But
Does the expression "Pogo on that, you twat!" mean anything to them?
Damn
Same night as Owen Pallett at the Barbican. What were the chances...
Was hoping for the soundtrack of Mr.G: The Musical
Disappointing.
Going!
Did anybody else get tickets for this?
b) Paris
A Partridge over Paris: "He was quite literally in Seine. Insane. In the Seine."
Tiny London shows
She's playing three nights at the 12 Bar Club in May. Should be excellent.
EOTR
As much as I love the man's music, and he seems like a nice guy here, I haven't been able to forget about his flying guitar missing my face by a couple of metres. It was scary and dangerous. An explanation would be nice.
UK tour?
Well they're playing Pure Groove in London on March 10. They were excellent supporting Laura Gibson, yes.
great line-up
what a shame it's at the terrible ULU. any word on these instores on nov 8?
a) The United Kingdom
It just goes to show you can't be too careful
ugh
any chance of finding somebody to review the record?
yep, Will Oldham can really hold up
to this sort of thing. A bit harsh on Arise Therefore, I think. Even if it is not his most enjoyable album there is alot more material on there to support this sort of thesis. A Group Of Women, in particular, must class as one of his greatest erotic visions - "as I sit and watch them wash/I have no point to get accross...".
Also, when I think of Oldham's most memorable 'erotic' lines, two songs off Viva Last Blues stand out. The Brute Choir and its "take fear and call it lust, let me go lay in the snow" and More Brother Rides "they ask that we allow sex to make us unrecognisable". These are not verified lyrics, they might be wrong, but they are what I hear and I love 'em.
Nice interview.
I just dug out my copy of the Windfall Varietal, which I bought in San Francisco with Grandaddy played with Elliott Smith. I got it signed about a year later and talked to the band about that SF show. Jason has written "Jason Lytle cares more than you think" and another member of the band has drawn a portrait of Elliott next to a needle. This was before he died, by the way...
The Camden Barf(ly)
I found a bar by Camden Lock
Serving a locally-made tail o'cock
Of mohawk gel from hair of punk
And a woman called Amy's stash of junk
And eye shadow from Ballroom vamps
And Special Brew off shirts of tramps
I can't say that it tasted pleasant
Vomming all the way to Mornington Crescent
Oh no
London gig same night as Low - disaster!
A) Grasshopper
I'm going to win!
A)
Have you seen the shape of Gerard Depardieu recently?
Pick me, pick me!
A) Super Furry Animals
Jason Molina!
Oh my god, been trying to see him play since Axxess & Ace and fate always conspires against me. Please let this be the one...
Do we need to reserve or book or anything? I'll get to Rough Trade when it opens just in case.
in 1982
there was the incident with the pigeon
Okkervil River!
yes!
Need more Espers shows
although the meg baird solo shows will be wonderful
Is she able to play live yet?
I saw her a few times between 2000-2003 and she was absolutely terrible every time. I don't think I've ever seen her complete a song. Is she over all the melodramatic stagefright nonsense yet?
none of these artists will get big
though they all deserve to
Emily Jane White, Laura Gibson, Jesca Hoop, Silje Nes, Tiny Vipers, Peter and the Wolf, Rachel Harrington, Wooden Shjips, Britta Persson, Kaki King, The Young Republic.
Hayden's back?
Elk-Lake Seranade and Skyscraper National Park were lovely. UK tour???
The Drift are really good too
ceiling sky's a beautiful record, kind of slow-burning sleepy jazz jams. lots of trumpet and lazy bass. nice.
looking forward to this festival
Not to be confused with Stephen Duffy
of the Lilac Time...
Saturday now sold out too
Just got tix for Sunday. Hurry!
Ticket for sale
I love Simon Joyner and I love Julie Doiron (the support act) even more but unfortunately I can't make it to the Windmill gig tomorrow. Does anyone want my ticket? I can reallocate it to your email address and you can send 8.50 to me in the post.
last night
Eitzel played some songs of the new record at the Luminaire. He forgot the words occasionally but they still sounded great.
God I hope not
I thought Sigur Ros were playing live. That's the only reason I've been grinning ever since i secured tickets.
Extra London show
He's playing at the ICA, 2pm, Sat 20.
The Sebadoh date
Would seem to coincide with next year's festival. What odds Sebadoh being the curators?
Corsica Studios?
Wonder where I get tickets from??
... or a game of charades involving
Her Majesty the Queen, Osama Bin Laden, Paul 'The Guvnor' Ince and vertically-challenged funnyman Ronnie Corbett?
MP3s
I need this but live in a country with no record shops. Blast! Can anybody please point me in the direction of (legal) MP3 downloads for Giant?
