'I really wish he'd develop a serious mental illness'

You do know he's autistic, right?

I loved Liquid Skin

Just me?

^^ this

Warnings/Promises still stands up as well.

I've said it before and I'll doubtless say it again

Proclaimers with a delay pedal.

Gaaaaah. I do not understand. They are fucking abysmal.

erm

Electric Feel - MGMT
Mystery Jets - Two Doors Down
Johnny Foreigner - The End And Everything After
Bon Iver - Blindsided
Santogold - Creator
Delays - Girl's On Fire
I agree with Death Cab also
And since the gig at Glasgow Green was one of the best things ever, I think Radiohead - The National Anthem

does any band actually want to win this anymore?

The curse of the Mercury still seems to apply, with the exception of the Arctic Monkeys.

she did

She 'designed' a few shit dresses for New Look last year

Stuck on the naughty step?

Fuck the fuck off.

it does

you are correct

glasgow tomorrow

popping the old Radiohead cherry. Both this set and the one before look cracking - I think I'll be happy with anything!

this is prime pensioner-speak,

but Times New Viking's album gives me a headache

sounds amazing

and off to Glasgow on Friday - I really can't wait

looks like a trip to Manchester then

They sold in Glasgow in April as well. I was comforting myself about missing out by convincing myself they'd do another tour this year. Gaaah.

Uk tour, eh?

Biggest ever UK tour, with no Scottish dates. Ta.

...

Bon Iver, Johnny Foreigner, Tegan & Sara's The Con (only came out over here this year, but technically it was made last year), Elbow and Mystery Jets for me.

And Oppenheimer and Delays also cracking.

I hated HATED X&Y

and had absolutely no interest in seeing what they did next. But... I've had a nosy on the myspace streaming and yep, it's good. It's better than the last two by a long long way, if not quite brilliant. Review spot on.

be curious no more

streaming free on myspace

you'll like it if you liked You See Colours

same kind of direction but a bit more realised. It's a good fun album - it doesn't need to be more than that.

I think 5's a bit harsh

It's not Faded Seaside Glamour right enough, but I think this is a cracking album, and it's consistently better than You See Colours, even if there's no Valentine on it. Girl's On Fire, love Made Visible and No Contest are all brilliantly sunny pieces of pop and this album never fails to put a smile on my face. I know I'm hugely in the minority here, but I've loved this band from day one and I haven't been disappointed yet.

There are not enough words to describe just how much I hate this band

but he did come across as being a decent guy. Shit.

I like how

he's modelled his haircut on Clint Boon.

no no no

Funny review, in places, but seriously, what the fuck? There are a couple of clunky moments on the record, granted, but on the whole, it's brilliant, articulate and full of cracking ideas. worth the price for Magician's Assistant alone.

Plus didn't this come out about two weeks ago?

you've gone and derailed this meeting

with another obscure comment

relentlessly pretty

hit it on the head, really. It's a perfectly nice album, very well exexcuted, and Adem makes everything sound rather lovely, but it's quite pointless.

I agree with much of that

their debut WAS good, but somehow more of it is just hugely unncessary. And they were shitting awful on Jools Holland the other week.

(the cardboard/mollusc bit made me snort loudly incidentally. Thanks)

^^

Brilliant gig. New stuff soudns a little bit samey though.
