ace
This went from an album I bought on a whim to one of my favourites of the last year, good to see it win, though i'd have been just as happy if the Phantom Band had won too
interesting interview
can't wait to get the album on monday
enjoyable read
really looking forward to hearing the new album on monday, a band high on my list to see live (bloody do a gig in Birmingham, i'm still upset that they pulled out of the last one in Birmingham on the day of the gig)
Fantastic gig, the ears rang all day after!
Was awesome to see a band of Dinosaur Jr's stature in a venue as small as the rockhouse, was excellent, very loud, i'm glad I did move back a bit half way through, I think it stopped my hearing from being completely buggered!
I also love spillers it rules
My family are from Wales, and so when I go visit them a trip to spillers is always scheduled as part of my routine. The staff are great, friendly but not pushy, they've been willing to get items signed at instores and post them down to the midlands for me in the past, and the place has such a nice vibe, it's how all record shops should be. My spillers t shirt is my fave music t shirt I own, i've had people come up to me at gigs when i've worn it, to talk about spillers. Long love the independent record shop, and everything they stand for, music over money, customer over consumerism.
Gutted they didn't play, but Brum was still a good night
Was gutted when I heard that FOTL were not going to be playing in Birmingham last night, but the night was still great, excellent performances from the 3 other bands on the bill,
Cromwells League, Sabotage Left and Untitled Musical Project. And the dj did actually play a FOTL track so they sort of did play!
But I never got to see LCD S.S live
But i'm sure if he does stop recording under the LCD Soundsystem banner whatever he does make will be ace. And I still have the cd's to dance around like a loon to
At least it looks like they will be rescheduled
I had a phone call from Wolverhampton today confirming that they had cancelled, but were looking to reschedule the gigs, I just hope it ain't when i've got others happening, as i've got tickets for 3/4 other gigs this month, and december i've got 3/4 as well.
Birmingham date is a must
With Untitled Musical Project playing with them in Brum (and Sabotage Left another cracking band) the brum date has to be done, the rainbow is just the best venue ever, retractable roof, bbq, cheap as chips drinks, great sound.
great read
Enjoyed reading this little interview, Hooky's one of my fave musicians, the way he played his bass, so low down, the sound he has always stood out for me. Look forward to hearing some of these reissues, definitely going to look into purchasing them
Birmingham No Show
we were gutted when we got over to Birmingham to be told by the indigos, who were due to support you that night, that you wouldn't be playing because of a radio interview.
At least reading that post I can understand why they didn't make it. Just make sure you come back to Birmingham soon, my already fragile hearing needs more punishment! Oh and get the Indigos on the bill with you, fantastic band.
