now there's a particularly horrific image!
on the whole this is freaking great news as it means the whole myspace generation (IE anyone with a laptop) are just going to clench that little harder on the knackers of the industry - there are however a few grey areas where it'll get interesting with the rules - like live bootlegs? - surely this legitimises the theft of music?
i'm probably talking absolute bollocks (again), but that's just how i read it.............
spot on as ever, mr Raz
Initlally i really wasn't sure about this one (just for the record, i loved 'End Of Heartache'), but it's rapidly grown on me - the title track is just immense beyond immense, but after that, i just get the feeling that they might be taking their foot off the gas a bit - don't get me wrong, it's an amazing album, and i like how they've developed their sound to somethign a lot dirgier and heavier (reminded me a bit of Soundgarden at their most Sabbath-y) but maybe there's just that little something missing that can take it to the next level.
anythibng'd be better than the last album
this sounds damn fine -the 'Tones are due another stonking album - if it's even a third as good as White Pony i'll be a happy bunny indeedy
(and using the 'Elite' filters again - freaking amazing!)
couldn't agree more
sure, 'left' is a bit of a grower (read not as masterful, but getting there), but the one and only time i saw them at the Joiners in Soton, they were immense beyond words - 'tis a sad day indeed
i love slayer
and i don't give a monkey's who disagrees - as someone on some other message board once said 'It's not that they're satanists, they represent an alternative to what is determined to be 'acceptable' by the powers that be'
'God' was a hell of an album ('Discaiple' is one of my all time fave tunes, like, ever), but this raises the bar just that bit higher - and it's all down to Lombardo - he just pulls them into the tightest, meanest mutherfudders on the planet
(and on the subject of Belle And Sebastian fans at Slipknot gigs, i di once see exactly that - one of the most random things i've ever seen
Million Dead to split after September tour
Within Temptation - The Silent Force
maybe not the finished article, but theres definitely signs the could be huge(r)
completely agree with the bit about the riffs being a bit naff, though
Pumpkins Reborn

Funeral For A Friend headline post-wha'eva tour in November
Wednesday nights at Rhino's - that's where it's normally at (and by 'it', i mean 'me')
Re: Funeral For A Friend headline post-wha'eva tour in
Killswitch will easily slay FFAF (having seen both bands on separate occassions) - their gig at the Astoria back in January left me bloody, bruised and with a fooking great big smile on my face - never have i partied so hearty.
Oh, and Chimaira did a very similar thing when i saw them at the Wedge - was so sore afterwards that for a few days after the fact, i could have sworn i had ruputred something - i could barely move!
good luck Emo minnions!
you'll need it!
Re: More music, less crime - the Lords get logical
More music, less crime - the Lords get logical
1)being a local (i was born in Bath, and live just over the border in Frome- i'm only studying in Southampton), i can confirm that Bath is pretty mediocre in terms of size
2) the reason that so little crime is committed at glasto is because of one of two reasons
a) people are so pissed/stoned/both that they can barely move, let alone think about raiding tents
b)why the hell would anyone pay 130 quid just to cause havoc?
Re: Foo Fighters - In Your Honour
and also, on the acoustic front - who the hell would ahve thought the Foos and Nora Jones would ever work? (it does, rather acely) - futhermore, the track that Taylor sings is probably one of the best tunes on the album (along with the title track)
on the whole, decidedly meh!
Re: Kinesis - You Are Being Lied To
(This isn't a dig, i'm just curious)
Ross named most important radio personality
Moyles used to be really funny, but now he's slowly developing into Johnny Vegas (actually, who's ever seen those two in the same room? mmmm..... #strokes chin in attempt to look pondersome#)

Saying that, HTTT is a far superior album - almost on a par with OK Computer, but not quite
Looking forward to seeing how the new stuff turns out

Band bitchin' - Kaisers et al hit back at Oasis
As for all this slagging of of younger bands, he's completely missed the point - if it wasn't for these bands keeping the public interested in british rock music, then no-one would give a flying frig for their new album.....oh, hang on.....no-one does! (bar a few screw-loose die-hards)

NME editor wins an award?!
As for Mr. McNicholas, i'm sure he's a decent bloke at heart, but i just get the feeling he takes things a little too seriously - this award though was quite clearly either a fix, or some cruel joke (although, there is always the possiblity he missed the host say "and now in reverse order...")
and no, NME is not getting better of recent, our immunity is just fading. Nurse! pass the liqour!

yup - sure is
but seriously - this album is immense - i don't think i've heard any vocalist (bar maybe Maynard Keenan) sing so perfectly as Rob Flynn does here - those melodies are astounding - and the riffs, the structures, the solo's - it's just the most perfectly formed METAL album since, well, Lataralus, really...
'Clenching..' should be the new 'Puppets'
