Re: Liars on tour. True story

thats just coz theyre bobbins, theres nothing to get. theres logic in this somewhere. maybe.

Re: Liars on tour. True story

i saw them last time they were around, knew nothing about them, but they were great live. its just a load of nonsense in my book, but proper fun, a lot of people didnt seem to get it tho mind. then again maybe neither did i, but thats a mark of a good band, right?

Up-C Down-C Left-C Right-C ABC + START - And The Battle Is Won

youve gotta wonder about that band name. might have been a good idea on saturday night. maybe.

Re: Gilmour, Daltrey, The Datsuns! Stars collaborate on Peel single

ha. theres nothing wrong with the datsuns, second album was a bit patchy but live they still rock damn hard. id always go see them, unlike some of the other trash a certain mag passed off as the next big thing 2 years ago.

Rock rags record best-ever sales figures

the only mag i bother with these days is terrorizer... kerrang is still the smash hits bollocks that is has been for years, nme is rubbish, used to be great with really funny coulndt give a shit writing in it but thats gone. terrorizers great coz theyre not scared to tell it like it is, theyre the only mag that ive seen slag trivium off as the boring metallica copyists that they are, and that i respect. plus they review the most off the wall stuff ever, shame is i can hardly ever find these mad records!

Re: Disturbed: first UK tour for three years

cant argue with a fella whos sold shit loads of records just from going on about sickness and making chicken noises on the way.

oohwahahaha indeed! always good for a laugh though...

also in disturbeds comedy metal cannon is the video to a tune called prayer, it shows a kind of apocalypse but disturbed thwart the end of the world with their metal. and become the only surviving members of the human race. all male....

Re: Calling all unsigned bands...the Sirkus needs you!

i ignored those negative comments and checked out the website anyway, coz i dont care what the politics are behind it, playing to a fairly crowd would be great. but... 'all they ask' is that everyone sells 12 tickets, which would be ok if they were like a fiver or something... not twenty quid. scandalous!

Re: Bulldog Bash bill changes

its basically the hells angels uk annual knees up, and therefore the safest festival there is. nobody causes trouble when those loons are about, its not really worth it...

Re: Bulldog Bash bill changes

the bulldog is an ace festival, theres none other quite like it... nothings better than watching wrestling, rock, bikes, drag racing, topless bike washes and wet t shirt competitions in a day!

Re: New bands tent announced for Reading/Leeds

rubbish. as more and more bands get announced its still only turbonegro and maiden that i can be arsed with ... sell sell sell! maybe.

Re: Hayseed Dixie play Beastly Eastleigh! And other pl

thats an old picture off of the back of the first album they did. they now have guitar/fiddle, mandolin, banjo and bass. the banjo player is awesome, but its the mando guy that amazes me.. such a tiny instrument, this guys got massive fat hands too, and he plays it like angus plays his guitar. its untrue! if you love old rock, you cant fail to have good fun at a dixie show, its nonsense really, but a perfect band to get drunk to and have a good ol barndancin laugh!

Re: Motorhead: 30th anniversary 'Bomber' show and winter tour

motorhead and everything they stand for are great. but when ive seen them before, i just kinda got bored. theres not really that much to them is there? on both occasions the bar appealed more and i skulked away to the darker corners. but this time around there playing in some more suited venues i reckon, specially sheffield city hall, might give them one more chance. plus they always have awesome supports, young heart attack, wildhearts, hawkwind and anthrax... thats pretty good!

Re: Static-X man does a Jacko...

haha, very true... no need at all!

Reading/Leeds: it’s on like Donkey Kong

carling doesnt taste of piss, it tastes of soap. its horrible either way.

WE BELIEVE IN MUSIC (or why it’s really, really important that you buy the Bloc Party LP this week).

they are wank. and i dont think i need 500 wanks to say it.

Black Sabbath: Top Of The Rocks

kerrang is rubbish, but at it occupies a couple of hours on a wednesday. or should that be a a couple of minutes in the shop. either way, its not that bad. and led zep 2 is in the list, but a bit further down. i was a bit dissapointed that iron maidens killers only made no. 44, while things like feeder and lost prophets make up the top 20...

Re: usagi chan

its cheers actually......
and the japanese tend to just say lock and loll for rock and roll, i tried to get it out of many japanese folk but they all just say "lock and loll? aaaaaaaahhhhh!!! lock and loll!!" blood from a stone, i tell you, blood from a stone.
but anyway, they rule the roost this mob!

Re: Hardcore Tours Galore in 2005

yeh hatebreed are funny, but theyre audience is funnier, i mean come on, what in the WORLD are you doing? vestcore wankers beating each other up, its odd. i wonder if these tools go down their local parks and windmill at ducks when theres no hardcore gigs to go to, coz they sure as shit dont seem to care about whos playing.... could be the worst hardcore band in the world but ........oh hello, theres windmill twat again!
id never say hatebreed are funny to there faces though, that would be ever so silly.

Hardcore Tours Galore in 2005

fair play for having a bit of a dig and getting some proper hard hardcore in! you fail to mentoin by the way that hatebreed are being supported by crowbar, which id say is well worth a mention!

Re: Do the 'Dog - Irish rock monsters reform!

that was a great gig, they definitely still have it. theres not many bands that id go to as much effort as going all the way to ireland for...... and it seemed like a lot of people seem the same as it took us to ask about 6 or 7 people to find out where to go for a bit of rock afters!

if they suddenly fall back into oblivion again itll be a travesty, theyre as loud and essential as they ever were. more tours and new record now!
i love kerbdog.

Re: Ikara Colt lose sticksman

thats rubbish, his drumming is superb, ive seen them and hes been going off at a million miles an hour and leaving his band mates in the dust struggling to keep up with him. which should be a bad thing, but it was part of ikara colts appeal. hes the best drummer ever to look like a postman on speed. shite news.

MC5 survivors sued by singer's family

weak and dissapointing? too cool for school eh... the reading show was awesome, kramer was a annoying twat, but it was a proper fist in the air get singing rock n roll shindig.

Re: Pantera guitarist shot dead

its so messed up, the guy goes out there with nothing in his mind but to entertain a few hundred people and he never leaves the stage coz of one nutbar. he was a awesome guitarist, some of the riffs he created are among metals finest. RIP

Re: Motley announce 2005 World Tour

im pretty sure msg played here this year, i avoided it like the plague mind. ive still got a msg tour 84 scarf upstairs, dunno why, i never went, and they were shit.

Re: Motley announce 2005 World Tour

im nowhere near as excited about this as i am about the judas priest tour. probably not even gonna to go the crue, they'll never be as good as they were, and im sorry but if you've read the book you'll know these guys really hate each other, and this is a blatant sex pistols esque cash in. or maybe the book was also a pack of lies and a cash in, as a previous act of cashing in to this.
either way their albums were great, and i cant see them being that good live anymore. and what about mick mars bone disease? it all stinks to be honest.

Re: Do the 'Dog - Irish rock monsters reform!

awesome, seeing them in a pub in derby years back is in my top five gigs list. they were fantastic- similiar to therapy in that they released an album full of dark rockers then an album full of great pop stompers. great news, but there has got to be more dates!

Re: Killers to headline NME tour

im kinda glad they are coz that line ups shocking, and ive developed a habit of going to the nme tour regardless of the line up. it was only worth it for the fuzz xlub after. balls to em, its a shit tour.

Re: Winnebago Deal

they are one hell of a hardworking live band, ive only known about them for 14 months, but seem them something like 8 times, all blinding. theyll never get on a big scale and sell loads of records, but for a filthy night of loud rock you can go wrong with the deal.

Re: Mad Capsule Markets - CiSTM K0nFLiqT

i was out in japan a bit ago and mentioned them to someone out there, and she was amazed that they were known anywhere but japan. they are massive there, but no one thinks they are even heard of elsewhere. in the japan bands sections in the hmvs you cant miss their bits, theres so much!
it is a shame no one really knows about them, but english bands arnt known out there unless they are massive or really hard working, so id say they are doing really well in england.

Re: The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster - The Royal Society

shit live band? sure you were watching the right band? ive seen them a few times and the manic urgency of it all and the real fact that it could all just fall apart in a seconds time makes them one of the best doing the toilets at the moment in my book.

Re: Winnebago Deal - Dead Gone

theyre supporting 80's matchbox this week, thats a 9 pound bargain right there.

Re: Winnebago Deal - Dead Gone

fuck you, the deal are the deal!

Re: Goldie Lookin Chain - Greatest Hits

streets would be as good as glc if skinner wasnt a real chav...

ive had the glc album since saturday morning and ive played it more that i thought i ever would already, its total magic. yes its all a joke, of course it is! i think theyre a bunch of metallers just taking the piss out of townies by becoming a overblown and over egged reflection of them to take the piss, but instead of offending the chavs, theyve found a whole legion of misinformed fans who dont realise the jokes on them, which is ace

either way, whatever, anyone who rhymes vag with swimming badge and oxy cubes with pubes gets my vote. theyre winners.

Re: LostProphets getting arena-sized

people have always hated them, its no new thing! i saw them play to about ten people ages ago, that was fucking funny. they were also underneath a really shit metal band called brutal deluxe on the bill. that was even funnier!

Re: Bjork : Medulla

i really wanted to go and check them pair out at reading, but when the time came i was pissed and i didnt want experimental vocal stuff, i wanted fist in the air punk rock. love to know what theyre up to though, please enlighten!

Re: Rap with a capital C: 50 Cent gets bottled off

this is all a very entertaining read, but there really isnt anything else to it than greebo kids are sheep, and somewhere along the line someone said "throw bottles at fifty cent", and that was it, deal done. no issues of homophobia etc, these silly little kids probably dont even know what that is.

Re: Rap with a capital C: 50 Cent gets bottled off

its not snobbery, its just acting like a cunt.
i hate both acts, but nobody deserves that.
the moshers didnt beat fiddy pence him though, it was more of a draw. they destroyed the rasmus though. im almost convinced mean fiddler book poeple like this just to cause publicity, coz everyone but cent and rasmus knew this was going to happen...

Re: A Girly Guide To Reading

thats a load of horse shit, if you want to stay clean, either get a B and B or dont go. cleanliness isnt part of the spirit.

Re: New single Minus the hassle....

nice one. i intend to drag all of my friends down there with their (and mine) hangovers in tow.

Re: New single Minus the hassle....

your friends are clearly rubbish then.

Re: The Icarus Line: On The Lash with the MC5

and the presidents of the usa, but no ones done it better than the mighty magnet. although the presidents cover of video killed the radio star is ace.

Re: The Bronx

i dont think there are many bands out there doing what the beronx are doing. a much watered down version of it for sure, but not with such incendiary intensity they carry it off with. not many people seem to like them though, its seems you either see them as the best punk band for ages or just loud guitars with a angry man screaming. i choose the former.
and im very un-punk, in the sense of punk. kinda thing.

The Bronx

that was a class gig, i love the black flag spirit they have, but its a nice black flag. unique!

Re: Somewhere Only We Moan: Why I Hate Keane

cant be arsed to read all that, but yeah, they're shite.

Sheffield Casbah Closes; DiS Tour Date Venue Change

fuzz clubs class, but i very rarely remember what the bands were like because of the insane drinks prices... always have to book the friday off work as well to go there, because if i make it, its a unbearable trawl through 8 of the longest hours in my time

Download: Barfly Stage Announced: thisGIRL, Span, T(i)NC... +Suicide Girls

balls. they put danko, milo, and ikara colt on the shit day. bastards, they know what theyre doing those promoters. hives iggy on sunday! now! and lots of point putting young heart attack on at the same time as metallica, well done, thanks for that.

Re: Franz Ferdinand - Matinée

franz ferdinand were never cool. they were good for a minute, then i heard their songs for the hundredth time without actually owning any of it, therefor they are now just shit.

Sheffield Casbah Closes; DiS Tour Date Venue Change

the casbah was never really a great place to see bands. and the beer is rubbish and overpriced. the fez is much better, a scabby little place that serves cans of lager. great stuff. leadmills obviously the best place in sheff for bands, but they seem to have started only booking bands who are hyped loads, which is a shame, coz i reckon its got one of the best sound set ups in the country
