and cannot wait now. Was it just a showcase of new stuff or did she play songs off of Soviet Kitsch also?

whoa really?

Ooh, I'm getting all excited now. Bloody hurry up Conor!

I hope not. I'm still really hoping for a

secon album. But it's been a while and still no news :(

As for news on a new album :D can't wait.

number 655 I was

I don't even like Art Brut all that much but it's better than most of the stuff that they put on that show.

^^agreed

I don't know why but I just can't get into Guillemots at all, which is strange because it seems like the kind of thing I'd like. I don't know, maybe they'll grow on me.

*the album

an?

I can't ever imagine the concept of an album dying.

Sometimes I do like listening to the odd songs by certain artists, but for the most part I prefer to sit through and listen to a whole album. I've only ever bought about 3 songs off of a download site before as well, prefering much more to buy CDs (those songs were all B-sides anyway). I very rarely put my MP3 player on shuffle, it only leads me to constantly shuffling tracks - I've found that many songs don't sound so interesting to listen to out of the context of the whole album. I don't feel that the idea of the album will ever die if there's still proper music fans around - there'll still be that demand.

I LOVE this song

so much. Can't help but feel that this band may fade away after the hype disappears, but if they keep making great tracks like this they should be ok.

omg, this is like totally OLD NEWS

DiS is so behind the times; wasn't this rumoured over a year ago? Plus, what's with the comparison to the Arctic Monkeys? Some people make me sick...

This song is so annoying

and the lead singer has one of the most irritating hair cuts ever, and a really bad taste in make up.

^^^No, I disagree :(

Although, I can totally see where you're coming from, they are crap, but I love them coz I think they're FUN. Sometimes I get bored of 'good' thought-provoking music and just want to listen to catchy crap.

I brought my Portsmouth ticket

the other week :D I'm so looking forward to this, iForward Russia! are so good live, and I've not seen Youthmovie Soundtrack Strategies before.

I actually love this article

even if I don't agree with the final score...:P
