this is the best lineup
anyone want to buy me a couple of tickets?
clearly vince power
has some deal with the touts. as he does with the fake merchendise people. he doesn't give them so much trouble, they give him a bit of profit. so he actually makes even more money. clever eh...he's not going to sue me is he?
i second the clinic
being the best band from liverpool ever opinion...
i thought the crowd
was all indie kids and older people (upstairs). i liked the fact that there was mucho jumping and dancing from loads of people.
foals won me over.
the track hold up
is amazing. the bit that happens 1minute 46seconds in makes all other hip hop ever seem boring and pointless. the build up before that bit is good too. is it dat politics in this song? anyone know?
i lose or win
i can say i have heard none of these
plant me a rose
was the song...how amazing
i remember the boggs
i loved the one song i ever heard by them. i used to look at that we are the boggs we are album in borders on a regular basis hoping one day that it would work on the scanning thing. it never did and i never bought it....i'm going to myspace my self to the boggs immediately.
shirley
you like billy bragg....shirley, shirley!
to be fair
in his monthly column for select mr braithwaite used to rave about bands he did like. i remember in particular him mentioning maher shalal hash baz. and he loved ligament. i haven't got a complete point here, i'm just saying that he LIKES bands as well as not liking bands. just like me, and you.
when i asked why they were called holy fuck
they (graham actually) didn't know that people in england don't say holy fuck all the time. it is said all the time...moreso than the english saying "fancy a pint"
i have already forgotten
what dis looked like last week, this makes me sad
i implore
nottinghammers and londoners to go see frog eyes, they are sooo good live. so dancey and slightly spastic. sometimes it is like carey mercer is screaming at god to make the sound of a musical traincrash dancey and fun. and when he isn't screaming at god he is breathing in wonder and breathing out poetry.
go all, go and frog eyes it up.
about fucking time
i hate that guy, ruins every fucking trailer "it was a time of war"
oh swans obv
and doves
opening bands
will hopefully all be bird based
an albatross, pelican, birds of prey, the chicks, hawkwind, the byrds, erm, pterodactyl, party of helicopters....oops
wouldn't be out of the
question for a dis review. o2 arena pretty big and it requires staff to work there. if you signed up with the right agency you could probably get a shift there. if i was in london i could get a shift there and review the gig, but i aint...i'm fuckin miles away. so rather than shell out £950 you could actually get paid to be there. but i don't like the eagles, though that langley schools music project cover of desperado is good
oh it went
to my junk box...doesn't bode well
worthless indeed
maybe next time he'll think about spending more than £0.00...he already did, when he spent £9.82. dick.
oh and i didn't get my e-mail this morning. i paid £3.45. to not get the new radiohead album.
i thought
steve jones was babybird? or was that stephen jones? anyway, you're gorgeous
unlikely they would sign with
mint records...home of p:ano and immaculate machine and bella amongst others. very unlikely, you would get good odds on that
Given your history with Creation, and Dick’s
question phrased somewhat unfortunately? or should i say amusingly?
police beat
has aphex twin and kinski and erik satie amongst others. great little film too, that has apparently come ot on dvd! yay!
pi has an excellent soundtrack too.
dear wendy too - all zombies!
they played on a public
bus in my town a few months ago. there were only about 10 people on the bus. but it is on youtube. bit weird. would have been really strange if you went on a bus and suddenly the white stripes got on and played hotel yorba.
just downloaded
the top 5 songs. this is the first time i have heard any of these tracks. so...
1) manics - worse than i thought it was going to be, who are these other voices? what a bad sounding guitar, erm, sound. how do you over produce something so much that it sounds cheap? i'll listen again and see about lyrics.
2) kaisers - lalala lalala, wow, this doesn't sound much like the other kaisers...oh wait chorus does. kind of pedestrian. but the 2 seconds before the chorus sound pretty good, might work live. ooh, breakdown. i want to skip to next song but won't. how can 3 minutes sound so long?
3) athers - i've never liked athlete. this is my favourite song by them so far. and the best of the song nominations so far also. kind of bland, and forgot it was on even though i was trying to review it.
4) hard fi - apparently they rock the satellite and don't like the one way system. i like the way the hey yeah yeah refrain has a condescending laziness. who they are condescending i don't know, probably the people who buy this. oh good, it stopped.
5) muse - clearly going to be the best song because it has the most ridiculous song title and muse are the most ridiculous band on this list. i don't like them. i like this drumbeat, kind of kraftwerky, and the kazoo-a-like guitar.
vocals come in and don't ruin it shocker! i hope this gets really epic and makes me cry. wow, queen-a-liscious! if they fight to survive do you think they will win? maybe with this guitar, bass and drum prog battle that is in my ears right now. if this song doesn't win i'll do something i'll regret (probably eat too many donuts again as usual). still, it's not like it is one of the best songs of the year.
anyone
think he may not have actually said those words? or at least not in tha order...the story is in the daily star after all
listening to more klaus thunder
and excited about washing up...thanks for this article....i'm gonna put on aavikko next and do some litter box cleaning
listening to klaus thunder
feeling like doing some exercise....with lots of punching.....wow
also....you reminded me of the erasmus you chimney bottler
i prefer
goblin cock
you mean
about a boy oooh something to talk about to give it it's full title
i remember a quote
on dEUS' first album that said something like "pretentious art wank?...as a big fan of both art and wanking..." and it was a recommendation. dEUS never sold any records and probably aren't pop. now, is my comment as well made as the article that preceded it or what?!
i live in canada
the ocassional bar has a smoking room which is good if you don't enter and really disgusting if you do. on the whole everyone smokes outside the venue in little cordoned off areas. the people who go outside to smoke make new friends, the people who stay inside get a chance to get to the front of the bar/stage. i'm not sire winter will deter people. i live in winnipeg and people smoke outside in temperatures of minus 30.
what about the poalris prize?
are those nominations any better?
i once saw a poster
for a band called the septemberists. and someone told me of some marchist manifesto .
another
good looking jamie bell movie. he'd better watch out or i might just start wanting to see a film just because he is in it. and jumper could just be as good as sliders. wow. i like jamie bell. i'm not afraid to admit it.
yes to everyone else's opinion
i used to like cottage industries but the swashes and bleeps don't cut it for me anymore. i used to worship at the ground of domino (except royal trux, never got them) but no anymore. chemikal underground was pretty good wasn't it? no one mentioned them. i have high hopes for kill devil hills but with 2 releases it doesn't count.
i would rather buy a label sampler from bella union or leaf than anyone else i guess.
boom!
yay....liars playing in a town near everyone!
but what about
crispian mills' other band? the one blasting out from the canadian music scene?
seeee

fuck london
let londoners travel somewhere for themselves just once. play bexhill or cowdenbeath or something.
oops
http://myspace.com/leytonfakecurtis
and malajube are indeed excellent.
leyton (fake) curtis
is much better than dj reach. he is also on myspace www.myspace.com/leytonfakecurtis. and if you think alan's lapdance would have taken sodding ages listen to bruce or this is what i said. oh and it is funny too. actually funny.
and malajube
i guess they aren't new though and i never come on dis so maybe you raved about them last week. or last year. good though. french is good isn't it? i can't speak it or understand it but i sing along. to sum up...malajube.
