on the whole this is freaking great news as it means the whole myspace generation (IE anyone with a laptop) are just going to clench that little harder on the knackers of the industry - there are however a few grey areas where it'll get interesting with the rules - like live bootlegs? - surely this legitimises the theft of music?

Initlally i really wasn't sure about this one (just for the record, i loved 'End Of Heartache'), but it's rapidly grown on me - the title track is just immense beyond immense, but after that, i just get the feeling that they might be taking their foot off the gas a bit - don't get me wrong, it's an amazing album, and i like how they've developed their sound to somethign a lot dirgier and heavier (reminded me a bit of Soundgarden at their most Sabbath-y) but maybe there's just that little something missing that can take it to the next level.

sure, 'left' is a bit of a grower (read not as masterful, but getting there), but the one and only time i saw them at the Joiners in Soton, they were immense beyond words - 'tis a sad day indeed

ummm, the dates are at the top, buddy.
Killswitch will easily slay FFAF (having seen both bands on separate occassions) - their gig at the Astoria back in January left me bloody, bruised and with a fooking great big smile on my face - never have i partied so hearty.
Oh, and Chimaira did a very similar thing when i saw them at the Wedge - was so sore afterwards that for a few days after the fact, i could have sworn i had ruputred something - i could barely move!

a few points-
1)being a local (i was born in Bath, and live just over the border in Frome- i'm only studying in Southampton), i can confirm that Bath is pretty mediocre in terms of size
2) the reason that so little crime is committed at glasto is because of one of two reasons
a) people are so pissed/stoned/both that they can barely move, let alone think about raiding tents
b)why the hell would anyone pay 130 quid just to cause havoc?

and also, on the acoustic front - who the hell would ahve thought the Foos and Nora Jones would ever work? (it does, rather acely) - futhermore, the track that Taylor sings is probably one of the best tunes on the album (along with the title track)

Of course this is all your own opinion, but don't you think that Independiente did their fair share in the demise of Kinesis? didn't they just throw the band in at the deep-end without a rubber ring and expect them to tread water? Finally been to see it tonight, and it's definitely my fave out of the first three - the opening scene took my breath away- got severely bored by all the Padame hormonal scenes (altho at least there was Natalie Portman to ogle for a bit) then got interested again with all the temple slaughtering bits - also really liked the Yoda/Palpatine scrap - yoda fight scenes are always great fun, as well as the biggie between Anakin/Obi Wan - altho how the hell the film can be classified as a 12a when there's so many scenes with awol limbs and burning bodies is besides me - i might just have an all night marathon just for the hell of it

if you compared them to prime-era Manics, then yes, they weren't the best, but they were very,very special when they played the smaller venues - first saw them support Hundred Reasons and wasn't overawed, but on their own in a venue you can barely swing a chav in, they owned everyone. FACT

This whole thing's got under my skin - Liam just isn't funny - in fact he's just a prick - at Glasto last year he was a miserable cunt, hiding behind his shades in his Daz white duffel coat, doing his damedest to act like an arse - mission accomplished you plank.

tis a terrible, terrible shame -they should have been supermegahuge - all those memories of them destroying the Joiners twice within a month are going to get promoted to a special place in my head - right next to where i keep my pin number/numerous passwords

I've had a gripe with NME ever since they bought out Melody Maker - that just seemed a little too much from the Microsoft school of business - If you can't compete, buy them out.
As for Mr. McNicholas, i'm sure he's a decent bloke at heart, but i just get the feeling he takes things a little too seriously - this award though was quite clearly either a fix, or some cruel joke (although, there is always the possiblity he missed the host say "and now in reverse order...")

but seriously - this album is immense - i don't think i've heard any vocalist (bar maybe Maynard Keenan) sing so perfectly as Rob Flynn does here - those melodies are astounding - and the riffs, the structures, the solo's - it's just the most perfectly formed METAL album since, well, Lataralus, really...
'Clenching..' should be the new 'Puppets'
