Tom Barman

would be a sherbet dib dab. I haven't seen one for years, and would very much like to try it again to see if its as good as before.

Manchester

please!

I

have yet to meet one of Hard Fi's so called 'working class' fans. Everyone I've ever met who liked Hard Fi were anything but 'working class'

.

.

Pretty much this^

They've always done that though, the NME I mean. Look at how they treated the Happy Mondays for example.

YORK

fuck me, a decent gig in YORK!!! I bet I'm working :-(

I liked

there early twee stuff. After that...meh really. Velocity Girl will always raise a smile though.

Re: CHARTATTACKKKKKK: Top 75 rundown

because you touch yourself at night

Re: Demo Nirvana: 22-track compilation due

i'm not a nirvana fan, but my god what a rip off.

if courtney/dgc/whoever really wanted 'the fans' to hear these three (THREE for fucks sake) new songs then why not stick them online for 99p a go?

losers.

Re: Rock rags record best-ever sales figures

artrocker uses the word 'angular' too much though. rant magazine is a good read, not strictly speaking a music magazine but it good.

Roll Deep - The Avenue

i love this song so much it actually hurts

Belle & Sebastian release 25 song EP collection

i own them all but will be buying this still. they contain their best work and some of the best pop music of the nineties.

Trembling Blue Stars - Bathed In Blue

magnificent record, magnificent band

Camera Obscura - I Love My Jean

very very underloved band.

Manic Street Preachers - Empty Souls

the manics are a funny beast. i think it is positive for them to have moved on from KYE. it wasn't pleasent watching 35 year old, fat men attempting to be themselves when they were ten years younger, ten pounds slimmer and one member more. the manics have done they're job now. they filled the horrible void of music around the time of the arse end of Madchester and the rise of generation x inspired grunge nonesense. they were a band to believe in. they were at the front, making a furious noise, loud, sexy, angry. now they don't need to be. they are happy sitting in the background quietly making the music they want to whilst a new generation of angry young men and women take over. that is, the purists would do well remembering, is what they wanted all along.

still, this song is shit.

Bright Eyes: Oberst Starts Team Love Label

this is the guy from kings of convenience? is his other stood any good? i have heard its meant to be.

Elbow - Not a Job

yes. kinda like pulp. people only getting to know them after hit single despite being around for ages. interesting fact, snow patrol released a single on electric honey, like belle and sebastian (well they released an album), both pretty much languished on jeepster, both move labels, both become recognised as great. though i guess b+s were always quite popular.

god im bored

Belle And Sebastian - I'm a Cuckoo

the game is clearly the hardest thing ever. i cant get past the clouds on level one :-(

February 2004, the Month of the Pale Young Indie Cherub

i reckon its lovely that bands are making pretty, heartfelt pop without sounding yawn-tastic like coldplay. azure ray are really good.

Re: Easyworld - Kill The Last Romantic

agreed. my friend is slightly, worryingly obsessed with them. i can see them doing a snow patrol at some point along the line, they just need a killer single like run and spitting games. is it just me or do they sound like jj72? i dont know much about either but thats the idea i get.

Re: Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand

Its been ages since a British pop band of any quality (i.e. not coldplay or the stereophonics) have had the potential to be chart stars. i mean as much as i love b+s, alfie etc they don't have the image to be massive do they? i think thats why the nme have latched onto them because they no by sticking them on the cover they will sell copies to non 'indie kids'. they also sound horribly like pulp, especially the lyrics, and we all miss pulp dont we?!?! well i do :)
