Agreed.

Karp are excellent!

A "more playful" Iron & Wine

Sounds like my favourite album of 2007 is coming from Florida. Imagine!

That said

I did like really like Word Gets Around when it came out. That said, I was 12, I think.

Haha

Well spotted.

Crunch!

The book is, in my opinion, poorly written even though much of it was apparently done by a ghostwriter. I'm not saying that I could do any better but I don't have a phat publishing contract. I know full well that there are better writers out there with more enlightening things to say that will never get widely read because of ideas such as market appeal.

I sympathise fully with addicts, I've seen a friend go down the coke road and drive himself into relative poverty and alienation. I just happen to think that Kiedis isn't all that bright and that internet porn is 99.9999% harmless. I look at some at least twice a week!

I fell in love with her...

when I first heard The Milk Eyed Mender but I called it all off after Ys. Now that her backing band is called The Ys Street Band, she's totally my girl again.

<3

"You should read his autobiography"

Worst advice ever! For God's sake folks, do not pick that book up. I got about 15 pages in and gave it to Oxfam. Sorry, Oxfam!

Gutted.

I went to see Pretty Girls Make Graves play a heartbreakingly mediocre show last time TMS played Manchester and I'm not sure I'll be in town for the next one :'(

PS: Can I plug a gig?

Call me wildly intuitive

But is somebody going to Texas this week?

Uncut!

I read Uncut for the first time in ages last week and thought it was dead good. It covered a decent range of stuff, had a nice feature on Morrissey (or The Smiths, can't remember) in which loads of great songwriters were asked to talk about their favourite Moz penned tune and they ran an article on my most favouritest band! Hoorah for Uncut, I say.

What?

"Don't express opinions on other people's work." Is how I read that. Apologies if I'm wrong but that's a phenomenally soft thing to write on a website pretty much entirely comprised of opinions on other people's work.

Nah.

Dropping is in the popular vocabulary now, I reckon. I dropped a blog just this morning, yo! "Hopefully" is probably a quote from a press release. Far be it for an impartial media to announce its hopes on such matters.

Good news!

I love the Beasties and will bet anyone twenty pounds that the next album is great!

Blimey!

Are you guys having a drugs party in the office today? If so, can I come?

Are you joking?

This reminds me of the Glenda Slagg column from Private Eye!!??!!!?!1

Downer.

The first time I saw PGMG is one of the best gigs I've ever seen. The last time I saw them is one of the most forgettable. I'm glad they pulled the plug before it got really shit. I'll listen to their first few records for a long time yet.

Yikes!

It's like I've opened the door to trick or treaters dressed like my least favourite 90s rock stars.
