bullshit.

I spoke to Dizzee's agent on Friday. He wasn't paid the deposit for his fee in advance as the contract said. Neither were most of the other acts from the same agency.

They didn't sell enough tickets to be able to pay Ronson or Dizzee up front.

I can't wait till 2010

when I fully expect Gareth's 'JJ72' retrospective to feature as a DiS exclusive.

this OWNS.

I love this band even more for this.

"including a show on Valentines day at the Hammersmith Apollo in London."

isn't Valentine's Day...in February?

when 'Kitsune' is spelt

'Wichita'

time to shed a tear for semifinalists, then.

let's start an indie bidding war for their next record!

i love the cribs

and i love them extra when they slag stuff off. it's funny and they are brilliant, ergo everything is good.

some extra points for team bowen.

world takeover reportedly imminent

blimey

how about the way the music industry is structured means that bands tour around albums & singles? it's not the view's fault! i don't even like them at all but it's hardly their FAULT that they have to do promo or tour to sell records like you're insinuating, is it? that's kind of just how it is.

you're only saying that cos of the will

well, and because it's true.

I don't know if it's the Westway

but feel it appropriate to note that the Westway is my favourite road.

go go elton i say

down with universal!

two days off after two gigs?

on a 7 date tour? slackers.

ps this makes me sad

i really like the zodiac, it's fun, i hope nothing bad happens.

didn't radiohead own the zodiac?

or are people lying to me again?

i wonder

how james noo the frontman of mumm-ra feels about being called oli frost the guitarist. i'm not a big mumm-ra fan but a little accuracy surely goes a long way.

athlete

quoting the NME practically word for word much...?

the clash cover

has manymany singers from bands on it, and most of them were recorded separately i think...pete and carl didn't get together to record it or anything.

well

it's the last song in a campaign which most people in radio/press have already decided "isn't happening" on the basis of previous singles. so now as it's getting played (unlike their others so far), people listening to radio or whatever are expecting to hear more before they commit to an album...but the band will probably go away and record another record, back in two years, and the one song people will have forgotten them.

Arcade Fire

It's probably here nor there in the RT discussion but I heard they haven't managed to keep Arcade Fire for a second record after the first was just a licensing jobby.

t'internet

yes

he's the managing director of rca now.

that tracklisting

looks like it might end up a sad album.
not that you can trust these things to be indicative...

i really don't think

that gb and fr will clash.

Paul Epworth

Is so far from the right producer for a Babyshambles record...

I heard a track yesterday

It's pretty good - very different to the first album, guitars are much edgier...I liked it but I'm not sure people who were drawn in by Hounds of Love would.
