the O in The Onion
an oldie but goodie:
http://www.theonion.com/articles/concert-ruined-by-guy-enjoying-himself,1690/
Foreigner's opening triple whammy
of Double Vision, Head Games and Cold As Ice was pretty goddamn special
less so their new singer's decision to sing I Want To Know What Love Is at one of the young girls in the choir, that was somewhat ill-judged and queasy making
also: Mike D was proudly wearing a HEALTH t-shirt, like he'd gotten lost on his way to 1234 festival...
Holy Diver! it was nice meeting your dad
couldn't make the Sunday, but my Saturday highlights were ZZ Top, Heaven & Hell - Glenn Hughes' hair made him look like a pocket-sized Scott Weiland - Foreigner and Cathedral
\m/
hell yeah!
exciting news
Besnard ticket link
http://www.wegottickets.com/event/77114
doors are at 7pm - there might be a few left on the night, but best to check that link tomorrow as with all the cancellations elsewhere it may sell out in advance...
The Besnard Lakes show is still on
the support band Double U may not make it alas, for reasons mentioned above
but Besnard will definitely be playing!
The Guardian review discussed above can be read here
http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2010/apr/08/tallest-man-on-earth-wild-hunt-review
The Independent also reviewed The Wild Hunt last Friday:
http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/reviews/album-the-tallest-man-on-earth-the-wild-hunt-dead-oceans-1939532.html
(as did The Sun, but that one's not online)
definitely one my albums of the year
reveals more with each play, i'm hooked
Johnny Depp on Sunset Rubdown
watch the CBS news interview here:
http://jagjaguwar.com/blog/2010/02/sunset-rubdown-preps-johnny-depp-for-the-mad-hatter/
Terry Gilliam is a fan too:
http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/lifestyle/article-23759883-terry-gilliam---my-london.do
Lily Cole was into them first:
http://women.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/women/celebrity/article4166396.ece
this one is definitely for the hardcore
i like it, but 'tis strong medicine for sure
limited edition too!
aha!
well we must make sure our paths cross this weekend
the Hüsker Dü songs Bob Mould and No Age played
Something I Learned Today
In A Free Land
Lukowski - did i actually see you the whole weekend?!
are none of you ungrateful children going to comment?!
Mudhoney wipe the floor with all your young people bands
i am very excited about seeing them again this weekend
these superb shots (and more) were taken for a feature in this month's MOJO magazine
http://www.ideologic.org/?news=2404
Simon and i were lucky enough to go to Budapest to cover the Monoliths show on the A38, a former stone-carrying ship now moored on the Danube
also interviewed Attila for The Quietus:
http://thequietus.com/articles/03377-sunn-o-attila-csihar-interview
the band-penned press release for this is hilarious
well worth a read if you have the time:

HE'S SHOOTING AT THESE CANS!
He hates these cans!! Stay away from the cans!!!
genius
nice interview
enjoyed reading this!
indeed
a lovely fella
does anyone know what's happening with the vinyl?
cos i'd like to buy it as an actual double elpee
ZZ Topless
an all the medals classic!
glad it's being repromoted: if i had a truck, this is what i'd listen to while driving
is no one going to comment?
this news has totally made my day!
forgot to say, they self-released that one
and you can buy it off iTunes
you would have found their 2007 debut on eMusic last year
titled Hangin' Nothin' But Our Hands Down
not Apple's Acre, which is all new songs!

new album
been put back to autumn
i'm told there will be UK/Euro dates too!
agree that there are parallels with Tunnel Of Love
but i'd argue that that was a great, personal record which grows on you over the years
Working On A Dream may have the same effect, given time...
pronounced "black jacks"
apologies for being a pedant, but there's a factual error in the review:
the frontman and lead vocalist is Linda Buthelezi
Mpumi Mcata is actually the band's guitarist (not the singer as stated above)
cheers!
you're both right!
there have been two Guardian pieces: one last year then another two week ago...
