i saw them play a few years back in NYC. they've come on a ways since some wilderness...try and check out the 'song for the singer of panthers' 7" that came out last year in the UK. it's totally sweet.
Wow...
that's a horrible sleeve.
Duluth??
In Atlanta?? If they lived somewhere that hot, the music wouldn't sound at all like it does!!
Yes!
I completely agree with this review! Finally...I've read a ton of gushing reviews of The Greatest and thought maybe I'd gone mad...
This song...
is amazing. Too bad the rest of the album sounds like Dildo.
Tras...
was the name of the first EP, not EP A, wasn't it? Anyway, this Warp release is pretty decent stuff - but it's all brain and muscle, no heart. Live is where they are at at the moment, I reckon.
Top 2005 for me...
were:
1)Bonnie Prince Billy/Matt Sweeney - Superwolf
2) Wolf Parade - Apologies to the Queen Mary
3) Blood on the Wall - Awesomer
4) Constantines - Tournament of Hearts
5) Josephine Foster - Hazel Eyes, I Will Lead You
Hmm...
I actually left this show early because I thought Hella were bloody awful. They used to be tight, melodic, fucking inspiring to watch. The sound at LSE was pretty dreadful, but even then the 4 piece were...a mess. With the exception of the ever-great Zach Hill.
Green Man
Jeffrey Lewis was awesome at the Green Man Festival this summer - especially the Will Oldham track!
Sleater-Kinney - "We’re all really opinionated, intelligent and pretty obstinate human beings..."
Re: Sleater-Kinney
Save CBGB's
Le Tigre - Grrrls On The Run!
The Subways - Oh Yeah
The Strokes anyone?
This shit is weak.
Trail Of Dead. UK. Do the maths...
well i've got my tickets for ULU anyway. i've never seen em before.
Robbers On High Street - Fine Lines
should any of you be round camden way.
Bearsuit - chargr / what, you've never seen snow before?
Re: The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster - The Royal Society
The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster - The Royal Society
i just thought i'd point that out.
Musical hero John Peel dies age 65
The Stills
Paris goes worldwide - Warners stump up the cash!
Franz Ferdinand - Michael
Minus The Bear - Highly Refined Pirates
nice review!
Re: TV On The Radio - Desperate Youth, Blood Thirs
The Distillers - Beat Your Heart Out
Curtis film on the Cannes cards
- what a resounding endorsment of his musical talent...

It was supposed to...
But then the release got pushed back and pushed back...Plan B went and reviewed it about six months before it actually got released!
