Good review
although i did find this bit funny:
'Who else would admit to loving a band as obvious as The Beatles, and making music because they wanted to be the biggest band in the world? Who would admit to wanting to be John Lennon?'
um...oasis?
c) the verve
ithankyoo
how many times can one man tell you that he's 'on fire'
and all this faux-rockin' blues/faux-emotive gospel...it's really run it's course. Listen to any of the new stuff next to take your time or anyway that you want me and tell me i'm wrong.
I love Spiritualized's best albums
and they can be incredible live, but I wish he'd back it in. The new album is dreadful, as bad as amazing grace. He's turned into a parody of a parody, it's embarrassing.
woah woah woah
7? this is way better than most of the stuff on here that gets 9/10...alderaan, trick or treat, lust you, michael douglas, steel yr girl are worth more than a 7 alone.
Can't wait to see them at fabric either
Italia '90
schoolboy error! same here though, one of my earliest memories
why is everyone getting so worked up about the state they were in?
I thought it was pretty funny, its not often you see people so MuDded up on the telly and totally freaking jo whiley and jools holland out.
That's strange,
it tells me NOTHING I want to know about the experience. Normally he's a really good writer as well.

is richard hawley from Sheffield?
I'm sure I've heard that somewhere.
haha forgot about that!
and i also just remembered that they sponsered cardiff city's shirts once as well. brilliant.
They didn't release a bad
song for about 5 albums straight, including b sides. My deciding factor in going to Cardiff Uni was my SFA obsession, which now seems a little weird looking back, but never mind, it was fun.
But now they seem a little dull, on record at least. Zoom! is a great track, but for the past couple of albums they seem stuck in this beach boys worship zone and have forgotten/abandoned all the mad little punky bits which used to punctuate their albums and made them extra-great. Seriously, SFA at their best piss on the beach boys, why turn yourselves into a tribute act?
Still probably my favourite band ever though, despite hardly listening to them anymore.
what site is that?
it sounds funny
Jesus Christ
ten?! Jamie T is literally the worst thing i have had the misfortune to hear in the past ten months.
and NOONE TALKS LIKE THAT. When you're portraying yourself as the 'voice of the streets', authenticity is important, surely? Else it's just a public school kid dressing up as one of the 'poor people' he drives past in his parent's beemer on his way to some scenester club. Load of shit.
brilliant
band, brilliant song. no idea why theyre not huge.
Gah
the lyrics are absolutely dire. Especially as he seems to choose the worst lines as the ones he repeats over and over again.
and the music's pretty average too, every song seems to have a 'wacky' crunnnnk intro for two minutes before turning into yet another re-run of the helicopter riff.
great record +
great fanzine + great people = certain victory
!
ace song. ace band.

c'mon
you can accuse oasis of many things, but 'not going on about the beatles/john lennon/wanting to be the biggest band in the world enough' isnt one of them
